Then new owners/ landlords hired Intrastate and the rats were gone after just a couple weeks. The technician they sent out was happy to explain what they were planning to use and the risks to people and our pet cat. They used a natural product (vitamin D based i think) which we appreciated. We were very impressed with this service and their thoughtfulness compared to the previous service. Highly recommended!! We'll be contacting them for help with a new termite issue soon.

We had an active termite infestation, they came out and analyzed it and then called Interstate Repair Services, they gave us an estimate of $1500.00 worth of damage. That did not even cover the insulation that had to be replaced. Look elsewhere for a reputable Pest company that honors its warranties. I had found the original warranty from 2000 and it states that with an active termite infestation they will pay the damages. I can attest they will not, you will be left doing the repair work and paying for it. I contemplated legal action, but at this point, it is not worth it, I have dealt with chain companies, and they are very good at hiding behind franchises. I will make it a point to let everyone know, this is how they treat customers.

The new company couldn't help me, so I called another company to redo the inspection for me, but it was now only a week before closing so time was a critical issue. The new company said they would get back to me and never did. I called Fosters and Melanie immediately understood my situation, said she would call me back and did, and got the inspection and the report to me without any further nudging on my part! I am so impressed with her understanding, her follow up, and the young man who showed up to do the inspection. It's extremely frustrating to pay $500 for an incomplete service that only took the technician 40 minutes and did not get the job done. Subsequently, I persistently called, left voicemails and emailed for 2 weeks letting them know of my issue and they kept giving me the run around. It's unfortunate because they were so quick to get me scheduled to take my money but when I told them they obviously didn't do the job I paid for, they have been completely ghost. Because of the nature of the situation and the health hazard, I had to call another company to fix the faulty job they did. The new company is excellent, great customer service and I will recommend them to everyone with any similar issues as well as my HOA because we have wildlife issues is my neighborhood quite often. Companies like Jesse James do not care about customers... customers who work hard NOT to throw away money! I do not write reviews often so when I do it's because I value my dollar and do not want others taking advantage. Sadly, I was referred to Jesse James by another company who could not get to me sooner so I'll have to also let them know about my experience so others do not have my same fate! And do not lie and say you were not given access to the interior of the house (like you did in your response to me on Google). Now, they might react to this and say " You're mistaken. We did mention supplemental chemical sprays"- so let me assure you they did not. This interesting video by a professional purports to uncover this "lock in" bait station scam and the erroneous value of bait stations. The logic in the video makes sense, but that's for you to decide. It includes quotes by the Dept of Agriculture on the value of chemicals over bait stations. The corporations are such a pain - they want everything but your first born before even reaching a person for a quote, and then they try to sell their packages for $499+. Every single quote was $299 minimum, for a job which took 15 minutes. Mike, on the other hand, charged much less, and was completely knowledgeable about the entire process. I left a message in the morning and he called me back that afternoon, looked at photos, assured me "no problem," and came over the next morning. Miserable stinging insects gone. I recently moved my family down to Charlottesville area from Washington DC on very short notice &…read moreended up in a 100+ year old home surrounded by hay field & woods that had been unoccupied for 2-3 months. Not surprisingly, mother nature did not wait for us to occupy it - she placed some of her own in the house as well. We discovered a LOT of insects, which we were comfortable dealing with. Then we ran across the mice, which were unpleasant, but we believed within our means. We hit our limit when we started finding the snakes. Neither myself nor my wife are lovers of either rodents or insects, but we both have serious problems with snakes & with a 2 & 4 yr old in the house, were were minutes from moving out & never looking back - enter the Blue Ridge Termite & Pest folks. We didn't know them from Adam, but by the grace of God they were the ones that responded. They sent an individual out quickly & he inspected the property thoroughly, answered all of our questions completely (& understandably), proposed & executed a comprehensive treatment plan (inside & out), put in place a number of glue traps in order to identify if anything else got in, & then advised us of a number of conditions around the house (i.e. landscaping) that would encourage future intrusions if not addressed (as well as provided some ideas on how we might resolve them). The individual that responded (Justin) not only resolved our problems, but educated us on a number of things that we could do in the future to effectively address minor issues ourselves as well as a multitude of myths (many of which I had already tried) that just don't work. I'm happy (incredibly relieved actually) to be able to say that we've never seen or heard any sign of another rodent or snake since they came. There has been a LOT of action at the bait stations that they set up outside (per the plan), but not a single uninvited guest has made it into the house as evidenced by the still empty glue traps. I don't have any experience with any of the other pest control companies in the area & thus really can't compare the Blue Ridge Termite & Pest folks to anyone else. Based on the fact that they walked into what I had already determined was a lost cause & not only made it right, but managed to talk both my wife & me off of the ledge & get us back into the game (& saved us having to find/move to another house), I don't see myself ever getting any experience with any other pest control company. I like Yelp's description of the 5 star rating - "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" describes my experience with this company perfectly.
