She helped me come up with a design that matched my style and vision for the space. The materials I bought from her were all high quality and delivered without any issues. She also communicated frequently with my contractor which was a huge help given my busy schedule. Her experience and knowledge working on or with construction projects was a huge asset to making my project successful and low stress. Robin is very helpful, listens, provides great ideas and was instrumental in facilitating all aspects of my project. Robin is an energetic, passionate and great customer advocate who truly cares about her customer's success and satisfaction. My best advice is to go meet her, discuss your ideas and decide for yourself. The design/construction business can be sketchy (based on a past experience). Robin and the Design Center West team are open, honest and patient.

Unfortunately I am not the only one who has endured a bad experience with her. MH I warn anyone who will listen away from this unethical business and owner Robin Boyce. I had the misfortune to be her client and endure her careless, unprofessional, dishonest and ultimately abusive and vulgar treatment. My "custom kitchen" arrived without the custom elements and with a grossly oversized refrigerator. The kitchen designer blames someone else for a major kitchen error and refuses to fix it! (See photos) I had the exact same experience with the shutters and the custom stair-runner I ordered from her. They were both delivered with errors and missing parts, and Design West has done NOTHING to correct its errors. This is the worst experience I've ever had with another human being, period. I never received an apology on any mistake I swear to God. That's when I realized too late I had hired the wrong person. Robin Boyce/Design Center West scammed me by promising professional results and delivering dirt. Robin Boyce then turned verbally abusive when confronted with her easily disproved lies. (I have all documentation to prove my charges.) This last point deserves special mention. When I expressed my dismay at the errors, delays and lack of accountability, her demeanor shifted immediately from friendly to combative and borderline violent. It was a shock to learn the owner wasn't just a sleaze but mentally unhinged too. When I confronted her in her store after she ignored my contractor's emails and texts, she began screaming profanities at me while hurling insults about my appearance and character, which I presumed was an intimidation tactic. That felt sickening, but it worsened when she came at me with her arm pulled back as if to throw a punch, but thankfully she stopped herself before landing her fist in my face. I feel certain the only thing that stopped her was a possible assault charge. I would feel sorry for Ms Boyce if she wasn't a thief, and if her emotional instability didn't manifest in such an ugly manner. But no mental state excuses her dishonesty, mentally healthy or not. Not a word of this review is hyperbole. I lost thousands of dollars and was blindsided by a venomous verbal assault because I had the temerity to call out Robin Boyce on her mendacity and fraud. I could provide a colorful litany of her actions, but suffice it to say that it involved a lot of obscene finger, hip and hand gestures. Incidentally, her staff just sat there like dummies the entire time and let it all happen. Apparently they don't have an issue working for such a repulsive woman. Prior to my dealings with her, Robin was verbally abusive to my contractor on multiple occasions as well when he asked her about delayed deliverables. Following is an example of one the few correspondences between him and Robin that isn't littered with her F-bombs: "Shut up. Stop talking. Don't tell me what to do. Its not Maureen... its you. I'm surprised guys take your mouth, and the way you talk down to others; I suspect you've been punched a few times." This is the first---and I hope last--bad review I ever had to write. Let this brutally honest review serve as a public service announcement to warn others away from this troublemaker. Do not hire Design Center West. You will pay a premium for sloppy, mediocre results, and the owner will curse you when you express your dissatisfaction. This has been a yearlong nightmare that only ended after I hired someone else to fix all of her mistakes. Caveat emptor!

The reason I rated them just 2 stars starts here: I got my new sofa and love seat home expecting to have to put the legs in them as it said "Some Assembly Required" well the love seat already had the legs installed, great thanks! The sofa didn't. No biggie, I screwed them in and thought I was all set and ready to enjoy Christmas in our new house with our new living room set. Turns out, the love seat with the legs already screwed in was missing the throw pillows. We called the store right away and they said they'd check the warehouse and call us back. On Saturday we called again since they never called back Friday night. I was told the warehouse didn't have them and that they'd get back to me. Tuesday, day after Christmas, I called the corporate office and she says they didn't find them and they'd have to order from the manufacturer and it will be 2-4 weeks... She said they never called me back on Saturday because they were closed at the corporate office. No one in Westboro mentioned that, they led me to believe I'd be getting a call back that day. At the end of the day the furniture seems decent and it's not the end of the world that the order was incomplete or that it's going to take weeks to arrive. The issue is they came off as if my problem wasn't a huge deal to them and they'd get to it when they get to it. I don't expect to you work Christmas Day or even Christmas Eve for this, but be up front and mention that the office is closed and I should expect a call Tuesday.

First, the delivery folks did not want to put to coasters down to protect the floor. I has to convince them to do so, so they eventually did. Then, they would NOT take the headboard despite the "no problem" we got in the store. We even did them the courtesy of taking the old set apart for them before they came. I called customer service while they were there, who said they'd call back. We did not get a call until AFTER the truck left. She then said that the headboard would be $100 to remove - but the truck is gone, so, not their problem I guess. Now I have to arrange and pay extra to find someone to take a king-size headboard out of my house. We have purchased a lot of furniture and bedding from them (almost exclusively) previously over the years. We will not be doing so again. There are plenty if furniture stores that will gladly have our business.

I asked about the bargain basement which has since been let go due to the cost of the lease. I didn't purchase anything on my first visit but plan to check back periodically for furniture.

The two men were unprofessional. They did not wrap or protect the furniture inside the truck or outside. One of the pieces was dropped in the truck when they were putting in on the lift. After they brought the 3 pieces into the house they left the cushions in a pile on the floor and did not assemble the sectional. When we put the sectional together we discovered a 4 inch tear on the sofa material and immediately called the store. The delivery people denied tearing the material and the store said that since the Westborough Ashley store uses a third party delivery service there is nothing the store could do to help us. You cannot reach anyone at the national level because these stores are franchises. You cannot get help at the Westborough store owner because they will not take responsibility for a hiring a cheap, unprofessional delivery company. And the delivery people are not kept accountable. This was how I learned about the store and I fell in love with the furniture. Over the years I have bought most of the furniture that is in my home from BoConcept. It's beautiful furniture, modern, but at the same time inviting, comfortable and pretty. I think the last time I bought some thing at the store was about three years ago, and my furniture has always worn very well. I had a problem with one of the furniture pieces that I had purchased three years ago and I called the store to let them know. I think my experience with customer service is that it's not usually good when I called places, so I felt a little bit nervous calling. I can't even tell you how helpful Louis was, and how much better I felt after speaking with him. They are repairing the flaw to my furniture piece, and I could not be more impressed with the incredible customer service that I got. In an age of lacking Customer Service, BoConcept was the opposite. They were helpful, understanding and kind. I would highly recommend this company as well as the store. You will not be disappointed.

I waited months for a furniture purchase while delivery dates were missed multiple times, with delays disclosed only after I repeatedly chased the store for updates. There was zero proactive communication throughout the process. I've had the great misfortune and displeasure of having to deal with Anthony Goode, one of the proprietors. He needs to get a serious lesson in customer service and hospitality or get out of the retail business. After the second missed delivery, he was unapologetic, deflected responsibility, and refused to provide a guaranteed delivery date. When asked to put everything in writing--including delivery commitments or compensation--he insisted on phone calls only, an apparent attempt to avoid a written record. After extensive back-and-forth and continued refusal to provide basic accountability or a firm delivery date, I was forced to cancel the order. Despite this, the business has refused to issue a refund of my 50% deposit. This is an unscrupulous and deceptive business operation that avoids transparency and accountability at every turn. Save yourself the time, stress, and money--do not shop here. Buyer beware!!!
