Hollywood Feed is clutch. If they don't have the product, they're happy to help with alternative solutions. We've been coming here since our beloved pup's 'gotcha' day. At one point, we loved walking distance. Imagine the excitement on our dog's face every time we're remotely in the area. I mean, we were dining at the Whole Foods across the street and she started happy squealing. Staff is knowledgeable. I appreciate the 'carry to car' service on day's I'm replenishing her food. Our dog averages 60 lbs. They've a solid rewards program. Sign up! There's even a delivery service, if need be. I appreciate the multiple store locations. I always check out their call board - to see about it supporting the community. They'll list days for In-store Rescue Adoption. We've had successful finds on my dog's harness, treats (both bagged and recently dried), tools for camping, bathing and more! Plenty of parking on the side and in the retail lot. The sales staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The selection is limited but the quality is excellent. Their return policy is generous.

I love this location and all Hollywood feeds. For dog food they have a buy 10 get the 11th free program which ends up knocking off a few dollars per bag. The store is always clean and has excellent products on the floor, My dog loves roaming the store and we always make sure to pick out a bone for him. Service should get 7 stars. We're from out of town and stopped to get our puppy a toy before coming home. The resident toy expert asked us if we were looking for anything in particular. Another employee quipped with a big smile, "I overheard them saying they need the biggest dog toy in Texas." We laughed and said that's what we'd promised before we left. The attention to detail there was fantastic. We found a home decor sign up on top of a large display that was perfect for our Bassett. "I (heart) Wigglebutts" and it was the only one left in a hard to reach place. They said "no problem" and had it down quickly. To finish off our shopping experience, the cashier was chatting with us and and we said we were heading to dinner about 20 minutes away for Tex Mex we'd heard about online. She gave us a Tex-Mex restaurant recommendation down the street. We're sitting here eating better food than we'd hoped to find. We're from IN/KY area and there's nothing like this around us. Very inviting and pleasant pet store. I went for grooming of my Great Pyrenees/ Anatolian Shepherd mix 7 month old puppy. Arial did an amazing job!! I am very happy and the price was amazing. Nikki, whom helped me with getting her a harness so we could use the seat belt to secure her, actually came to my car and did it for me! Wonderful experience and I will return. This place is like crack for people who spoil their pets. I took a bunch of photos to help you see how nice, clean, organized and packed full this place is. It's what you'd expect in Lakewood for sure and I'm sure it will do good business. My wife and I are new to dog ownership, and the staff here has been absolutely wonderful helping us with our neurotic behavior (as well as our dog's)! They've walked us through a lot of different product options, accepted returns on any that didn't meet Lola's tastes, and even recommended home remedies rather than try to sell us on a product. I even brought our dog to the store today. She's very skittish around new people, but both people working knew the right away to approach her and make contact without triggering a single anxiety in either the dog or me. I've also done a lot of comparison shopping and found the prices to be comparable and even more affordable than some of their more well-known big box competitors. I usually don't do these reviews but I believe you should reward good customer service and quality work. I have enjoyed the very nice displays and high quality products. I have 4 dogs. Two are Chihuahua rescues and the other two are Silky Terriers. These two require a good grooming every 4-6 weeks. They have black toenails as do the Chihuahuas I come here for the great groomer, Kate Sulak. I wait until I can get my pups in to see her. Kate has been my dogs groomer for over 17 years. I have followed her from Petsmart to Southland and finally Hollywood Feed. She takes the time to do nails, anal glands etc. I will wait until she has an opening because she is worth it! She has shown me and my pups friendlines and quality professional work. She even sent me a card and a candle when my partner died. I cant say enough good about her and her work. read more

Love this place! The staff is always super friendly and remembers me and my pets, and they have an amazing selection of food, treats, and toys for all of my animals. For my food allergic dogs, they are one of the few places with selected protein treats to complement most prescription hypoallergenic foods. For my young chewers, they have a wide selection of quality bully sticks and other treats that are worth the price they cost everywhere (bully sticks aren't cheap anywhere you go, but these are much bigger than average). They also are the go-to for raw and freeze-dried foods for you pet. Their prices on food are also very competitive, cheaper than what I see at the big chain stores. read more

