I have been taking my dogs to this kennel for a while - since it was called Home Away from Home. Unfortunately, I will no longer be returning due to the new management. It has come to my attention that my dog's profile was extremely incorrect. The kennel did not even have that he was neutered on his profile which restricted him from socialization (he got neutered at 4 months old) and had been going there since after he was neutered. There was a lack of communication from the kennel which really hindered our dog's experience. This is no longer a place that I trust my dog at. read more

I wish I could give the folks at Home Away from Home 10 stars. They have been nothing but kind, reassuring and sweet to my dog Vinny! He has been a daycare and boarder there for almost a year now.. and a year ago, he had never been boarded. The staff were very supportive and friendly about answering all of my questions since he had never been boarded... 7 days later it was like he had been there for years! This is not your typical daycare/pet resort. The owners live on property and treat each animal that walks through their doors like their own! I don't normally write reviews because I don't necessarily think my opinion should sway people, but Jill, Zephyr, and the staff at HAFH are a MUST see!! Daily pictures and status updates provided, and my dog comes home wagging his tail and happy as can be. It gives you peace of mind as a dog mom knowing that a group of people can care so much for an animal they don't own. I would highly recommend this business to anyone looking to board, train or use for daycare! They are like family to us. We will use HAFH whenever we can. We love you guys! read more

I am so please with Home Away from Home. I recently boarded my 12 year old dog and I was so pleased with everything. My dog spends most of her time with me at home. I was not stressed and did not hesitate to leave her there for boarding. It is so clean inside and out. All the employees and owner really care and love each dog. They send you pictures of your dog playing with other dogs and she had so much fun. I just can not say enough about the fantastic care my Lola received. I cant say enough good things. We have used Zepher for dog training and he knows dog behavior and is great ! Also did boarding. Jill and Corey and others always give us updates and never make us feel bad for calling to check in on our fur babies. I feel like they really care and I feel comfortable leaving my dogs with them. Prices are not inexpensive but training and boarding are expensive everywhere and their prices are inline with everyone else. read more

The new management is not equipped to handle any dogs less friendly then a golden retriever and actively discriminate against any fearful or skiddish dogs. The new owner is not trained on how to handle dogs nor does she know the first thing about handling dogs. She is in the business for the money and will give no cares about your dog. My dog has been boarded here several times without incident where they gave me updates of him playing every day and told me once he warmed up he had the time of his life. After trying to drop him off with the new management the prissy owner rejected my dog for barking once without giving him a chance and threatened to call the cops when I tried to tell her he was just a fearful dog and had some trama. She tried to grab my dogs butt when he wasn't looking and said because that startled him he could not stay. I would not trust my dog in this lady's care as she has made it very clear to me she does not care about the animals nor does she have any training in handling them. This place was amazing before the new management where the staff cared about and knew how to handle animals ; now it is a low class holding cell. I hope they sell quick read more

I have been taking my dogs there for years. It is the closest you will find to taking care of them yourself. Everyone who works there is fabulous and such a dog lover. Julie the owner, I just cannot say enough about her. She is one of a kind and an incredibly caring, wonderful person. Recently I took our 2 labs to be boarded while my husband was having surgery. My older lab who was almost 12 developed an emergency medical condition (she had underlying medical problems), Julie notified me there was a problem and rushed my dog to the emergency room. Unfortunately my dog had to be put down and Julie was just so compassionate throughout the whole process. She had taken beautiful pictures of my dog while she was there and healthy and presented them to me and one was beautifully framed. I cannot say enough about this woman and facility and her caring staff. Whether you need boarding or your dog needs a day of play at doggie daycare, this is the place to go. read more

I created an account just to write this review - because finding care for your pet while you are away is stressful! I searched far and wide for somewhere I felt comfortable bringing my dog while I was on an extended family vacation - and Home Away from Home was a breath of fresh air! The facility is clean inside and outside (seriously, it smells GOOD when you walk in), the staff is extremely friendly, and the space is small enough that you know the dogs are getting the attention they need and are carefully watched while they play together. The large kennels are a great size for your dog to feel comfortable resting in with their belongings from home. They offer the option to add on services like extra 1:1 time with the staff, treats and grooming for an up charge and they send pictures and updates via email regularly. My dog came home happy, healthy and tired from all of the play time he got on his own doggie vacation. You can definitely feel comfortable bringing your pet here. read more

