I went with these guys because they were the cheapest of the three quotes I got for some sliding basement windows. All of these companies push a generic window (versus something like a Pella) and they're usually of comparable quality, at least amongst generics. The windows do seem fine, so that's why this isn't a one star review. But these are the major issues:
1) Delays/scheduling. All the windows in my basement are the same size. They came out once to measure and provide a quote. Once I agreed to the project, they came back two weeks later....just to measure again. I have no idea why they needed to measure again, other than to do the following:
2) Wrong window size. We asked for exact replacements of the sliding windows we had. They were custom windows, so we were told this was no problem. But Home Pro gave us *considerably* smaller windows than what were originally in the basement. How could they get windows which were several inches smaller in height and width to fit, you ask? By spending half of a day "building up" the area around the window with pieces of trim...then more pieces of trim...then more pieces of trim. The final result looks okay, but the windows are yet again CONSIDERABLY smaller than the ones we replaced. That was really, really shady.
3) The installers, despite these windows not being very big, made a ton of scratches/scrapes/gouges all over the wall underneath the windows. Again, they didn't say a word.
Anyway, not cool, Home Pro. If you get a job done with these guys, you need to make sure when they're "measuring" for your windows, you get the same size you had before. Wouldn't have thought I would have had to watch that, but I guess you learn something new every day. read more