I have come to this location ever since adopting my pup in October and have had the best experience ever! Not only have they been more than helpful with my questions on how to address certain dietary needs or treat habits but they have always been so kind to help me load my items in my car, they keep me up to date on sale items when I could have purchased something more expensive, and have replaced a harness that my pup decided was a toy. Their prices are fair and they are even willing to price match if you find something somewhere else cheaper!!! However, because of the level of service and care I have experienced every-time I enter the store I would be willing to pay regular price for whatever because this level of services is something you can not get through amazon. Plus, make it a fun trip with the pup and treat them with a cookie from the counter. My little loves the birthday cookies and wants to celebrate her b-day every time we walk in. So, we do! I am giving it one star because I cannot post a review with zero stars. On April 28.2018 I called to make a grooming appointment for my dog. I was told next available was on June 5 at 2 pm (over a month later). The morning of the appointment I called to reconfirm and asked if I could speak to the groomer. My little maltese is a puppy mill rescue and I did not want her to be caged for a long time before she was groomed. I was told to call at 1 pm to make sure groomer was running on time. I did and was told to come over. I got there on time. The man at the counter asked for immunization records, I produced them (they were issued in Mexico City since I commute between Mexico City and Dallas). When he started complaining, I explained to him that the vet records contain the vet's signature, date of vaccination/treatment, and the label (sticker of the vial) of the vaccine (which, by the way is in English). I also gave him the name and phone # of her vet in Dallas. He kept making a big deal out of it and, when I tried to explain the difference between vet records in Mexico and the U.S., he turned to me with a really nasty and arrogant attitude and said: "I don't care! We're in the U.S.!!". By the way, I am a white, US citizen (not that it matters). A nice young lady came and went over the records and said it was ok. I finally asked to talk to the groomer to tell her what I wanted, and this man (who, by the way, looks Hispanic -not that it matters-) led us, and said something to my dog... in Spanish!!! We get to the groomer and he tells her: "This is your 2 o'clock appointment" and she replies to him, very upset: "I hate it when you do this!! I'm very tired!! I can't see anything!! I need to take a break!!". I asked how long did she wanted me to wait and she said "3 or 4 hours"... really??? He offered to reschedule for the following Friday but, after the way I was treated, I said no. I cannot believe that you have to make an appointment over a month in advance only to get there and have them literally cancel the appointment. The groomer has all the right in the world to take a break if she is tired, but then they should not schedule one dog after the other. And, a 3-4 hour break? Seriously? I would never recommend this place, regardless of the positive reviews the groomer has (this was the only reason why I wanted to take my dog there). I have never had any problem with the dog's records with other groomers. The rudeness with which I was treated and lack of professionalism are simply unacceptable. read more

Kate the groomer at Hollywood Feed on Abrams is superb, but what recently happened to me there surprised and so disappointed me that I have to write a review. I brought my 4 1/2 month old puppy in for his first grooming and he is a handful no doubt it. I didn't expect to get a full groom but Kate spent a lot of time and he looked awesome. He is a biter and we all know how puppy teeth can hurt. She said it was super hard to groom him and we agreed he needs to come frequently to get used to being handled and not do a full grooming each time but work with him. After I set up the appointment I forgot to write it down and I called back and was told by the manager oh you have the Westie puppy, we are not going to groom him anymore. I was shocked and asked when were you planning on telling me this to which she had no answer she just kept referencing that she is the manager and discussed this (not with me she didn't) and he is a danger and needs to be socialized more...excuse me? This dog is 8 lbs and is 18 weeks old. Unbelievable and so disappointing from a customer service perspective. What a poor business practice. They have never been great on the business end but Kate was so awesome I put up with it. Kate is a 5 star but Hollywood Feed not going to happen for me. read more

Some employees are born with a knack for customer service, others have to be taught. The two at the Abrams store fall into the later category. After two years as a customer at Hollywood Feed on Abrams Road, I returned 17 remaining cans of a 24 can case of dog food because my dog wouldn't eat it. After what seemed like an endless training session of the staffer by the manager to make sure that the difference in case price plus the remaining cans added up correctly the manager never looks up to check on her customer. Two false starts of that transaction and the manager finally looks up from the math lesson and is shocked that I'm losing it. Incredulously, she asked me what I think she should do about the problem. All I wanted her to know was that for her flat-footed response and $20, she let a good customer walk out the door and never come back. But that was OK with her, because Hollywood Feed didn't lose a penny on that transaction. Good job! I know your "Regional" would be proud of you. read more

I was freaking out about where I could take my dog to be groomed after his normal place cancelled at the last minute and didn't know when they would be able to reschedule. So I got on Yelp and found Hollywood Feed on Abrams. They were able to schedule the appointment for a little over a week after I called. I didn't even care what the price was going to be since we were desperate so I didn't bother to ask. Everyone was very nice when we came to drop him off. Kate took the time to ask exactly how I wanted him to look and looked at a past photo. When she called to tell me he was done she took the time to mention how he did since he was a bit stressed earlier. When I picked him up he looked exactly as I wanted and I was happy to learn that it was less expensive than our normal place. They also put a bow tie on his collar! Needless to say we will be back!
