    Goat's cheese salad
    Devi A.

I've been in the Hollywood inn a few times. Traditional Irish pub and restaurant that dates back to 1790?? this is my place... I loved it and I used to go there exclusively for the guinness and the irish stew. I decided to come back and mamma!!! Men and women of this earth... you have to try the "Warm Ardsallagh Goat's Cheese Salad With roasted beetroot, mesclun salad & pistachio nuts", oh God! the goat's cheese texture is...!!! and they added some kind of sweet dressing... I couldn't stop saying UHMM for the time this experience last... I have to come back again. I asked the beautiful staff to bring all together as I ordered one of the specials "Blue Cheese Burger" and I thought it was going to be a good combination... I can't express my happiness. I'm not an expert in guinness beer... but this is fantastic, creamy head, beautiful after taste. yes!! The staff were so nice, they always are. Easy to park, prices are great. The place is very comfortable "I had to ask which door was the ladies room hahah it was in irish, and I went ...mban?? and don't remember the second word... I just know I picked the right one. hahah" I'll come back, I'll come back! Fully recommend it! if I had a human family I'd bring them, cats and dogs are not allowed... :(

    Smoked Salmon Salad

YUM! This has been the best food that we've tried here in Ireland. And the service is amazing. For dinner my husband had the Hollywood Inn Smokies entree which was smoked haddock and it was simply amazing. I got the smoked salmon salad and that was also very delicious. For anyone visiting- the Hollywood Inn Smokies is a must!

    Fine Sunday afternoon.

A good place for food if not as cool as Tutty's across the road. The grub is excellent and competitively priced but the service staff are far too attentive. We went in for a pint one Sunday afternoon hoping to watch the final matches of the Ryder Cup. Every Ninety seconds a waiter came and asked if we were ready to order which disrupted our enjoyment of the atmosphere. We would have preferred if the staff had just admitted there was no wifi in the restaurant rather than tell us our phones were both at fault and the iPads of the American visitors beside us were at fault. They later admitted they had no wifi. We still ate here and the food was really great. Then we went across the road to Tutty's for the wifi and the craic.

Crumbled goats cheese salad - amazing!

The dark wood table tops and cast iron bases just make me feel grounded. One of the hosts asked if I had a reservation, and I was almost sad because I didn't expect it. She was kind enough to seat me anyway. I don't know her name, but she was lovely, golden hair, and bright green glasses! I was served by Avinash, who had a warm demeanor. My phone was about 20% and he kindly let me charge it; hence why I do not have any photos of the meal :) at the end of the meal, when I asked for an espresso, Avi came back with my phone as well-- a nice touch of remembrance. I had the slow cooked lamb leg, with potatoes, carrots, and rosemary stuffing with a balsamic mint sauce. It was divine. It was my first meal of the day, and I savored every last bite. The atmosphere was just what I needed. 5/5 would return. And did yall know they got first editions of Bam Stoker, Oscar Wilde, and James Joyce??? Sheeesh.

This was a sizable restaurant with an large outdoor seating area. Inside was nicely decorated and busy. I ordered the Seafood chowder that was thick, hot and with nice spice. After two mouthfuls the Corned Beef Rueben came out which made for a difficult decision to eat what first. The corned beef Rueben was ok, not as good as The Temple bar, too dry and a far 10th to my own juicy corned beef. While waiting for the check, I headed to the head to wash up and upon arrival back, my remaining beer was gone and table cleared as they thought I left. I Paid the bill and on my way. Place seems like a great place To hang outside during warmer weather although it seemed the staff was short handed.

I think I showed a little too much interest but hey, all in the name of research... Suddenly, he told me to swing right. I pushed open the door of a place I hadn't even known existed to enter a busy pub with the ubiquitous "Rubber & Friends" belting out the tunes. People chatted animatedly, sang along and danced. Extremely lively for a Sunday night! I felt like I'd been given the password to a secret underworld. A guy who'd been strutting around like a peacock in a Man United jersey "entertained" the crowd from the table-tops. Just as the band were reaching the crescendo of their set, someone knocked over an entire table of drinks and nearly flooded the place. The atmosphere was perfect! It was early Sunday morning, and there were already a few locals inside having their morning beer and reading the newspaper. Looks like they get large crowds during the evenings, and even offer lots of live music and DJs. The bartender was friendly.

So when you pass thru Trim to see the Castle, call in to this gorgeous pub. When you walk in, it is old school classic pub with beautiful woodwork and bar. From there, you can go in the cozy fireplace room that feels and looks great and leads to another cozy area to meet and be with friends. If you like patios, you're at the right place! Step out back and find a covered & climate controlled patio that is huge! They have a large smoking patio area (you can't smoke inside in Ireland either). Thru the patio, you can see a big events room that you can host a reception, party, meeting, whatever. It's been a few months since my last visit, but I've heard they have a new beer garden too! Oh yes, the drinks...the Guinness is perfect. You can get almost any tasty beverage here from a nice bartender. The owner is hands-on and always working to keep this place top notch.
