I was told that my condition could eventually leave me in a wheelchair or even shorten my life, which was terrifying. After spending nearly 18 months on osteoporosis medication with disappointing DEXA scan results, I became increasingly concerned about the long-term risks and side effects. The daily injections often caused nerve pain in my lumbar spine, and I felt overwhelmed by the endless and often conflicting information online about supplements and osteoporosis care.
