Hmm. I went back to see Ryan again and for a full new set and some epic nail art. I showed him a…read morephoto on IG and he went to town. I should have known right from the get-go that it wasn't going to be what I wanted based on the first step. He used stiletto tips and then cut it into a coffin shape, but the way he put the tips on was at a huge angle, and they were pointed up ward if that makes sense. Then, he piled on TONS of acrylic to make the top of the nail flat and make up for the angle underneath. When I mentioned they were too thick, he used the dremel to drill upward even further, and they were still crazy thick! If you viewed the nails from the side they looked like they were about to fall off. The way they were applied made the coffin shape look more like square. The nail art turned out pretty cool. It was different than what I had in mind, but it was definitely neat. I would consider going back to another nail tech for the acrylic and have Ryan do just the nail art. With the encapsulated glitter, he just made them WAY too thick (and I've had encapsulated glitter many times), and the shape was so off that it couldn't even be corrected without doing a new set. Stiletto tips shouldn't be used for anything other than stiletto nails.
