Instead she went snooping into rooms upstairs where she WASNT Supposed to be. She stole 3 pairs of my high end leggings and 3 pairs of my jeans along with 4 pairs of cami tank tops that were tucked away safely in a drawer. Mind you she's not our regular care giver for my grandma . She was just here for a day becasue our regular caregiver was out sick. Director even told me assisted living isn't what they can do for you but how much staff time it takes. Then they unceremoniously tell you to leave. While you find somewhere, they are happy to raise your rate while cutting your service. Horrible management! Example: they claimed loved one was a 2 person + assist and aides were instructed to leave her in her room for all meals - in her lift recliner (where they also left her to sleep and go to the bathroom!) IT'S A LIFT RECLINER!!! I came in BY MYSELF and transferred her to her wheelchair (giving her time to get her feet under her and turn) to go to the dining room. I filmed it and the entire transfer BY MYSELF took 3 minutes and 30 seconds! this is what they claimed 2 or more of their staff couldn't do!!! PS - loved one is doing everything at the new facility that Clarendale said she couldn't do simply because they couldn't be bothered to give her literally a few extra minutes. They won't tell you this up front and have no qualms totally upending an elderly persons life for their convenience. Additionally, they screwed up submitting 2 months of insurance claims and after basically kicking her out, have not responded to requests for a refund on the entire months rent and care that was paid - we are out about $24,000 until everything can be resolved.

My mom lives in the Northwest Suburbs and we finally decided that she could no longer "do it…read morealone". We had gone through a lot with my dad before he passed away and so we knew what we wanted and what we didn't. Unfortunately, the informal network we used for my dad didn't have women caregivers so we were back to to square one. After doing a lot of research with the local senior center and online we called For Papa's Sake, which is based out of the town next to where my mom lives. From the very first phone call I suspected we had gotten lucky. After a couple of calls and some group discussion between me, my mom and a For Papa's Sake senior person we decided we'd try them out. And am I glad we did. They listened to my mom's and my requests, likes, dislikes, deal-breakers etc. and they never batted an eye. They did say it might take a bit longer than usual (given our needs) to find the right care giver, but they called back in less than 5 days and we had a care giver within 10 days to 2 weeks of that 1st main discussion. That care giver has worked out so well. It has really improved our lives and I can go days without worrying about my mom...what a relief. That's what For Papa's Sake provides: relief! If you are looking for an alternative to a nursing home or aged care facility or whatever you want to call it, For Papa's Sake really cares and I would encourage you to give them a call. They have worked out great for us and I would not recommend them for something so important if they weren't doing a great job.

Right At Home was entirely unlike this. A Josh Steiner came to our house to evaluate our home and get an overall idea on what services we required and which employees would best fit. Following this a gentleman named Zach Steiner came by with an employee to introduce and get started with us. As far as communication about employees and poss schedule change i have mostly dealt with Stephanie in the office who has always had a pleasant attitude and speaks very professionally on matters at hand. Some employees we have had for a weekly schedule but when needed they sent a fill in that was polite and able to meet our needs fittingly. All the employees helped us in all ways even when we have to leave the site for shopping or go on an appointment. I needed someone to stay at the hospital during the procedure and then take me home after. I met with Ryan who took all my information and matched me with one of their care givers, Daria. Daria was fabulous. My procedure meant I needed to be at the hospital at 5:30am. Ugh. We left my home at 4:30am and Daria didn't bat an eye at the time. Afterward, Daria pulled the car up to the hospital door, helped me in and took me to Target to help me get the one lens from my glasses removed that corresponded with the eye that just had surgery. Unfortunately, I was in a tremendous amount of pain and Daria was there every step of the way. I have already requested her for my second cataract surgery. I cannot say enough praise for Comfort Keepers and especially for Daria.
