Over the last two years, we have purchased an LG dishwasher and a refrigerator from Jon at Home Appliance and the experience both times was fantastic. The showroom at the Avon location can be overwhelming at first, with the vast selection of brands ranging from ultra high end that you've probably never heard of, to normal everyday brands you've seen at the big box stores, but once you've been in the store a few times, it'll feel like home. Their kitchen displays are so nicely done and really give you a good feel for how an appliance could look in your home. Their prices are in the same range as what you'll find at big box retailers and they seem to be on top of their price adjustments when they have big holiday sales. We compared pricing on the dishwasher and fridge and what we paid was identical to Best Buy's sale prices and better than Home Depot and Lowe's! I always feel better supporting a local business than a big corporation. Our salesman, Jon made shopping here very enjoyable. He is very nice and knowledgeable about the appliance industry and can tell you which brands and models will suit your particular needs...smart features, sizing, budget, warranty repairs...Jon knows his stuff! There's absolutely no pressure to buy when you work with Jon, so take your time and do your research and he'll be happy to help you when you're ready to make the purchase. I wish more salesmen were like him! Be sure to follow Home Appliance on social media for special tasting events where you can try food made fresh in their kitchen! We had great difficulty in having our 8 month old Whirlpool washing machine serviced. First technician stated many main parts needed replacement. He came back two weeks later, after canceling us at least once, and he decided only one part needed to be replaced. Washing machine worked for one load and was again broken. After another week or two, Whirlpool sent out a different service repair company technician who fixed the washing machine within 15 minutes. We also purchased Epic Protect 5 year extended insurance when we bought the washing machine. According to the insurance, we are entitled to $50 for laundromat services. We have called and emailed epic protect multiple times and have not received any response. We also sent an email twice to our sales rep at home appliance regarding the insurance and asking for assistance, and have received no response from him. We have been happy with home appliance in the past, but obviously things are different now. read more

Sold me a GE refrigerator that was noisy with a frost issue in the freezer. After being turned down on a request to return the unit, I asked for a discount on a replacement but was also rejected. Ended up buying a Whirlpool from Home Depot and moving the GE to the basement. No noise issue with the Whirlpool, which Home Appliance claimed was typical due to today's technology. Couldn't be happier with the new unit. There's no consultative advantage in dealing with Home Appliance - they're merely order takers with an understaffed/over worked service department. You're better off dealing with Home Depot, Lowe's, Best Buy, or whoever has the best price. A very disappointing experience. read more

Save yourself some time and frustration and do not shop here. I thought going to an independent store vs. a big box store would be better - I was wrong! The delivery process and lack of communication and responsiveness was extremely frustrating. Praying I don't have any product issues as I am confident I would not get any support from the staff here. We have had literally the worst customer service experience of our lives with this store. We ordered an oven in early March and it is now late July and it is still not in working order in our home. They have ignored our phone calls and our request for a refund. They have periodically sent people out to try to fix it to no avail. This was a $9000 appliance and they refused to stand behind their reputation, which, as far as I am concerned is worthless. We sent a note to the owners, and they have ignored that as well despite all the great things they say on their website about making friends with customers. If you are looking for an appliance, take my advice and run from the store and go anywhere else. The review calls for one to five stars and it would not let me complete the review unless I put at least one star. Let me be clear, if there were an option for negative stars, I would've chosen that. read more

This was a great experience. We found a dishwasher we wanted but all stores were down to floor models and would not sell them . My daughter searched hard and finally found this place saying they had it . The sales person was very helpful on the phone ,and we purchased it over the phone . It was in on the day it was promised. Picked it up with no hassles , and I love it .The sales floor was amazing bright , clean an great products and displays. The building outside is well maintained , parking and pick up were a breeze .The price was equivalent to what I would have paid at Home Depot or Lowe's.We will be back for other purchases in the future . read more

