I like the thought of reducing the number of cans and bottles I use when buying pop and sparking drinks. Every little bit helps. I noticed in my inbox that Bed Bath & Beyond had a $20 coupon of an entire order. I decided to use it towards my new Sodastream machine. I also ordered a bottle of raspberry mint syrup to get started on my adventure making fizzy drinks. I ordered online and used my coupon to get $20 off my order. I chose to pick up both items. The minor problem? The Sodastream model that I wanted was available at my local Markham location and not at this store. My raspberry mint syrup was in stock here, but not at the Markham store. Yes, I visited two different Bed Bath & Beyond stores within two hours. It was nice getting reacquainted with them. This store is with a bunch of box stores, including Winners, PetSmart, Best Buy, and more. There was plenty of parking on a Saturday afternoon. I browsed around the store. It was clean and bright. I looked at hand sanitizer and masks, and planted myself in the small appliances section for the longest time. I went to the pickup counter. My wait wasn't long. I gave the woman my name and a brief description of my item. She went to a couple of locked cabinets to fetch my bottle of beverage syrup. I provided photo ID (yay to an expired driver's licence that is valid these days during this pandemic) and the bottle was mine. I thanked her and left. On my way out the door, I was mesmerized by a cute Sun Bum ape mascot holding a tube of lip balm. I looked like such a tourist taking a photo of him. Sadly, he wasn't for sale. I advised the cashier there's poop on the floor. 10 minutes passed, it was still on the floor. I advised another staff member who rudely responded to me and said "I know I know, we've already been told" then turned her back to me. I told her I'm trying to be nice and helping them avoid avoid a situation where people would step on it. She responded and was rude about it again. I asked to speak with a manager I was told the manager is on break. I walked away. Another 5 minutes passed same girl and the assistant manager proceeded to clean the poop. As they walked by I said "it's about time somebody attended to it." The assistant manager rudely responded, we didn't know and was very confrontational. I said I reported twice, how do you not know. I asked to speak to a manager above her, I was then told that there is no manager on duty. I left and called the store (905) 850-8131, the assistant manager answered. I asked to speak to a manager, she told me that no manager tonight and for the rest of the weekend. After a few words back and forth she hung up on me, accused me of being rude to her and her staff. I called back again, she was rude and she hung up again. Not very good customer service at all after trying to help them prevent customers from stepping on dog poop. They offer in-store pickup at the customer service desk or curbside. They give you instructions in the confirmation email so you know where to go. This location has a whole lot for itself so there's tons of parking. There are shopping cart corrals throughout the parking lot as well for your convenience. If you're looking for a bite there is a Subway built into it although there are a lot of fast food options nearby as well. The employees here are super nice. There was a door greeter that maybe was there to check if people had masks on. There was a sanitizer station by them. I pulled out my phone to look for some items and they immediately asked us what we were looking for to offer assistance. Luckily we had the aisle and bay number of the product in question so he pointed us in that direction. Maybe I just haven't been to a Home Depot in a super long time but it is really convenient to look for something online, get the aisle and bay number, and find it in store. The bay numbers are prominently listed in each aisle. I swear I've never noticed it before but it's awesome. As for the online pickup, I was a little silly and left all my cards at home since I wasn't driving or paying that day. Don't forget to bring your ID and the card you paid with!! They need that in order to confirm your order. The rep that was helping us was able to work it out for us since I was with my dad (same address) and I had already paid online. This Home Depot location was definitely out of the way for us so it would have been a real pain to come back. The product was already in this location so they didn't have to run to the back and get it or anything. Some other interesting things that I saw were all the different plants they had. There are mini sweet pepper plants that have fruits, rosemary bushes cut like Christmas trees, and a lot of really pretty poinsettias. I wound up getting one of the latter.
