Other providers that we called didn't even pick up the phone or said they would return our call and ghosted us. Simon, the owner, came out to do the estimate for us. He was on time and texted us beforehand. He is very knowledgeable about insulation and was able to explain things in a way that made it easy to understand! He walked us through a few different options at different price points and didn't put any pressure on us. The best part is, we were able to schedule the project for the same week! I called and Alex picked up immediately. Very polite on the phone and booked an appointment with him in two days. Alex arrived early, did a walk around the entire house, told me there were 2 additional areas that needed repair, he walked me outside and showed me the areas. I was sort of sick about additional areas that needed to be replaced but frankly I could see it and of course I didn't want rain water entering the house so I appreciated his keen eye on my issues. I also had a xeriscape rain barrel that I wanted hooked up to a downspout. This was awesome to show my husband all the pictures (roof is about 30 feet high and peaked so we cannot access). The tech was able to twist the valve with a wrench and the heater was working! Beyond happy with Andrew Matthew's. Also, if we did need a new heater Albert's price was half the cost the other guy. Shane did what every contractor should: do what you say you are going to do, when you say you are going to do it, for the price you said you would do it for. It sounds so simple, but 99 times out of 100 it doesn't happen. This was that rare hundredth time that the project was executed on time, on budget, and exactly to expectations. No more crazy hot/cold temp swings in my garage. Shane and crew showed up when he said he would, did more touch up above my house than I expected, sprayed foam above my garage and cleaned up more than he needed to. I am particular and am very pleased by the professionalism by Shane and crew. The equipment noise was as expected... they have to run their generator to power the sprayer. Not sure what world the other reviewer lives on, but there are no magic wands to install foam. Power is needed and the equipment noise is what it is. Insects, rodents, wildlife; they will always look to make a home inside of 'your' home. In this…read morecase mine. I suppose I could be ok with this if they didn't make so much noise. In which case I had a few rats, that unknown to me, burrowed their way under my foundation and into the crawl space. Learn something new every day. So I call Charlotte Wildlife Removal and learn that rats can actually dig tunnels. And from earlier battles to remove them over the years; found that there were a few holdouts left. CWR laid out large box traps along the entrance to the hole and other areas as well as in the crawl space. Being sure not to lay poison yet so that they wouldn't die and then I would have the smell in the house. Side note; contrary to popular belief, the poison doesn't drive them out to get water, they'll just stay and die. CWR came by every other day for 2 weeks to check the traps. All of the rats we caught happened in the first few days but did it for 2 weeks to be certain. Then the poisonous was laid in the attic, and crawl space. The best part though is that CWR dug down where the tunnels were filled it all back with concrete and covered with dirt. Overkill, possibly. Serious follow through, ohhh you bet! I have a near full basement and these tunnels contributed to leaks into the basement on days of heavy rain. So I'm very thankful for this dual repair. They will be back to do other preventative work for the crawl space. For now it's back to just being my home. Pleasant to work with, diligent and priced fairly. Highly recommend them.