Avoid at all costs! We were sold a washer/dryer combo and bought the extended warranty on them. Less than a year from the purchase, the washer malfunctioned and is useless. We called on the warranty, a tech has been out 8 times now and the washer has never worked. Home Appliance is refusing to take the washer and the warranty company is refusing to take it as well, after replacing the same parts multiple times without success. So, a bad washer and an entirely worthless warranty (neither of which were cheap). Home Appliance did provide a loaner washer so we could at least have a stop-gap solution. However, the tech installed the drainage hose incorrectly and now we have water in our basement. These guys will NEVER pick up their phones on the sales side. Even if you show up at the store, they won't look at you for 30+ min. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Even the big box stores provide more value than these hacks (and that's really saying something...). read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! We bought a Becko freezer from here October 2023. In January of 2024 the freezer blew out the GFI outlet. we plugged it into a heavy duty extension cord and plugged it into an outside GFI until an electrician could come and install a dedicated line and new GFI outlet just for the freezer. the freezer kept shutting off almost every night. Even after spending $675 for new line the freezer kept shutting off. We called for Home Appl. technicians several times to come out. The last time they were here they said they have replaced every part possible. After 5 days the freezer kept shutting off. My husband in August asked for refund. No reply from company. I went to the store and asked for refund on October 12. WE were told they have to get approval from claims dept. They can take your money there but cannot give refund. James Lisher the director of Purchasing was to call us. HE WILL NOT CALL. HE WILL NOT PICK UP HIS PHONE. It took 3 days before he emailed me in the evening to say it was up to the manufacturer to determine if unit is bad. Home appliance will not even pick up freezer to send back to manufacturer. We are stuck with a lemon of a freezer. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!! read more

BEWARE OF BAD BUSINESS From the very beginning, my family's experience with Home Appliance in Avon has been terrible. My mother (who is 80) was taken advantage of, and we believe coerced into purchasing a microwave with her oven. Her salesman did not disclose that there is no return policy; once the appliance leaves the store, it can't be brought back for a refund... for any reason. We learned this when we brought the microwave back once the button to open it broke. This was only after about 5 months of having it. My mother attempted many times to contact her salesman and he never would return her calls. The microwave was taken for servicing under warranty. Once repaired, I called to find out when it could be picked up. I was told that it was at the Brunswick service center and that we needed to pick up there. This is an hour drive one way. Upon arriving at the Brunswick service center, two different people said that they did not have any 'order' for us... that the microwave was not there. The manager then researched and found the microwave on a shelf, right near where we were waiting. The manager we interacted with at this location is the one (and only) person that is worth anything within this organization. He said that the microwave should have been brought for us back to the Avon location for pick up... As a family, we have lived in Huron/Lorain County all our lives. We know A LOT of people... Those people now know that this organization should not be trusted. If I could leave no stars I would. Their tactics should put them out of business, and I certainly hope it catches up with them. read more

I spent over $9000 on Zline appliances from Home Appliance Sales and Service. The dishwasher was not properly installed. The brackets should have been mounted to the top of the dishwasher but they were mounted on the side. The company will not install the dishwasher correctly because I removed the screws from the side. read more

I bought a Fisher & Paykel fridge from Home Appliance Sales and Service last February. It was installed in my place in August. It quit working at the end of October. It took me going down to the store to get on the repair schedule because my sales person would not return my calls. They subsequently sent a repairmen out six times over the course of 5 months. I had to call repeatedly to get these scheduled and once I had to go back to the store to talk to the sales manager to get the service department to get me scheduled. They finally agreed to replace the fridge in April. They came out they removed the old one and they installed the new one. In less than two weeks the ice maker quit working. The repairman came out and said it was a bad water valve. Two weeks later they have now replaced the valve and it still does not work. This Fisher & Paykel unit is a lemon of a fridge. Dealing with Home Appliance Sales and Service has been the worst retail experiences that I've ever been involved in. read more

