I feel oddly like Sleeping Beauty. Were there adorable fluffy deer with twin fawns like in the yelp pictures? I was pretty sure they were photoshopped, but apparently not. My massage therapist Naomi was incredible. I wish I could say that I fell asleep during the massage but actually I left more sore than when I came in.. which. was. perfect! I didn't even tell her what my profession was and she was able to tell the areas that cause me discomfort throughout the week. She targeted the areas of concern and intensely concentrated on them. I loved that she offered essential oils and there was no additional charge for them. The hot stone addition was relaxing and made me feel like a pat of butter on freshly made toast. The setting was exquisite, the massage expertise unbeatable, and the price incredibly competitive and worth every dime. Pretty sure I'll be braving the traffic to return to Oly just for these massages.

The receptionist was a very nice and helpful. When it was time for my massage I could not have anticipated how great it was going to be. Heated table, hot rocks, cups, everything you could ask for. My therapist was very good at asking questions and making sure I was comfortable. She did the best massage I've ever had and I played college football so I've had many. I signed up for the membership because it is actually a very good deal and saves you a nice chunk of money. I will be going back weekly. As a former college athlete and current rodeo athlete I highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you to everyone at Ballaura spa.

However as we got into talked the hot spots I would like to focus on, and which was odd for me as usually that's where someone would start or have you lay face down, instead it was face up. Where I feel it was like a massage envy type vibe where they don't just give you fully what you want and try to make you come back for another one. The hot towel and cupping was great however didn't seem like the person knew what they were fully doing. Lastly I know the cost of living has went up, but this was my first and last visit as no reason why someone should be paying $200+ for a massage period. I have found and had better from others in the area. Update: management did reach out in attempt to help solve future issues and provide a complimentary service.

I mentioned during my massage I was looking for a weekly gig. When we checked out, I was not offered the next slot available, and instead was told to check out other providers, as they might be a better fit.. I felt rejected, like she didn't want to work on me, possibly due to my weight. I don't know, but I felt like I wasn't entirely welcome back, as no additional appointments were offered or encouraged nor booked.

I was looking for something affordable and close by, and settled on Epic Massage. Like most local chains, it can a be a hit or miss. This place had an online scheduler so I was able to find a day and time that worked well for me. Once I arrived, the person (owner?) seemed confused but got me set up in a room where I waited about 10 minutes before someone came in. At the end, I showed her the email confirmation which I think helped confirm they have online scheduling, but they prefer walk-in or a phone call. Great massage, she definitely could tell right off the bat where my trouble spots were or what sort of occupation I had! A little more chatty than I hoped but the massage was a good start in the right direction in feeling better. Not sure if I will return given the lady was a bit handsey but it seems like a place that has a lot of regulars there! Maybe the others who work there are great too!

Emilie at Emzone Massage is a miracle worker!!! If you get massages regularly, you know when your…read moretherapist has the 'massage spidey-sense' and can let their hands guide them to the spots you need help with. Em has this quality in SPADES! I am a former massage practitioner, and while I'll take a massage from anyone, I seek out a professional who can feel their way through through my musculature and tendons, who is attuned to my breathing and any subtle changes I may make so they adjust their pressure and check in with me about my comfort. I have found Em, and I'm not letting her go!! Her availability gets more limited each time I see her, and as much as I would LOVE to keep her a secret so I can get an appointment whenever I want, this woman performs incredible bodywork and deserves as much business as she wants to handle. She is set up to take credit/debit, her new location appears to be a co-op of wellness workers with each provider meeting their clients in the joint reception area. Conveniently located in West Olympia, about 2 minutes from the 101 Automall exit. She will customize music to your preference, if you have one, and I promise you will walk out of there feeling like a new person. Be sure to drink lots of water after, with any massage, but especially if you go for deep tissue; Emilie has some great strength and is not afraid to use it to tenderize even the tightest of knots.
