I will never…read moreuse anyone else, and in my opinion, no one else should either unless you enjoy wasting time, money, and your dog's intellect. As a former public school educator, his philosophy was the only one that made common sense to me in how a dog and frankly, how humans learn. If he is your first call, you don't need to make any other calls. If he is your last call, you'll be kicking yourself for not finding him first. He comes to the house, for 15 minute training sessions first with your dog, then with you. Guess what your homework is, 7 minute practice with your dog twice a day tops. Then, you are going into bookstores, etc. with your dog. I had a 50 lb 6 month Pitbull/Rottweiler/Am Bulldog mix. I could NOT physically walk him anymore. A leaf blows by, a squirrel, a child squeals and wants to pet the puppy...I was yanked off my feet (I am a single, 5 foot female weighing around 110-115) Our world was getting smaller and smaller. Breyers changed our lives in a matter of weeks. So now I get to experience all of life with my dog by my side. And I'll close with this story. I got a call on a Monday at 5pm from my Dad coming back from a UT football game. "In Hillsboro at the split, I fell asleep at the wheel, woke up rolling and the car is totaled and I need you to come get me." Two girlfriends came over, one is a super small Asian woman that's never owned a dog and the other is older and has only owned purse-sized dogs. Within 30 seconds, I taught them how to walk Presley, and I got in my car and booked it down I-35. They could not believe how gentlemanly and well behaved Presley was, he waits until they walk through doorways, they stop, he stops, one even took him on the elevator, and prior to training, he wouldn't let me do that! And they didn't have to know or give any commands, just his name. So if you want a dog that understands how to behave when you have guests visit, when you are out walking, when you wanna pop into a bookstore, and who ignores squirrels, has respect and boundaries, and who can think and problem solve for themselves, hire Breyers. Again, I am a CPA and I put my name to Breyers Lane and his company Breyers' Canine Academy, and he is the only dog trainer I will ever endorse.

The trainer after graduation was more than willing to take a call from us or chat about home implementation though so it's no fault to the program that we saw some regression. We take advantage of the boarding and refresher courses while he's staying. The last two times made very impressive improvements. You get to circle what you want to work on the most during the stay and I can definitely tell they worked on what was requested. Overall I'm happy with the investment. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I'm very comfortable leaving Jack with them for overnight stays and I would recommend the program to anyone

Instead, I witnessed behavior that was completely unacceptable.While I was there, I overheard someone using racial slurs while speaking to an employee who works at the business. Hearing that made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. There is no place for that kind of language in any professional setting, especially in a business that serves the public. As a paying customer, I expected professionalism, respect, and a positive environment not to witness racist language being used. Because of this experience, I will not be returning, and I hope the owner takes this matter seriously and addresses it being that she's one of the owners so no other customer or employee has to experience the same thing.

Willa is a Corgi and we think Jack Russell. So you can imagine how much energy she has. Casandra had her hands full. I received lots of pictures and videos. Some were so funny. When I attended the initial consultation, I was amazed by how large, clean, and over-the-top the facility was. The talk lasted 30 minutes, and we spoke for almost one 1hour. They were patient, and we explained all our goals, which we wanted our July to be trained on. Tyler worked with July. We received daily "Pupdates" and report cards that included videos, photos, and an overall update on his improvement. I could tell Tyler cared about July as if he was his doggie. We are so proud and thrilled about the progress July has made. TRULY AMAZING! July's confidence built up, and his personality came through by the end of the 4-week board and train program. The staff were kind and helpful. They offered training classes too. They did some amazing work training the rescue dogs to ensure they got adopted. I currently take my dog here for doggie daycare. I appreciate that the center does a temperament test to properly place dogs in a social group that matches their energy level. My dog was adopted from the local pound and definitely needed socialization. K-9 did a great job slowly introducing my dog to the pack. Frequent, short exposure with positive reinforcement has lead to his ability to be at doggie daycare for a full day. I really appreciate the expertise and caring nature of the K-9 staff.

