Prices are VERY high--often at or even above retail for many items, which defeats the purpose of shopping secondhand. You're better off buying brand new in some cases. The selection of quality items is meager, with most of the inventory being either outdated, worn, or simply overpriced for the condition it's in. It feels more like a boutique trying to cash in on the thrift trend than a store genuinely serving the community with affordable options. What the lady from Bloomfield Hills does not seem to realize is the "3 M's" are all 'alive - organisms that spread & grow just like ants or fleas. If you have a library and a book is put on your shelf that has mildew on it, that mildew CAN & usually Does grow & spreads to other books. If you have clothing that has mildew on it, you can see the spots & you usually can not "wash it out". I won a box-lot of vintage 1920's hats at an auction. It was a lousy day for an auction - raining & windy. My nose was running and I could not smell. I got stuck with mildewy hats. Great. SO if you donate a truck full of stuff & the musty smell hits you in the face when the door is opened, it is NOT "one little thing". But it IS like skunk spray - not going away. So please do not blame the helper. Their trash bill is over a thousand dollars a month.
