We talked with the coordinator in the Laguna Niguel location, AND we did a "meet and greet" and and in home inspection/consult. She was pleased with how our house was set up. Mom is easy care, quite self sufficient and ambulatory I was not going to be able to do much for a week or two and needed rest. Mom needed showers, meal prep and some supervision. We have a fall alert for overnight and emergencies. All but one of the FOUR caregivers were inept (we would have like to hire the one but she was already booked). One was not fluent and on her phone most of the time. I sent her away the day after surgery. So much stress they put my bed rest recovery in jeopardy! We had arranged for a hairdresser to come do Mom's hair and when she arrived there was some kind of mix up. We specifically asked for Mom smokers and two smelled like smoke. We did not use them again.

Aurora the owner actually comes in when a new caretaker starts to give a quick update on how to do things so I don't have to do it myself w/ training. They're competitive w/ pricing because they matched our previous agency. She's very quick on responses and keeps in contact with our concerns. They also have an app where you can see the schedule for the caregivers for the next week, read up on their care plan, and notes that the caretakers provide on our account. We're planning on getting her up on the hoyer, out of the bed, and into her wheelchair this week for physical therapy and hopefully soon to start going outside to get some fresh air. I have had wonderful service from the Nurses Maryann and Jill. They have cared for both my husband…read moreafter surgery 7 days a week and for my mother with multiple issues. When they say they are going to come they show up no issues. They show great concern, are available for questions by text and have aided in the recovery of my husband not getting an infection and in care of my mother with multiple health issues and falls. My mother is 91 and also has bath aide with Yolanda, this has been a huge help to me to have this assistance twice a week and has take some weight off my shoulders. She is so very kind and patient with my mother which is beyond wonderful. We have had Stan for PT for both my husband after surgery and my mom after falls and he is OUTSTANDING, compassionate and keeps my mom laughing which helps her spirit. If we need PT we always request Stan! My reason for only giving 3 instead of 5 is NOT the Nurses, Aides or PT it is SUPPLIES - they take months and I have to purchase supplies out of my own pocket then the supplies show up 2-3 months after ordered and WRONG things come, not even what was ordered. For example my husband had foot surgery and supplies were ordered by Jill, followed up at least 5 times and finally THREE MONTHS later they show up and there are multiple things never ordered in the box. In the meantime to avoid an infection I had to purchase supplies. Our recent order for a fall for my mom Jill placed an order on 07/10 and today is 07/22 - NOTHING - multiple follow ups by Jill and Maryann and still nothing. I am not sure why it takes so long for the supplies that are urgently needed for treatment to stop infections. If it is the company Bryam then SWITCH - but this has been an issue for over a year and is very concerning. I have spent hundreds of dollars purchasing supplies that either show up months later or never show up at all. My insurance is being billed for these supplies, but they show up LATE, if treatment was held off waiting on these supplies my husband could have lost his foot from infection. Bryam has a 1.1 rating which should tell you all you need to know about this company.

After a medical condition left my mother unable to walk she ended up in a skilled nursing facility for physical therapy to get her mobile again. Her doctor recommended 24 / 7 care. I called and spoke with Ryan who came out the very next day. We talked in detail about Mom's needs. He was comforting, reassuring, friendly, personable, polite, professional and knowledgeable. He made sure to include my mom in on the conversation. I've been with some people that overlook the patient as it may be easier and faster to converse with whoever might be assisting them. He made sure she knew she was the primary party in this process, listen to her needs and concerns and described in detail what they had to offer. Day nurses were MIRKA and ZARA. Their primary job was to see to Mom's safety as she was pretty much having to learn to walk again. They worked 12 hours shifts. They helped her to get in and out of bed, shower, keep her medications in order, got her meals, and assisted with the dog. They did laundry and changed bed linens. (We made sure not to ask them to do anything outside of the scope of their job description.) They took her vitals throughout the day and assisted with her physical therapy. They logged all that they did for her and noted how she was doing with things and progress she was making. Esmeralda was the night nurse. Also a 12 hour shift. Less to do while a patient is sleeping but she still worked and stayed attentive to Mom. She assisted her with bedtime tasks and checked on her hourly through the night; if Mom made any noises she made sure she was OK. Also logging things through the night. If Mom needed anything - getting to the bathroom, a drink of water - Esmeralda saw to it. She also tidied up anything around the kitchen or living room. All three of these women were kind and compassionate and receptive to Mom's needs. And they possessed all of the qualities noted above for Ryan. They were instrumental in Mom's healing. My hope, naturally, is that Mom won't need this kind of care anymore. But if so I wouldn't hesitate contacting LWHC. I cannot think of enough positive adjectives to describe them. I am forever grateful for them.