Our family has a 4 month old Labradoodle named Baxter. We were very apprehensive to go away and leave him in a kennel. Thankfully, I found Home Away from Home online and contacted them immediately after seeing their welcoming website. I went to visit the facility and knew the moment I walked in that I had found a most unusual getaway for our beloved pet. The staff could not have been more supportive and caring. The facility was spotless and the pets are not in crates or carriers, but in immaculate, glass enclosed "stalls" with beds and stainless steel food dishes in each stall. The enclosed year is a large pebbled area that is also kept beautifully and there is substantial room for the dogs to run. In the main facility there is a "living room" where pets are taken for cuddle time and intimate time with the staff who are each so kind and clearly committed to their guests. The first night we were away, we received an e-mail which included photos of our beloved Baxter, with the message that he was having a delightful time and from the photos he was clearly receiving tender loving care from each staff member. This message was followed by a phone call to assure us that our little pup was doing just fine, eating and drinking well and toileting appropriately. When I went to pick him up...he did not want to leave. He kissed everyone there goodbye and they in turn hugged and kissed him. I can not say enough about the staff at Home Away from Home. They are clearly animal lovers and treat you beloved pet as if he/she was their own. I will never worry about leaving our Baxter with this charming and loving team. It is a comfort to go away knowing that our puppy in being loved and cared for as we love and care for him. I have boarded my beloved Boston Terrier at Home Away from Home on several occasions, over the past 6 years. And will only board her here. They are that good! This past week, while my baby was there as a guest, she had a little issue. Julie, the owner called me herself. She went out of her way, above and beyond to ensure my dog was taken care of. She spoke with my vet, and even picked up medicine. All to ensure that my pet was taken care of. She treats all her guests as if they were her own. Just another reason, that I highly recommend Home Away From Home for boarding of a beloved pet. In addition, Julie's staff are exceptionally kind and loving to their guests. I feel so comfortable when leaving my baby, as I know she will be taken care of, loved, and looked after, just like at my home. It is truly a Home Away From Home! Fabulous service!my dog stayed at Home Away From Home for 3 days/2 nights and he seemed to have a great time! I have boarded him before at another location and although they took good care of him, he was so stressed out from the "kennel" experience. Julie at Home Away From Home took the time to meet me and give me a tour of their facility. They have nice, clean glass door kennels which are big enough for my 75lb dog to get up, move around and stretch. Their outdoor fenced area is big enough to have the dog exercised and their playhouse is adorable. Julie sent me an email while I was away just updating me on what they were up to, including pics of my dog all over the place. You can tell these people really care about your pet. Price was definitely reasonable and our dog will most definitely be back! read more

We've boarded our dog several times here and have nothing but positive things to say. The facility is clean, the staff is friendly and loves dogs, and the kennels are spacious enough for our 100-lb dog. I like knowing that someone is on the property 24/7. Prices are extremely reasonable. I love getting photos and updates while we're away. Our dog is older and has lots of different needs - pills, special foods, etc. - but they've never failed to take care of everything. The last time he stayed at HAFH he was getting over a stubborn skin infection which flared up while we were gone. The staff did his topical treatments, kept us updated, and even kept him in the main area instead of his kennel for much of his stay so they could keep an eye on him. I know my dog is happy here and we feel so much better about having to board him when we travel knowing that he's safe and well cared for. read more

I've boarded my America Bulldog here a few times and couldn't be happier! The kennels are spacious and clean, the outside area is also well kept and the staff has always been very friendly. One aspect to this place (that I love) is the fact that they don't have play groups. Now, it might sound strange that I like that part, but it works really well for my pup. He loves people but does not play well with other dogs. So, while boarding here, he gets one on one time with a person in their play area, which is ideal for him. They also email you pictures of your pup at their facility - those are fun to get while you're away. Finally, every time I've picked him up he is super happy and seems like he really loves it there, which makes me happy. read more

This place is JUST AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Julie and her staff take such great care of my little guy Spike, and a nervous owner. This is the first good experience my dog has had at a kennel, whether for daycare or overnight visits. He comes home well rested and in great spirits. None of the "after the kennel" jitters. They offer tours of their entire facility so you can see exactly where your dog or cat will be staying; no smoke and mirrors here! She caters to your pet and treats them like her own! My dog is very timid, but Julie took the time to really get to know her and make sure that she was comfortable in her new surroundings. This place had been mentioned to me as a good place to board my cat. I stopped in and was immediately greeted by the sound of many barking dogs. I learned that the cats are boarded on the second floor, and when we went up there, I could clearly hear the dogs downstairs. Because of this, I decided that this would not be a good place to board my timid cat. I am one of those pet freaks. I had to move a year ago to the area, and due to travel for work, I have to find a place to board my cat. That felt so stressful, because cats often don't do great at kennels. I went to see the place and it was clean and had a nice set up for the cats. My cat has been to Home Away From Home several times now, and she does well there. Is she happy to go there? Nope. But once she is there, she warms up to them and lets them love on her. This place is wonderful. My dog has been going here for daycare since he was a little pup. He LOVES it here. I can't emphasize it enough. When we get there he can barely contain himself, he is so excited. One time we got there before it opened and he was whining and barking at the door to go in. The staff is amazing and very accommodating. You get daily e-mails with pictures about your dogs stay! The prices are extremely reasonable. The place is so clean, you can't even smell that dogs have been there. They have large very clean kennels with a cot for the dogs to rest. My dog has also stayed overnight there for at least 3 nights in a row and I always feel so safe knowing how much he is loved there and how much he enjoys going. This place truly is a home away from home for my dog. I also love the small play groups they have because I feel safe knowing my dog isn't running around with 20+ dogs.
