JJ Garcia Tree Service did an outstanding job from start to finish…read more They originally came out to trim my 50+ year-old oak tree and my 40+ year-old magnolia tree. The massive oak had been overshadowing the magnolia for years, limiting its sunlight and airflow. Their crew carefully opened up the canopy while preserving the beauty and character of the oak. When they were finished, the canopy looked absolutely incredible--perfectly balanced and still the centerpiece of my property. Driving up to my home, it's the first thing you notice, and it honestly looks even more beautiful than before. Fast forward a few months, and I noticed several large dead limbs on the magnolia that never recovered. I assumed it was my responsibility since I had waited so long to call, and I fully expected to pay for another service visit. Instead, JJ Garcia Tree Service responded to my message almost immediately, came out promptly, and removed the dead limbs without hesitation. That level of customer service is incredibly rare today. They stood behind their work, were professional, responsive, and genuinely cared about making sure everything looked right. It's hard to find contractors who not only do exceptional work but also continue to take care of their customers after the job is complete. If you need tree trimming, tree removal, or simply want honest professionals who take pride in their work, I can't recommend JJ Garcia Tree Service highly enough. They have earned my trust and will be the only company I call for any future tree service needs.

They came out and gave us a good and timely estimate and then arrived promptly to do their work. A couple of our trees had large branches hanging over garages and neighbor's property. I wanted to give this company an opportunity to address my concerns before posting this review, but…read moreafter two days I have not received a response. I hired TreeMD to work on my pecan tree. Before I agreed to the job, I asked if the $1,300 price could be lowered. I was told it could not because the support cables alone cost around $500, which led me to believe the cables were part of the work. After the job was completed, I was told the cables were not included because they weren't listed in the written quote. Due to a delay, the damaged limb later fell onto my power line, and I was charged an additional $500 to remove it, bringing my total to $1,800. During the work, my fence, three flower pots, a decorative butterfly, and a pedestal were damaged. No one informed me about any of the damage. I discovered it myself after the crew left. I understand that tree work is difficult and accidents can happen. My disappointment is with the communication, the lack of accountability for the property damage, and the way my concerns were handled. Based on my experience, I will not use this company again.

When I first decided to have a couple large (15-20ft, 41 year old) trees in my yard removed, I gathered referrals from neighbors and NextDoor. I contacted 4-5 companies over a week for quotes, knowing availability, professionalism, service, and cost would vary across companies. I was able to schedule the initial quote with R F Trees with ease via text and they were very flexible with my schedule, responsive, and very communicative in coordinating - From coordinating the time, messaging me when Tony was on his way, and when he arrived (2minutes early, at that!). The quote took 15min, and Tony provided a written quote as well as current dates his crew could be available. As a female homeowner, I dread getting estimates for projects the same way I do when I take my car into the dealer for service...However, Tony was professional, provided a fair, reasonable, and comprehensive quote, and was genuine throughout. I told Tony I was getting quotes and would revert within a couple days. Tony was the most professional of the companies I considered, from a really cool and professional business card, to the comprehensive written quote, to his open and consistent communication throughout the process. Other companies showed up unscheduled ringing my doorbell for quotes (which is not ideal, as I work from home and have conference calls/meetings most of the day), only provided verbal quotes, or weren't as communicative. Although R F Trees was not the lowest priced quote (and also not the most expensive), I've learned with all services and contractors to get multiple quotes, but to also vet out and consider all interactions pre-project to minimize headaches during/after. The day of service went smoothly and as expected. The crew showed up as scheduled and got to work. They were on time (also, 5-10min early, worth mentioning again, as that almost never happens with service providers!) and completed the project within the estimated timeframe. The crew was very mindful of windows/my home (the trees were in a tight space between structures with multiple branches hanging over my roof), other trees/plants, gates and fences, patio furniture, and decor. They were also very conscientious of cleaning up - They did not leave a single stray twig or leaf behind and also ensured they closed every gate upon leaving! I would absolutely recommend RF Tree Service to anyone looking for a professional, friendly, and fair tree services.

After several days, I gave up and called Garrett Tree Services and spoke with Theo,. He came over to the residence very quickly, took a look at the problem and made his suggestions. I thought I was dealing with a major fungus problem with a tree and a large shrub, it really looked bad. But he said that this could be normal aging, treatment wasn't needed at this time because that was very expensive to do, and that we should just prune and clean up the plants and see how they did, revisiting the issue if it recurred. it looked pretty bad and I figured the neighbors thought we were trashing the street. :-) Anyway, Theo turned up the next day with two other people and in about an hour they had the large pear tree pruned and cleaned up, the large shrub in front of the house pruned and trimmed and shaped, and they hauled away a large limb from a water oak that had fallen in the last storm. He charged a very good price and I was happy to pay and not worry about things anymore. If there are issues down the road, then I can call Theo, and we'll look at it and discuss it again, but for now I think everything's in great shape and the front garden certainly looks better attended. Thanks, Theo!

I chose Texas Hill Country Trees because their reviews and ratings were the strongest, simple as that. Our backyard is all artificial turf and rock, so I was nervous about damage. Jeff sent a quote within 24 hours, included his insurance, and reassured me they work over turf all the time. That alone gave me peace of mind. The quote was fair, and the crew came out the very next day. They showed up on time, got straight to work, and every single person was professional. Before anyone looks at the photos I'm posting, I want to point something out. I knew going in that I'd have some cleanup to do afterward. With the amount of work needed, especially grinding down the stump, I wasn't expecting the area to look perfect. They're tree trimmers, removers, arborists, not landscapers. And honestly, considering the work involved, they left the space in great shape. The rest is just me doing the final touches so it looks the way I prefer it. Blame it on my OCD. As for the one‑star review calling Jake rude, I'm sure there are two sides to that story, because my experience with him was completely different. I arrived about an hour after they started, and Jake introduced himself immediately. He walked me through what they were doing and explained how they were protecting the turf. He was professional the entire time. I HIGHLY recommend Texas Hill Country Trees. Don't let one angry review scare you off, my experience from start to finish was excellent.

The crew blocked my driveway while performing work in the neighborhood and showed little regard for common courtesy or respect toward neighboring residents. Before the issue escalated, I politely informed the crew that I would be leaving soon and that they would need to move their vehicle. I initially allowed them additional time to continue working. However, after they ignored my requests made from my front doorway, I was forced to approach Jake and the crew directly to clarify what they were doing was illegal and I need to go to work. Despite my repeated requests, they became argumentative and used profanity toward me, including calling me a "bitch," when I confronted them and insisted that they stop blocking my driveway and move their vehicle immediately. When I arrived home approximately five to six hours later, I discovered several trash bags filled with organic waste left on my side of the alleyway located between their client's residence (my neighbor's property) and my own. The waste appeared to have been left behind by the crew, further demonstrating a lack of professionalism, consideration, and proper cleanup practices. I found the behavior of both Jake and partially the crew to be highly disrespectful, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Please do your due diligence when hiring so called, "professionals."
