Miso soup

What a delightful little gem! We stumbled upon it after a great church service. It's super small, and we almost couldn't find parking due to the Mexican restaurant a few doors down. Everyone there was kind and amazing! I'm not sure what Japanese restaurants look like in Japan, but I imagined they look like this. They had Pokemon playing on tv. The menu was ample and very descriptive. On to the food! We started off with the Spam Masubi, appetizer for two, spicy tuna onigiri. The spicy tuna Onigiri was sooooo good! Wish we had more of it. We all shared communal style at the table, and everyone agreed it was by far the fav! The app for two wasn't too shabby either. It had shrimp tempura, crab Rangoon, gyoza, mozzarella sticks, and eggrolls. They were all either great to good. The tempura could have used a bit more time in the fryer, and it lacks some flavor. Also, mozzarella sticks make no sense, but they were ok. The consensus least fav was the spam musubi. Where the musubi at L&L Hawaiian was so delicious, this fell flat. We couldn't quite put our finger on it, but here it didn't make sense. None of us liked it. Even the spam felt off. We had the fiery roll, hoki shrimp bowl, and yakitori chicken bento. The sushi was ok. A bit too much cream cheese. The yakitori chicken was great. I will get to our one problem. The food was good to great, except the musubi. The portions are a bit on the smaller side for price. Not to terrible, we were still left wanting more. We also had dessert. We like matcha. We are weird, since most people we know aren't fans. We had the tiramisu matcha, matcha cheesecake soufflé, and strawberry mochi. They were all great. The fav was the mochi followed by the tiramisu. The soufflé was good, just some parts were a little dry. Oh and I almost forgot, they bring you fried wonton strips with sauce, like restaurants bring you chips and salsa. What a great touch, and they are addictive! The sauces didn't much. We ended up asking for chili oil instead. The miso soup was a surprisingly great soup!!!

Had a great experience eating here. Ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box. The cream cheese Rangoon's were 10 out of 10. The Boba was good also! Hopefully they can add crystal balls to the menu.

I tried the coconut milk tea with boba and the takoyaki from this place. I've had my fair share of boba, and I would say that this place is okay. The tea itself was really good - very creamy and coconut-flavored but not much tea flavor. The boba itself wasn't the best, but I think I went at an awkward time. This place would be a good place to sit down and study or even sit down to catch up with a friend. They also had a variety of asian food like bento boxes that seemed great and I will be back to try these! The takoyaki from this place had a very generous portion of red bean filling. It was a tad bit oily- I think they deep fry it-- but had a mochi chewy like texture. It was very filling. I ate it after a 20 minute drive, so it wasn't fresh. I'm sure it would have been amazing if it was fresh. It seem like a local business so I will come back to support them! I would give them a try if you are in the area.

My sister always says this place is good so I decided to try it out today and lemme tell you the food was amazing and the service was great friendly people and the place was very clean I enjoyed it will be going back to try other things.

We stopped for lunch & it wasn't too busy. Beautiful wall decor & very clean. I ordered the salmon teriyaki bento box & he had the chicken teriyaki bento box. We had different sides so we could share. The teriyaki sauce was very tasty and they both had generous servings. They also have a Chinese menu

Was really surprised with this place. The food was very delicious and so were the boba drinks. Will definitely be back to try different menu items. Also pleasantly surprised at how many items were available on the menu. The servers are nice and quick. The inside sometimes gets busy but not too bad.

Stopped by Hoki Bento Boba cafe, and I think I found my new favorite lunch spot! They had a wide selection of bento boxes and I opted for the salmon box. The salmon was perfectly cooked and so delicious. The portion of rice and salmon was great for a lunch meal. The cashier was kind enough to explain the menu for me and even offered me Boba. They had indoor seating, but I opted for a to-go order. Overall, I can't wait to come back!

Came here with my kids for dinner and we were amazed at everything. The food, the atmosphere, the staff! We will definitely be coming back and trying more of the delicious food. We all got Thai Tea Boba drinks and they have water available which was ice cold and delicious. Very clean, fast service which was great!

Really great food service and ambience. I definitely will be coming again. I really liked the kind hostess, who is very accommodating with my order and moreover, the vibes of the place is super chill and relax I can't wait to come back.

My server, Sunay, radiated wonderful energy and ensured a seamless dining experience by keeping the premium cuts arriving consistently. By the end of the evening, I had enjoyed eleven servings of meat, complemented by an assortment of sides and fresh vegetables - the price an absolute steal. This place will undoubtedly remain at the top of my list for my next hotpot craving.

But my son, bless his heart, wasn't exposed to Officer Whats-his-face explaining to a class of fifth graders how deviously addictive substances like heroin, crack, and hot pot can be. So my kid has had a habit for about three or four years now. Chinese hot-pot barely tempts me these days; I don't need a numb mouth like that. Mongolian...that level of sodium was fine in my twenties, I guess. Shabu proper - served with ponzu and sesame sauce by some fella wearing a headband starts to get tempting. But I'm doing well this year, I've only flown to LA's Japantown for my fix once. And honestly, this is not that anyway. Most of these restaurants, where they expect me to boil my own dinner, are pretty easy to wean off of. I mean, seriously, how lazy can a restaurant owner be. Here's some raw meat, cook it yourself, folks? Unfortunately, Wild Japanese's offering is more akin to the most delicious of the hot pots. Singaporean or Malaysian style, with a gigantic assortment of sauces and a flavorful selection of broths, and the best soup you've ever had waiting for you at the end of your meal. And I hope that helps explain why when we go two weeks without a visit, my son starts to get really antsy and sees bugs crawling under his skin, just like Officer What's-His-Face said he would. I think originally you could get just not-shabu; nowadays, they make you pair the hot pot with some inferior food. We've tried the sushi a few times. That was a huge mistake. The Korean BBQ pairs well, it's just a lot of effort, and not a lot of soup, so we grill a token steak or two but otherwise stick to not-shabu. Anyway, that's a short entomology of hot pots throughout the world, excluding fondue, according to my tummy. I could probably stop anytime if I really wanted. Eating this delicious not-shabu. But for my son's sake, I go.