He truly helped her realize the world isn't so scary after all. She came home knowing how to walk on a loose leash, solidified the command "down" and "place" and many other commands. He took her to coffee shops, pet smart, Lowe's to help practice these commands and work on her confidence. He was very thorough on teaching us everything at the end of the three weeks so we could keep up the hard work at home. They communicated with us every day for 3 weeks with videos and pictures and a thorough report card on how she was doing so we didn't have to worry or wonder. I feel as though he wasn't trained on ANYTHING because when I picked him up, he was jumping on Victoria (what I wanted him to learn NOT to do) as well as chewing on his leash (wanted him to learn NOT to do that either!) I'm not a professional dog trainer but I know consistency is key when learning something new so it is a complete DIS-service to NOT know what to continue to train my puppy on! Also, during pick up and drop off she had just gotten home from doing one on one trainings else where so how is my puppy getting trained when she's not there?? I feel like I got gypped into the training part of the service. The pluses to this review/business is that Victoria's home is very well equipped for a dog or puppy with a double gated outside play area, plenty of toys, and just all around great environment to also get well aquatinted with other pups. Before she entered our lives, our sweet pup (Oakley) was essentially a tiny, furry sprinkler of pee and a landmine factory of poop. Every day was a new guessing game of "What's that smell?" and "Oh no... I just stepped in it, didn't I?" Enter Victoria, the dog whisperer / saint / wizard / actual angel disguised as a trainer. We sent our puppy to her for board and train, and I swear she sent back a completely different dog--one that pees OUTSIDE. I repeat: OUTSIDE. I don't know what kind of Hogwarts-level sorcery she pulled, but it worked. And that's just the beginning! My dog now knows how to sit like a proper lady, "leave it" like it's hot, and stay "quiet"like a ninja. The jumping to greet everyone like they owe her money? Way down. The nipping with those razor-sharp baby teeth? She taught her that humans are friends, not chew toys. That's all just bonus material at this point--my bar was literally "Please just don't treat the living room like a toilet." Victoria is amazing at what she does, truly. If you're on the fence about dog training, just do it. You might not get your life back, but you'll get your house back--and that's honestly better. THANK YOU, Victoria! When we got there…read moreEcho (who is an ESA and trained to since panic attacks and anxiety spikes bc my heart rate can jump to unsafe levels) would not leave my side and tried to hide under me. I say all of this bc the staff was so kind and patient. They saw both of us stressing and let me walk her to the back door before bringing her the rest of the back. As soon as I got to my destination they let me know she was doing great and being her silly self. They sent me pictures every day on IG to help with my anxiety and even went through old pictures to send me past photos of both her and Shadow together at daycare (the last time they went together). The care and compassion is not lost on me. They are more expensive than other daycare and boarding facilities but there is a reason I've gone here for 10 years. To some I may sound crazy, but every time I've left my life and heart behind they have cared and loved my fur kids beyond what I could ever hope. Thank you Kathy for so many years of love and to the Urban Paws team, thank you. Thank you for always loving my girls. My dog had been diagnosed with cancer just three days prior and now needed his leg amputated, ASAP. This was the closest and soonest we could have the procedure done, and I'm so grateful for it. Dr. Dammicci is incredible; kind, patient, and absolutely a top notch surgeon. I would never wish this situation on anyone, ever, but I was astounded at how cleanly the leg was removed. More remarkably, my child was already walking a day later, and three weeks post op, he's running, playing, and acting for all the world like this was all just some horrible nightmare. I'm forever grateful to the team here. They've given my baby so many years of life back. Seeing him happy and healthy, especially after all we've been through, is truly a gift.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO PETSMART!!! I took my Rocco to doggie day care and they slammed his head in the door...and his eye popped out...they rushed him to the vet, a "licensed veterinarian", at the banfield there and instead of pushing is eye back in (which I even knew because I googled it when I first got my pup incase this ever happened..no vet school here) she let him lay on the table for OVER AND HOUR and when she finally did push it back in it was too late, the nerve damage was done....you see I adopted my pup with only one eye ...I don't know what happened to the other one but he was able to see out of it..now he is BLIND and petsmart never took any responsibility for what had happened. Roccos accident happened at the INWOOD AND FOREST location. Do not trust them..I thought it was a great and cheap place to take my dog and it was the biggest mistake I've ever made. I hear people say all the time.."well they are so good with my dog" yes and Rocco was their favorite..everyone loved him..everyone knew him..people In the daycare would tell me "if I ever didn't want him..they would take him" the customer service was awesome...until they turned their back on "their favorite dog". I understand it was a corporate thing..but you could have some compassion.. Also..I had the "pet insurance" and they wouldn't let me out of my contract said it wasn't their problem..so here I am having to pay $59 a month to this company who blinded my dog for another 5 months...I hadn't even had my dog for a full year when this happened. BOYCOTT PETSMART tell your friends about these stories word of mouth is powerful! Here are a few more petsmart incidents that they just act like they didn't so any thing wrong: they killed a friend of mines kitten..when she took her to get declawed...and another friend of mine took their dogs over there to board..and they were soo malnourished that they lost half of their body weight and had to be pumped with fluids...another lady took her dog to get a de-shedding treatment and her pups eyes would barley open...took to the vet inside petsmart and they said he had hair in his eyes...they took to an emergency vet and they said he had scratches on his eye from scratching the un-rinsed shampoo that was still in his eye (that one happened at the Greenville location) Ps. It's unfair that I have to even give a stare to write a review..they don't even deserve that. read more

