It was so good I had to go back! The Brunch bowl is what I order both times ( I wish I tried something else) and the "grit balls" were delicious. Service was fast and prompt even with a full house. And the woman at the counter (she was in the kitchen and ran food, greeted guests as they pick up their food, possibly a chef) was EXTREMELY nice and outgoing. She seemed to really enjoy her position and kept order in the kitchen. Food was delicious if I haven't already said so, so much flavor, a Carolina quality kinda spot! I highly recommend to anyone looking for an exceptional, yet casual place to dine. Thank you Grit Counter!

The parking lot was packed, and most tables were already taken when we walked in, which is always a good sign. You order at the counter and then grab a seat while they bring the food out to you. The menu is extensive, with plenty of dishes built around grits (as the name suggests). I went with the chicken and waffles, and it was loaded with flavor--crispy fried chicken breasts, a Belgian waffle, chunks of bacon, and a blueberry compote on the side. The whole plate was enormous; I definitely didn't finish it. My husband ordered the fried chicken and fish platter with French fries, and it was equally generous in size. We also started with the grit fritters as an appetizer, and they were fantastic--crispy on the outside and a nice surprise inside. Overall, the food was really on point with big, satisfying portions. The waitstaff seemed super busy but stayed friendly and attentive. The only downside for me was having to bus your own table at the end. Prices for lunch felt a little high at first glance, but when you consider the huge portions, they're pretty reasonable. We'll definitely be heading back soon.

At one time I saw multiple employees 4 in the kitchen, yet all the hot coffee dispensers empty in the morning with no customers in line and a couple customers seated. On a second visit today, cashier said no more large soda cups, and said only medium cup available. Also when my wife made a order separately from mine, she asked if any perks available for food/bagels, the cashier said No. When my wife asked where is the menu for bagels to know what kinds available as she would order for family members at airbnb vacation home, the cashier pointed to the wall and said look there at the bagel shelfs, which were almost empty with 3 remaining flavors. My wife ordered 6 bagels for $11.xx... YET later my brother in law at home said on Tuesdays, the special is one dozen (actually 13 not 12) bagels for $9.99+ Yesterday, a cashier asked me if I would like to order anything else besides the "free drink" sip club. You need to re evaluate how to phrase questions towards customer. Also, your outdated system still does not have self-order kiosks, making it even more inconvenient especially when there is a line of customers. Quite the customer service or lack thereof. Management needs to retrain the workers to say the least.

5/5 Stars - Absolutely Incredible!…read more This spot is a total gem. We ordered a vanilla cinnamon iced latte, a cappuccino, a smoothie, a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel, and a strawberry pop-tart, and every single item was outstanding- gluten free options too!!! The breakfast sandwich was perfect--flavorful, fresh, and served on a perfectly toasted everything bagel. The strawberry pop-tart was unreal, an elevated treat, and the drinks hit the spot. The iced latte had just the right balance of vanilla and cinnamon without being overly sweet, the cappuccino was expertly crafted, and the smoothie was incredibly refreshing. Beyond the food, the vibe here is immaculate. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the background music is great, and the workers are exceptionally friendly. It's the perfect place to kickstart your morning. We will definitely be back!

It is much more casual than I thought, with some of the menu (like bowls and salads) already made and ready to grab from the fridge. So happy we ended up staying because everything was fantastic. We ordered at the counter, grabbed drinks from the fridge and found a table on the side, covered patio. Food was brought out super quickly and it was absolutely delicious. I got the St. Philip pita, which was incredible and almost tasted like a halal cart chicken sandwich in the best way. It was so filling and so good. It came with a really tasty side salad. My fiance got the BLT which was just as great. I can see this being a really ideal space to bring my laptop and get some work done if I lived in the area. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a great, casual space for breakfast, lunch or coffees.

Are service was good, wait for food wasn't bad at all. Everything was done well... but I honestly didn't like much of it. It just really defined "not for me". Like the French toast was good except it was just drowning in syrup (rather than letting me put it on myself) and the rosemary flavor in the syrup was not to my taste. If this had been on the side I would have tried a bite and then just asked for regular maple syrup and been happy. The mocha donut, same story. The mocha was bitter and if this was on the side I could have dunked my donut in but instead I didn't have a choice. I'm not mad about it. They are clearly aiming for a particular mindset on food. Something different, something unique, something strongly defined. And I can appreciate and respect that and everything was definitely well executed! But I really would have preferred to have the option to have a more traditional set of flavor profiles. J.Ja
