Once you walk into this business it gives the nicest "PLEASE enter" feel ever. The original flooring was amazingly intact still and with every step I am sure there is a great story! The items are beautiful and so unique with the creativity behind them. I live near Detroit and let me say you will not find these items at the local boutiques. I could not agree more with the previous review; "What you get is what you pay for". These items are fun, one of a kind and will be the talk of your living space for years to come. If you are not trying to fill your home with cheap garbage you definitely need to visit "Spuds". Make sure to check all the corners and look up as there is something waiting just for you! I can't leave without commenting on the pleasantry of the staff. They were there to help with any questions and did not seem annoyed to do so, making small talk along the way. They went out of their way for an item I had purchased and could not have been more pleased with their outstanding service! Thank you Spuds; Wish more businesses were like this and catered to their "customers". I did not know this company was family owned, another perk and reason why I will purchase from them again! I just with they had a store closer :-)

The selection is pretty good and fairly fashionable/current but the prices are a bit high for a second hand store. There are little sections of what appears to be handmade jewelry around the store which is really pretty. The thing that turned me off most to this store was the sign in the dressing room yelling at the customer to put back the clothes they try on. What? What self respecting store does that? It's just pure laziness. I don't think even gold mine forces their customers to put their clothes back on the rack and they're a charity and volunteer run! You're also greeted by a "no public bathroom" sign before you even step in the door which just makes it seem really unwelcoming. If I was the owners/workers (listen up guys!) I would take down that sign and if anyone asks for a bathroom then you say "sorry we don't have one, but there's one down the block in front of park side deli". That way you're being helpful and not accusatory. As for the dressing room sign, come on. I get it it can get busy but you're asking your customers to do your job for you. If you really can't for whatever reason find yourself to put the clothes back, a sign hat says "In this busy summer season, it would be very helpful to us if you could return clothes to where you found them after trying them on. Thank you :)"

New Beginnings Thrift Store Review…read more I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, it misses the mark as a true thrift store. Prices are VERY high--often at or even above retail for many items, which defeats the purpose of shopping secondhand. You're better off buying brand new in some cases. The selection of quality items is meager, with most of the inventory being either outdated, worn, or simply overpriced for the condition it's in. It feels more like a boutique trying to cash in on the thrift trend than a store genuinely serving the community with affordable options. If you're looking for real bargains or hidden gems, this probably isn't the place.