This location is the worst one I have ever been to. I stood outside to respect the drop off policy for covid, the nurse wanted to finish her subway sandwich as I looked through the door cold with my dog, then once I was spoken to, she answered and went to the back room just to inform me I was 2 min late, as I was literally standing outside of the door waiting for the employee, then they refused to take my dog for his appointment. When I recently had to travel last-minute, I boarded Ziggy at Downtown Dog. Upon pickup, the owner, Gwen, asked to speak with me directly. She was very open and sincere about what had happened previously -- apologizing, explaining the corrective actions taken with staff, and sharing broader improvements coming to DTD. She even covered Ziggy's recent stay, which I greatly appreciated. For me, it's less about the incident itself (I understand accidents can happen) and more about transparency and how quickly a facility acts in the best interest of the dog. Gwen understood that completely and has clearly taken it to heart. I'd encourage anyone who's had a tough experience here to reach out directly -- Gwen and her team do care, and they also give back by supporting local rescue agencies. Downtown Dog really does have a lot of great people behind it, and I'm glad I gave them another shot.

I told the groomer that my pup had a cyst removed 14 days ago just over her eye (the vet cleared Marley to get groomed and said it had healed " beautifully") and to "please avoid that area". The groomer did the opposite... i picked up and my poor dog couldn't open her eye. I spoke to the manager and she said that "they must have gotten some soap in her eyes". I was told by the "manager" that an and all vet bills would be covered. After an emergency vet visit and $700 later. My dog had an ulcer Over 3/4 of cornea and the vet said there was "substantial amount of soap in her eye". I call the owner either Tim or Tom and he refused to reimburse me for my vet bills and completely dodged all my Follow up calls. In fact, we hired another local company for a few check ins prior to Good Day and we spent our week contacting that company to get an update on our cats! I was so frustrated and booked Good Day last minute to finish the visits while we were out of town and they were empathetic to our situation and squeezed us in to their schedule. So grateful! The team provides the best updates! They always send photos and very cute and detailed messages with every visit - we actually look forward to their updates because they make us laugh and feel comforted our cats are in good care. They are never generic updates, it's always very unique to our cats' personalities and that specific visit. We have also used Good Day for dog walking and even took advantage of their afternoon hike - Wendy came by to pick up our dog Manny and sent us an entire album of photos from their hike together! It's a really special way to get some one on one time instead of sending your pup to daycare for the day! Scheduling is SO easy and they are affordable/on par with other pet sitting companies.
