I was looking for a white/cream/tan sleeper sofa. I walked in to HFC on the advice of a friend, and asked the store manager for this type of item. He immediately showed me a couch just in, explained its background, gave dimensions and specs on the mattress, and said that this sofa is one of the best sleepers the store typically receives. I appreciated the context. I thought about it for two days, then called in and ordered it over the phone on the spot. I worked with their delivery partners that day to deliver it. The sofa was significantly less than similar three-seat sleepers at retail price. When I had the couch fully situated in my apartment - I saw it was the perfect color and size for the space! This place is awesome. I've been here a handful of times now, and I've scooped up some treasured items. I feel like the HFC is a bit selective with what they're willing to sell, which I appreciate. One of the worst parts about furniture shopping for me is figuring out how to transport the items back. But the men working here are sooooooo friendly and helpful. They'll load up your car without you even asking -- taking all the awkwardness out of a situation that would typically give me pause. This place is conveniently located right next to a gas station and in a shopping center with ample parking and all the essentials -- trader joe's, fine wine & spirits, TJ maxx, etc. The store is well organized and easy to navigate. The great things about the store are: they quickly answer the phone and give you the email to send pictures! They have a nice selection. Then THATS IT. Don't try to bring anything to them. They don't respond to email. They don't call you to follow up or even say yes or no. I get the snob vibe from them. read more

Not a fan after I took some items there to sell. They tell you what price they will put on the items, not what you believe or know they are worth. They also charge you an annual fee of $50 for selling your items at their establishment. The fee allows you to bring items to the store for a year. You get charged this even if you just bring stuff there once. My items sold but I definitely feel I got ripped off as far as the payment I received. read more

It was fun walking around the store looking at everything, but we didn't find anything too compelling this time around. Some of the prices looked OK, but a lot of them looked high. We have stopped here a few times as a part of our trip to Trader Joe's. It's a good place to go if you are trying to find furnitures in vintage/victorian style. Don't assume that the price is low just because the furnitures are old and may not even be in good condition. A lot of things are overpriced for what it is. Don't get me wrong. Note the word "Consignment" in the name. This is not a thrift store! They offer both new and used furnishing. The quality of the offerings vary greatly. It is very hit or miss. Some of their used stuff is great and some should have been placed in the dumpster. I like it because it often has things you'll not find in other furniture/home stores. It's a place to check out if your looking to do some redecorating, etc. But don't expect thrift store prices. But a new leather sofa for $2400 isn't bad. Oh, and bargain a bit. They can be firm on their prices but they can also be flexible with prices on some of their stock. read more

I bought a very good quality marble dining room table and chairs here in 2011. Furniture is still holding up well, no complaints. The price and delivery were fair and the customer service was nice. The owners have character and like someone else mentioned here, this store along with the owners (lots of chracter) would be perfect for a reality show. Keep in mind it is a consigment store so the merchandise is hit or miss. This store would be perfect for interior decorators or someone who knows quality pieces. Love this place. Quality furnishings in great condition - from estate sales to floor models from major retailers. As with all thrift stores, it can be hit or miss but there are far more hits than misses here. If you're looking to furnish your pad this is worth the drive out of the city. read more

I bought a couch here, and I look forward to buying much, much more. The goods range from brand-new to antiques from the 1800s. There are occasional mid century finds here, although they seem to move quickly. They have a large amount of artwork and often have nice lamp pairings. read more

I unfortunately have had very poor experiences with this store. While they have many lovely items that people have consigned, I have found the customer service and attitude of the owners and managers to be extremely negative. When I have gone in to browse items and possibly purchase furniture, I have found the managers curt and rude. I had considered consigning some antique estate furniture from my family. When I showed the manager photos, he indicated, "Sure, we can take them. Just contact me a day or two before you want to bring them in." So I did just that. I contacted him midday on a Friday to say I hoped to bring in two furniture pieces on a Monday. I was then told curtly on the phone, "No, we can't accept anything for several weeks, and we don't do Mondays." I was told none of this in the store. They were only too happy at that time to have my business. I would not recommend doing any business with this store. They do not make it at all easy for potential customers. -C.H. Hern read more

What a great find!!! Mike and Joe are great. How is this for helping a customer. We bought a leather love seat at a great price but is would not fit in out SUV. Joe tied it to the roof of his SUV and delivered it for us. We bought a new home with more space so we need more things. We found a lot of great things at low prices. This is a great place to find pieces for your home at a good price. Check back frequently, as inventory turns over quite a bit. Also, prices get discounted after about a month, so you may get a deal. I've also sold there, and it's easy as can be. Just email pics ahead of time and get the okay to bring in your stuff. Just drop it off, fill out a short form and you're out the door. You'll get a check about 60-90 days after your items sell. I wish the turnaround were quicker, but that's the consignment business. read more

Almost got something here, but it had an odd odor. Probably pays to be leery of used, especially with bed bugs, wood beetles, and who knows what else. Some prices seemed okay, but looking "under the hood" it was learned why. Most stuff was overpriced. Got a nice sofa at Ramour and Flannigan instead. Bought a dining room buffet here; noticed shortly after it was delivered (and the men had left, of course) that it had a fresh scratch + dent PLUS a knob was missing. I took photos, sent the store an e-mail, and said I'd call in the morning to discuss. THEY called me first thing the next day and offered a FULL refund - no questions asked - and the refund included the delivery fee! Can't be more pleased with their customer service - wow!!
