I was also planning to ask about booking multiple days of guided trips, so I was looking forward to meeting the staff. Unfortunately, my question was met with what felt like a dismissive attitude, and the interaction came across as unwelcoming. It wasn't the kind of customer service I expected from a local fly shop, especially one that also offers guide services. Because of the experience, I decided to leave without making any purchases or asking about guided trips. I hope this was just an off day, and that they work on creating a warmer, more welcoming environment for future customers. Great customer service is one of the most important parts of a successful guide business, and I hope they recognize the impact those first impressions.

One of three courses at Sunriver Resort, Woodlands is accounted by many as the best. Indeed, it's a…read morefine golf course. - Well designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr - Well maintained by Sunriver Resorts. I saw few on-course defects. - The course is not terribly difficult if you can hit the fairway. There's not a lot of water but quite a few bunkers, including fairway bunkers. - But the course shows its fangs when you land in the second cut of rough. It's quite punitive. Your ball may disappear. - Greens are lightning fast. I found the subtleties of the breaks difficult to read, as did my playing partners. - Carts are nice. No GPS. You can buy a yardage book for $10 (I use a GPS golf app). - Plenty of practice greens and a medium sized driving range. I didn't see a practice bunker. - Cost is steep but Deschutes County residents get a discount. - Pace of play is good and we saw a marshall a few times while playing. Round took 4.5 hours. A really nice and informative starter controls things at the clubhouse. - There was no beverage cart when I played but I suspect it was because of the cool temps and it being late in the season. If you want to play but don't have clubs, I noticed you can rent a really quality bag. Not like the junk available at a lot of courses.

An additional hidden "drought surcharge" that is not shown on any disclaimer or your emailed invoice. You can only discover this fee on ONE page and you have to manually expand the taxes and fees after noticing that there should be no tax and that the fee amount is more than 5%. When we contacted customer service we were met with arrogance and disdain, and no customer service. We asked them to explain what the hidden surcharge was and they then told us to 'NEVER CONTACT THEM AGAIN'. ??? We have ridden here before and experienced the same general disdain in person. You get the feeling they don't want customers and the trail rides are the worst part of their jobs. I have ridden most of my life and done multiple guided rides across the US. Sunriver Trail Rides was the worst experience by far. Between the ride being shorter than the promised time and the hidden fees it is a money grab with no real passion or care. We recently booked at another ranch, and we will continue to use other ranches in the future even when staying in Sunriver.

After I indicated that we were just waiting for our kids to return from their trail ride we were told we were on a private road and needed to wait in the parking lot... I'm glad my kids enjoyed their ride, but as a paying customer this left a bad taste in my mouth. Staff could have decided to be respectful towards my wife and I. Unfortunate. We bit the bullet and made a choice to stay at Sunriver Resort for our daughter's tenth birthday…read morecelebration. With that, we get access to The Cove. Which is Sunriver Resort's aquatic center for guests. It has both an indoor and outdoor pool, hot tub and slide. (the indoor one is FAR bigger.) There are lounge chairs a plenty but they do fill up quickly. We got here right at opening (10am,) because I called last night to inquire as to what time the best time waa to make sure we can get a spot and enjoy the pool. I was told it's busy from about 11-5:30 and that the least busy is right at opening at 10am. So we made it our mission to get here for then. So far we have been able to enjoy everything and are preparing to enjoy drinks and food we can order poolside while we relax. Kids are enjoying the pool and friends while we get some much needed vitamin D and pool time. The views of Bend and Mt. Bachelor are spectacular and this is a beautiful pool area and great center!!! Hop on over as a resort guest and enjoy!!

On 4th of July - 2008 - we went to a quilt show that the ladies put on. They were so jolly and…read moreexcited...and some were master quilters. Just amazing pieces of art. The Senior Center was clean - smelled wonderful - everyone was happy to be there. We had a few little ladies follow us through that loved talking about the antique quilts that were from their family's...and my sister bought a piece that was for sale. It was a great time at the Senior Center. Slam bang of a building also!!
