Terrible business practices at Homage. Let's start at the top. I purchased a tee shirt as a gift and added a very important and sentimental message with it. The tee shirt shipped and there was no message included. The moment was gone but Homage offered a $10 gift card as a consolation prize. I was still disappointed but thought I would give them a second chance. This time I ordered a tee shirt for myself, but since times are tough and I am on a budget I used my gift card and took advantage of their so called "mystery" tee shirt thinking I would get something wearable. I was wrong again. Instead I received a purple shirt that nobody in their right mind would wear. So "mystery" means "crap that never sold" vs. a random quality selection. Strike 3 is when I asked to return the "mystery shirt" I was told it was final sale and there was nothing they could do about it. So needless to say... do not send any gifts from Homage to friends or family, don't ever order a mystery tee and finally do not expect anything to be done in the spirit of good business practices by this company. Unquestionably the worst company in the United States. Do not order from Homage. It is not worth it. On December 5th, I placed an order on its website. The order confirmation page stated that my order would ship in 7-10 days. I did not receive the order until after Christmas and was unable to gift these items. In numerous communications, Homage employees were misleading and deceptive. After returning the poor-fitting clothing to Homage, Homage offered repeated excuses as to why I have not yet received a refund. I still have not received a refund. It has been almost a month since these items were returned to Homage. This experience has been unreal. Do not order from Homage. You may either not receive your order or a refund for the items that you return to Homage. In my opinion, Homage is either run by incompetent people or is committing consumer fraud. This has nothing to do with their product, but rather their operations: slowest shipping. Their site says 3-5 days. In my purchase of 5 different shirts...it has never taken less than 5 days. And in fact usually goes out on the 6th business day. I'm not including weekends, I'm I a financial adviser with a masters in economics for a top 5 financial firm. Whenever I travel I usually like to pick up something from the area that is nice and that I would actually wear, not too touristy and cheaply made. The clothes in this store are well made and good quality yet unique and from Cincinatti. The employees are really friendly and told us that everything is an additional 30%. We picked up a shirt for me and long sleeve for my BF he liked the fit of the long sleeve and i liked the $20 price tag LOL! So cool that they gave us 2 bottles of coke from the coke machine! They're helpful, know their selection, and the store is extremely organized. Good location. Near OTR. Plenty of parking. So you can walk here if you're in the area grabbing a drink or shopping. Prices might be a tad steep, but not far off comparable apparel stores. The selection, in my opinion, is much better, though. This place is dope. Cool store layout. The staff is super friendly. The clothing designs are slick. The t-shirts are about as comfortable as it gets. Love the way they fit (neck hole could be a bit smaller, but that's okay). The t-shirts are a bit pricey at $32 though...wish they were less expensive. Word of advice: Park on the street near the store. There's a parking lot across the street from the store that charges you $8 (!), which is good for 4 hours. If you park a block or so west of the store....whoa mama, it's a sketchy area where I didn't feel safe. read more

When I heard that Homage was opening in the Over the Rhine area, I was super excited! Love the quality of their clothing. Homage sells unique/inspired vintage apprarel (sports, pop culture themes, music, politics, etc). This location carries everything from T-shirts, hoodies, long sleeves, sweatpants, headwear, socks, etc. They have a good selection for womens, mens, and even youth/babies. Recently, I purchased the Block Cincy Mens shirt for my husband ($32.00) and one for me Youth (12) for $20.00. What I love is the material, which is soft (Poly/Cotton/Rayon Blend) inlcuding the screenprint at the chest. It's also slim fit and not bulky. There were many more items I wanted to purchased, but will have to wait till next paycheck. They had a great selection of Bengals, Reds, and Bearcats! Employees are very helpful and store is very organized. If you cannot find a specific item, there is also online shopping. A great experience and will definately return. read more

This has a chance of being a great store but the biggest issue I have with this place is the small amount of choices and quantities of actual local schools you can buy here...online too. I mean come on guys! You are located in CINCINNATI and you barely have any UC apparel, not to mention Miami or Xavier. But if you are the typical OSU bandwagon fan you can find a TON of this crap, along with Ohio U stuff. Just go to their website. Pages on pages of OSU stuff, but not even a full page of local teams. I would really think that if you proclaim to be a store in OHIO and you're located in Cincy...actually sell Cincy stuff. All the other schools should be secondary. Or at least offer the same amount of options. All your other stores in the other cities can sell their local teams. We had an absolutely wonderful time at this store this weekend! We stopped in on a whim-- I've been in before, but have only looked longingly at the soft t-shirts, hoodies and sweatpants-- and lo and behold, they were having a wonderful sale, 30% off all their clearance items. Any Ohio lover will absolutely love the products in this store. There are plenty of modern designs as well as throwbacks to old places and events in the tri-state area. Everything is local within a hundred miles or so, and you can find shirts with everything from Skyline Chili, to Miami University, retro Flying Pig Marathon logos, to OU gear. I was able to get an OHIO baseball tee and a Kings Island t shirt (with a retro logo) for a great price. The service was also incredibly friendly... sometimes chatting up customers can seem forced, but the employees were genuine and lovely to talk to. Upon check-out, we were offered free glass-bottled Cokes with our purchase. I will definitely be back in the New Year to see what kinds of fun apparel they have. read more