Second time shopping here, likely my last. We purchased an oven several years ago and it was great price and what we wanted. Just purchased a dishwasher and this time anything but what we want. Picked up dishwasher and found it was not what we ordered. Throughbno fault of ours. Returned with promise of different model, problem is we needed to have it this weekend because of work schedule and upcoming surgery so we could do the installation. Now we won't get the new one until after the weekend with no time for install. Asked if they would split cost of install and was told they wouldn't do that. So, now we will have a dishwasher sitting in the box in the garage for 6-8 weeks or pay the $180.00 they want for installation. Not happy at all, can not recommend them. read more

Beware. We purchased a new Speed Queen washer and dryer. Within 3 weeks the heating element on the dryer blew. When AAA Appliance came out to fix it, we discovered that the unit had already been repaired months earlier. So we purchased a "new" dryer but they delivered/installed a used one. Home Appliance did replace the unit but with no explanation or apology. read more

My husband and I bought a refrigerator two weeks ago from this business after ours stopped working. We have a small opening in our kitchen for the refrigerator so we went shopping with the dimensions in hand to ensure that we didn't buy one that was too big to fit. We told the salesperson, Phyllicia Marshall (at the Avon store) exactly what we were looking for and explained that we needed a refrigerator that was no deeper than 24 inches. She helped us find one that she said would fit and we went home and waited for two weeks for it to arrive (having no refrigerator in the meantime). When it arrived, we discovered that it was much too large for our opening (by nearly a foot) so we refused the delivery. Even though we were willing to order another refrigerator from them, Phyllicia refused to waive the $750 restocking fee, regardless of the fact that she is the one who assured us in the first place that it would fit. She was very unprofessional to the point that she made it very difficult for me to speak to her manager and she insisted that she had told us that we were buying the biggest refrigerator that they sell. Obviously that was not true because we knew that a large refrigerator would not fit in our kitchen. We had given her the precise dimensions. Ultimately, I was able to speak to her manager and he helped me to the point that I decided to order another refrigerator from them, mostly because I didn't want to start this process over elsewhere. However, they never admitted her mistake and placed the blame on me and my husband saying that we didn't read the spec sheet on the first refrigerator (which we did and it included a depth measurement that was not quite accurate because it did not include the depth of the doors). It was the most dreadful experience I have ever had buying anything and I still ended up paying part of the restocking fee in the end. Also, I left without a delivery date for the next refrigerator because her computer was down. I was really hoping that this would be the new place where we could buy all of our appliances because their showroom is beautiful and it is close to where we live but I am afraid this will not be the case. I even asked the manager what my husband and I could have done differently considering we had the dimensions of the refrigerator opening in our kitchen with us and we looked at the spec sheet after Phyllicia gave us her professional recommendation. He told me that I need to look up the spec sheet on the manufacturer's website because the ones on their website may not be up to date or accurate (the ones that she had printed out and handed to us). This is a beautiful showroom with a large selection. Our high end beverage center broke down and we were planning on giving a local company the business with the purchase of another beverage center. After visiting the showroom once, the salesman did not return our phone calls. We made several attempts over the course of a week. Perhaps he was only interested in assisting customers who are buying large quantities of appliances for new construction projects. Whatever the case may be, we made our purchase with an online company and got our product at a cheaper price. read more

We cannot express enough how impressed we are with this organization. It's not a store. It's an organization. We have been doing business with Lenny Kaminski for years, but didn't know where he went after B&B closed down. Now I see why B&B is no longer. After we found Lenny again I Brunswick location, we found our latest appliances. Living in Avon, we stopped at the Avon showroom. It's more like a showplace. There was so many nice products to see under one roof. Products we had never been exposed to or had only seen in an ad or online. What a great process. Phyllishea ?? Was a huge help and a real treat to work with. We ended up with a Monogram 36" gas cooktop and an Elica 36" Varna hood. The delivery and install buttoned up the experience with a site visit ahead of installation. They removed and installed without incident.