I was iffy because I've tried curry a couple times before and didn't like it because it has a slight sweetness, but I prefer savory and spicy. The girl at the front was so kind, helpful, and honest with my questions. She told me the Chicken Katsu Curry may have a sweetness, but not a super strong one. So I decided to go with it and make it spice level medium so give me what I like and balance the possible sweetness. I chose everything else on my own, but she did comment that the shrimp tempura was really good and she was not lying!! They put some kind of topping on it and it's amazing. For everything I ordered, it was $36. In my opinion, the pricing was incredible. And I drove all the way from here to my home on the northeast side to eat and everything was still hot and crunchy! So I'm thinking it was made fresh. They put my curry on the side so I could add it myself which was smart thinking! They obviously have a great team. Informative, small wait time after I ordered, beautiful inside, but especially a CLEAN inside. I'm not on this side of town often, but when I am... trust; I will be back. Thank you all so so much! The girl behind the counter was very helpful and sweet. She helped guide me to my perfect spice level for my order. I was craving udon soup, but only one was available- beef udon, so I went for it, spicy level 4/5. We also ordered one of the popular dishes on the menu- crunch chicken teriyaki, spice level 4/5. Even though the restaurant is not large, ample seating is available. We sat towards the back of the restaurant and enjoyed the wall decor. Our orders were delivered to our tables after preparation. They were both served in reusable take away containers. Which was ok, but would have preferred my soup served in a large actual bowl. Soup came piping hot, perfect on a fall overcast day. Broth was savory and definitely had a kick. Loved the thick silky udon noodles, thinly sliced cooked beef, green onions, and crunchies. Would have enjoyed an egg as well in my soup, but that was 2.50 extra. The crunch chicken teriyaki with rice was good, but spice level 4 for this dish overpowered the main flavors. Suggestion- keep it mild on this one to enjoy the crunch and flavors. I would love to come back and try one of their combo sets! Check out their anime toy collection No military discount offered.

But hey, this is what the birthday girl wanted, so this is what she got. We came here after a full day at Six Flags, starving, and hunger definitely made for the best sauce. One thing we have to say about Wild Goji that is A+++: they have Hitachino yuzu ON DRAFT!! Hitachino is one of our favorite breweries, and we had tried this version when we are in Japan, and could not believe our luck finding it here! It's worth the price of admission alone. As for the food, well, it is what it is. Honestly, it's not terrible, but you can tell you're not getting the creme de la creme (unsurprisingly). We mostly stuck to tuna and salmon, but we did appreciate their spicy garlic edamame (not spicy at all) and their spicy seaweed salad (slightly spicy). We ordered tempura that we had to send back because the sweet potato wasn't fully cooked. Some of the dishes on the conveyer belt definitely looked unappetizing (like the omelet roll) and since we were towards the middle-end of the restaurant, we had to wait a while for food to come our way. Service is minimal, but the atmosphere is boisterous because these kinds of places are fun. We were smart to make a quick reservation on our way from Six Flags because the place was slammed by the time that we left. Three stars, but it'll remain a fond memory celebrating our daughter's 9th birthday.

We visited on a weekday evening, and the restaurant was nearly at capacity, which was a good indication that it is a popular local spot. The restrooms were clean, and alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, are available. The menu is quite extensive, with both sushi and traditional Japanese fare. There is a separate lunch menu, while the regular menu includes starters, salads, soups, à la carte selections, sushi rolls, rice bowls, signature entrées, ramen, and desserts. Our group ordered a variety of dishes, and there were no complaints about any of the food. Everything was enjoyable. Portions tend to be on the smaller side, and while prices are competitive with similar restaurants, they are somewhat on the higher side. Service was the one area where there was room for improvement. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable, but attention to the table was inconsistent. Beverage refills were not checked on as often as they could have been, and our entrées took a very long time to arrive. On the positive side, we were treated to complimentary ice cream at the end of our meal, which was a nice touch. Overall, we had a positive dining experience. The food, extensive menu, attractive atmosphere, and friendly staff make Suko Japanese Cuisine a restaurant worth returning to. With somewhat more attentive service and quicker entrée delivery, the experience could be even better.

After Tuesday visit, the rating remains on 5, but only because we had an amazing time on Sunday. Maybe on Tuesday there was a different chef, but food just didn't taste the same, and a few Sunday dishes we asked for on Tuesday (standard menu) were sold out. Both times I had rice lager specially brewed for the restaurant, and it was delicious. An absolute highlight on Sunday was the dish called Hand of God - the smoky wagyu on top of the rice cake was just an absolute perfection, not anything I had before (this dish was not available on Tuesday). We also had similarly smoky vegetable roll which was also experience in itself. This was my first time at the sushi restaurant where waiter suggested that the nigiri pieces are perfectly ready to eat, require no extra soy sauce or wasabi, and should be picked up by hand instead of chopsticks - another wonderful experience. I also had few different nigiri piece, two different types of mackerel and uni - an absolute wow (on Sunday). The gyozas had a nice sauce and it wasn't overly sweet. The hamachi tasted fresh and had good flavors. The rolls were not my favorite because they were very wet and not a lot of actual fish. My friend tried the fried fish dish and didn't enjoy it and he never complains about food.