I love this place. EVERYTHING IN HERE IS SOFT. If you're like me, you're a fan of comfy for sure. I love the vintage themed t-shirts and sweatshirts. The sweatpants are beyond compare. They are seriously the most comfortable pair of sweatpants I own. They would be an everyday wearable if work would let me. The vibe is nice, very hipster-y (they have a vintage coke machine!). The guys are nice though. The prices are a bit high, but the quality is great and you're paying for made in the US type of clothing. For those of you who are unaware, Homage is a Columbus based tee shirt company that was founded by a few Ohio State grads. They are known for there super soft and trendy....and sometimes hipster shirts. I've known about this brand for several years and as with Kim W. was excited to hear they were opening a Cincinnati store. I believe its their first venture outside of Columbus and while I might be a tad biased, was excited to see that they chose the hip OTR neighborhood. Their new store is definitely a nice addition and really does fit the new vibes of the neighborhood. All that being said, you might be asking yourself why the low review. Well, I recently visited this store looking for a nice Ohio State tee for my mom for Christmas. Upon entering I couldn't believe my eyes when I could only find two different options for Ohio State tee's. While I understand that they are trying to cater to the area and offer lots of regional gear, I was disappointed in their selection when it comes to my favorite Ohio State Buckeyes. In case you weren't aware, Ohio is one of the few states in the U.S. where the majority of every county in the state roots for Ohio State. So why ditch some of those plan red sweatshirts or random Indiana U. gear and add some more Buckeye's stuff!?! No Christmas gift for Mom this year, but I'm hopeful my next visit will be better. read more

I haven't reviewed anything but restaurants before now so that should say something. Having been a long time lurker of their website with a purchase or two under my belt I have been really looking forward to a trip to a storefront. I live just across the border but don't make it up to OTR often. Today I made my maiden voyage to the shop and I was quite impressed. The same quality I had expected and luckily came at a good time. The store was 25% off. The prices are high so the discount really influenced my buying decision. The quality is top notch so I am not saying overpriced just not something I would consider cheap. (Nothing worth having is in my opinion) I regretfully didn't get the name of the sales associate that helped me however he was excellent. He answered all my questions and made me aware of new inventory as well as seasonal clothing switch overs. He had a Griffey Swingman tattoo on is upper arm if that singles anyone out. (I would expect it to anyway haha) As noted by a few other yelpers they also offer a free coke when you come in. Pretty neat, old school glass bottles that goes great with the retro theme you will find scattered across the walls. A few things that stuck out to me, an avid sports memorabilia collector were the defunct Cincinnati Royals oddities as well as the "Bengals Backers" banner. I hope in the future they can come out with a Ken Anderson shirt/hoodie as that would be a very cool addition to my wardrobe. Whether that becomes a reality or not I will certianly be back and look forward to more dealings with Homage. Edit, I forgot to mention the added bonus at the bottom of my bag I saw once I hung up my purchases. They apparently throw in a pack of 90s sports cards with every purchase. Another great addition to the Vine Street scene. I had visited their store in Columbus previously, and am happy to see an empty storefront get some new life! I checked out the shop before the Holidays, but ended up ordering online because I was looking for Browns merchandise. They've definitely catered the items to the Cincy scene which is nice. (It didn't help me for Christmas shopping, but I still appreciate it!) They have a whole host of things from hoodies to hats to socks, but their appeal (at least to me) lies in their super soft tees and vintage designs. Be ready to pay more than you normally would for a tee though. A bit of advice, after looking at a few items in the store to gauge sizing, I went a size up on everything. These definitely run SMALL. Like, a full size smaller than other tees. I'm used to that in ladies shirts, but size up even in their men's stuff. I did, and the sizing ended up perfect. read more

I visited this store on my last tip to Cincinnati. This is a very cool and unique store in one of Cincinnati's cooler neighborhoods. Located in Over the Rhine, it fits right in with the neighborhood vibe. First the the look of the store is super cool. I loved the exposed brick, old arcade video game and sports decor. The staff is very cool. They are more than just accommodating, but I had a good time chatting with them about sports or just whatever. The real reason you come here is the super cool vintage clothes. I love all of the old school sports t-shirts and sweatshirts. The designs are cool and will give any sports fan from 80s and 90s a heavy dose nostalgia. I purchased a vintage looking Cincinnati Royals t-shirt (an NBA team that would move from Cincinnati and eventually become the Sacramento Kings). For making a purchase, they let me take a few packs of baseball and hockey cards from the 90s. I'm not sure if this is typical, but an example of how cool this place is. There are, however, two negatives. First, the section of clothing is very Cincinnati and Ohio heavy. They have some other Midwestern teams, especially from Chicago, but do not expect a ton of variety outside of that. Given it's location, I'm too surprised. Second, it is expensive. Although that's typically for this type of this vintage/retro clothes to be a little pricy, spending $30+ for a t-shit is never too much fun. Despite it the negatives, this is a must visit when in Cincinnati. If you're a sports fan or a fan of vintage looking clothes you will likely find something you like enough to send the money on. At very least, it's a really cool place to browse and explore. read more

My only complaint is that the staff aren't very welcoming and never seem as though they enjoy being there.
