My list of work for him continues to increase because as soon as he completes a project, everything else looks old and outdated!

This was the second time I've used Monk's for painting projects at my home in Morris Plains, and…read moreonce again I was extremely happy with the results. The first project, several years ago, involved painting multiple interior rooms and crown molding. Most recently, I hired them to paint three new structural porch columns and my front door. While that may sound like a straightforward job, it really wasn't. Black structural columns are not something you see every day, so preparation, product selection, and attention to detail were critical to getting the look I wanted and ensuring the finish would hold up to the elements. Bob came out to provide the estimate. He was professional, easy to work with, and, most importantly, took the time to listen to what I was trying to achieve and the concerns I had about the project. He was also able to get the work scheduled within the same week. I worked closely with Ron, who I believe was the lead painter on the job. He was incredibly knowledgeable and detail-oriented. I supplied the INSL-X primer recommended for fiberglass columns and discussed paint options with him. He agreed with the approach and helped ensure the project was done the right way rather than just the fastest way. The work took two full days and exceeded my expectations. The crew took great care to protect my brand-new porch, covering the decking and railings thoroughly so there was no risk of paint getting where it didn't belong. What really stood out was the follow-up. Both Bob and Ron checked in independently after the work was completed to make sure I was satisfied. They also made it clear that if any issues came up, they would come back and make it right. The pricing was fair, the workmanship was excellent, and the customer service was outstanding from start to finish. It's refreshing to work with a company that still takes pride in doing quality work and standing behind it. I plan to use Monk's again next year for additional interior painting projects and would not hesitate to recommend them.

They refinished and stained the floors, redid all the paint throughout the house (inside and out), replaced all the windows so that they actually open and close, let's see... there was more, but it's been so long! Very professional and open, honest, and looking to help you find your balance of value and quality. They are my first choice to come back to any time I have work to do - I note they don't do _everything_ I'm looking for (they'll redo my deck but not the walkway leading to it?), but for what they do, I trust them 100%.

I reached a point a few years back where the idea of painting rooms in my house was more than I could handle so I looked for someone to take over that task. I happen to be a member of the Martinsville Community Center, saw their sign on the front lawn. The rest, as they say, is history. My paint job is divided into two parts with the downstairs on the list for after my daughter's wedding in October. I am excited to have them back. It is amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do to the spirit. Again, I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with them. They were very pet friendly even after our 12-year-old chocolate lab left his nose print.
