I had a very disappointing experience at Home Surplus today. My husband and I arrived around 3:10 PM, ready to place an order, but the customer service was completely unacceptable. There were several associates sitting at the desk engaged in personal conversations, some of which even included profanity--something that is highly unprofessional on a sales floor. We spent about 25 minutes walking around the store, clearly visible and ready to make a purchase, yet not a single employee greeted us or offered assistance. Even standing near them did not prompt any acknowledgment. It felt as though helping customers was the last thing on their minds. What made the situation worse was overhearing an inappropriate conversation between an associate and a male customer, which was not suitable for a professional retail environment. At that point, I became frustrated and decided to leave around 3:35 PM without making a purchase. No matter if a customer is spending a dollar or thousands, everyone deserves to feel valued and respected. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I will be taking my business elsewhere and will not recommend this store based on this experience. read more

We were hoping for a great experience at Home Surplus! All initial interactions were great! The woman that helped us design our kitchen was great! Ordering was a long process, but very smooth. My husband and I ordered cabinets that were currently in stock in the warehouse purposefully because we were under a time crunch. All cabinets were supposed to be delivered on time together a few days after placing the order. Very little communication on when the delivery was going to take place. And then we were missing multiple cabinets (even though they were in stock) plus another badly damaged cabinet, which then needed to get replaced. We called multiple times and got the run-around concluding many phone calls with them needing to check inventory and will give us a call back. No callbacks were made. We were even denied speaking with a manager, when things just weren't getting resolved. 3 weeks after our initial delivery date we were able to receive all cabinets. Those that had to make the deliveries again due to a business mistake were very bitter and again not very communicative. Today, our contractors were to place the hardware on the cabinets. Come to find that the hardware that we received was incorrect. For the amount of money we paid for "in-stock" cabinets...was definitely not worth the headache of getting our order. read more

All policies (returns, exchanges, measurements etc) are outlined throughout the store and in the forms you sign. They have brands and styles comparable to all the big stores without the exuberant pricing. Absolutely horrendous service. DO NOT GO HERE. Zero stars. Order was not accurately fulfilled and required multiple inconvenient trips back and forth. When a product was incorrect, they refused to take it back. Terrible attitude, mean, and condescending man. If you cannot fulfill orders correctly in the first place, at least accept a return when it is WRONG. Cardboard packaging should not matter when the product was never installed, let alone touched. Bad attitude and garbage policies is NOT how to retain customers.. doesn't matter how cheap the products are. These people should not be in business. read more

My husband and I had the best experience here! We found exactly what we were looking for and more! Our dream kitchen is now a reality thanks to Castle. The big box stores quoted us over $10k just for cabinets, and that was just for the basics, not all the extras we wanted. At Castle we found exactly what we were looking for at about 1/2 the cost! The employees and owner were super friendly and efficient. When we came for our second trip and knew exactly what we needed and we're ready to buy, the owner walked around with us and pulled all the cabinets for us. He gave us helpful suggestions and went over everything with us to make sure we got it all. And the few items that were out of stock, he said would be back in stock in just a few days (unlike big box store who take over 4 weeks).
