Since the move south and retirement I told myself I would get back into brewing. on my most recent trip to San Diego, I was fortunate enough to visit a few breweries in Vista and stopped by SoCal after seeing an AleSmith West Coast IPA recipe featured on their site, I called ahead of time, and the gal was nice enough to start filling my order. My brother-in-law and I arrived and walked in, greeted by the owner's mom. I told her I had called and she was currently milling my grain for me. It had been near 6 years since my last home brew (www.contributingfactorbrewing.com) and I was excited to bust out another all grain recipe. Now if I can only remember the steps. But that too was included in the recipe. Really a great, one stop show for all you beer needs. To be honest, I had no idea on the price but when I didn't have any other options available at the time, this worked out. That said, I have bookmarked them for future purchases, either online or in person. They might be a few dollars more, but it's a local, family run business. Who can't get behind that. The home that we moved into had a Kegerator with an under counter refrigerator and a tower with three beer taps. But nothing else came with the house as the taps were never connected to anything in the refrigerator. Steve was able to hook me up with everything that I needed so now we get to enjoy having a keg or kegs with great tasting beer on tap any time. Sam sent me some parts for free because the handle to open the refrigerator came loose because Sam was able to figure out that some washers were needed to keep the handle snug. The refrigerator's handle is now nice and snug! Sam was able to look up the original Kegerator's receipt for the warranty claim.

In addition to the basic brews, they had an amazing selection of craft beers. Saw so many releases I'd never heard of. Ended up going home with a White Chocolate Raspberry Torte (an imperial pastry sour from Wild Barrel Brewing) as well as Fistful of Gummies (a fruited sour from Second Chance Beer Co.) I don't usually splurge on craft beer but I was so intrigued by these offerings. They also had a lot of hard kombucha and hard seltzer to choose from, as well as a great selection of wines. Sad I didn't know about it back then, but glad I got to/ get to visit now. It's a store/ small taproom located in the Costa Mesa area a bit south of the South Coast Plaza shopping area. I'm continually pretty blown away with what they had available. The pour prices and the bottles seem to be really reasonably priced. A gem for the craft beer community and just a great place to hang out.

I thought I was going to have to go out and buy an entire new system. Instead, I texted a photo to Daniel and he knew right away what to do. Daniel had all the parts in his shop and completed the repairs (including drilling out the old broken parts to be able to install new parts) in 30 minutes.
