He's definitely a needy little man. Generally after a vacation, he expresses his displeasure that we left him by getting pretty moody - he has been so sweet and cuddly since we've been back! Obvious proof that he wasn't the least bit stressed out by our absence. She is obviously a cat person, which is what my two boys needed. They are pretty easy to take care of...no meds, no special diet or feeding schedule, and we have an auto litterbox. So what we really needed was someone to come in and give them lots of love and attention. She did that 10x over. :-) We requested a daily email just to make sure they were ok and she was kind enough to include a summary of the day's activities and lots of pictures. We looked forward to those emails every single day and did quite a bit of laughing. I would definitely recommend her!

This location does not seem to follow the national guidelines. Doggy day cares should have a minimum of 15 to 1 dog to boarder ratio based on active dogs. Most day cares are 10 to 1. Most Boston Dog locations have a minimum 20 to 1 ratio (possibly larger) which is too high unless all dogs are considered not active! What dog is not active, especially younger dogs? None! After having evaluated the Chelmsford location, I have decided that this location doesn't warrant a good review. The manager of Boston Dog Company at Chelmsford does not seem to really care about the dogs; it's a business, that's all. If you want a caring day care, don't go here.

This was my first experience with a pet sitter and I really didn't know what to expect. But when I first met Melinda she had a very calm and very friendly demeanor Simba and Bear seemed very comfortable and relaxed with her. We went out of town for a week and Melinda came to stay with our Simba and Bear while we were away and everything went very well. To ease my nerves, she was kind enough to send me emails and text with pictures and let me know they were doing just fine.  Melinda is extremely reliable and trustworthy. She is also very accommodating with changes in schedule and always returned my phone calls promptly. I feel she truly cares about animals and is genuinely concerned about their well-being. Running late, I called on occassion to see if they could go by a second time and they helped. My dog went through the obedience training with Tony and he was great to work with. Previous to then, we had always used kennels when traveling. At that time, our two dogs were young and healthy and emotionally balanced. We still weren't happy about boarding them, but we felt it was a safe option for them. We had had horrible experiences with different kennels -- including one that was located inside an animal hospital -- and we swore we would never board our pets again. We didn't know who we could trust to take care of our high maintenance dogs and to go in and out of our home several times a day. Who would do all of the things our aging pets needed, such as give them medicine, feed them their special diet, keep an eye on their health and so on. (One of our dogs was diagnosed with a slow growing cancer last September and the other is a dachshund that suffers from separation anxiety.) Well, we can't recommend Wendi, Michele and Naomi enough! In fact, all of the pet sitters they have sent us over the last three years have been so loving and caring. These sitters really love animals and you can tell from the notes they leave for us that they truly enjoy their work caring for the pets. ABW pet sitting is like finding a terrific babysitter where your comfort level is as high as it can go! I would trust them with anything!! We go away without fear now and when we return, our pets are exactly as they were when we left... they aren't anxious or upset in any way and they look great! ** During this most recent trip our lock wasn't working properly on the front door. I initially was reluctant to have a stranger stay in our home, while we were away, but my 2 large dogs do not do well in a kennel and our pet sitter has moved on to college. Upon meeting MacKenzie I immediately knew it was going to work out well. She asked careful questions about the dog's schedules so that she could keep their regular routines. MacKenzie was absolutely terrific. She stayed in our home for a week and our dogs were completely at ease and relaxed on our return- this is very unusual as one of our guys has a lot of anxiety. It didn't matter who was on the schedule because it changed frequently, so I never knew who would be coming. At first this shocked me. Then I realized there's nothing I could do about it. Some were good but others weren't! The owner lives in Florida and is clueless. The people who came didn't read the notes I left even though I put them on top of the leash and wrote them in the portal . The dogs NEVER got fresh water and I caught some of them going through my things! 1 actually got loud with my dogs! My dogs got so stressed they now have behavioral issues. There's no one to complain to because the owner doesn't want to deal with it or worse, spins it! She doesn't respond to emails or text if she doesn't like what's in them. She ignores and won't make thinks right. Glad they're out of our life.
