I wasn't able to make it to MEPs for Military Recruiting, so my recruiter had me do all of my clinical exams with civilian doctors. I found Dr. Hoffman through a quick google search and she is by far extremely great at what she does. The hearing exam varies from $65 - $125 (insurance not accepted). The military required comprehensive exams and I had zero issues paying for the $125 exam. She performed everything necessary that the military required: a general look inside my ears, reading test, the actual hearing test itself, and a pressure test which actually helped clear me for scuba diving/mountaineering activities (and of course the Navy). In addition to all of this Dr. Hoffman kindly answered my other concerns regarding earwax buildup and all sorts of small things. The care here for the hearing exam and what not is a lot more in depth than just going to a primary cary physician who does one small test. Dr. Hoffman has this whole sound BOOTH to give you the best hearing exam and she runs so many tests to really observe your ear's activity. If you're thinking of joining the military or getting cleared for anything ear related, do come here. I recommend calling during business hours to reserve a appointment slot. Came here to get my ears professionally cleaned. I typically use the Q-tip method and clearly not the right way. First the doctor showed me inside the ears and there was definitely some build up by the eardrums on both sides from the improper use of Q-tips to clean with. She then took me into a different room and proceeded to clean both ears. Oddly the whatchamacallit that she stuck in the ear to remove the gunk had a weird satisfying feeling. Then she took me back to the other room and showed me how clean things were. You could actually see the eardrum and thankfully it didn't look damaged. The price I paid as a cash patient was beyond reasonable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that's having any auditory issues. read more

What a wonderful experience! Dr. Chris Hoffmann is caring, knowledgeable and very good at communicating. I had a bad experience when trying to get my ears cleaned at the doctor. She shows great forbearance in dealing with elderly patients who think they have no need of a hearing aid despite suffering from substantial hearing loss. I went to see Dr. Hoffmann after I felt I had some hearing loss- probably attributed to the many rock concerts I had been to in my earlier years. Her office is very clean and new, and it was easy to make an appointment to see her. She took the time to thoroughly check my hearing in several different ways- in the 'silent room", a visual check and another instrument used to further measure my auditory acuity. All her diagnostic instruments were new and high tech, but she was able to show and explain the results of the tests to me in a clear and simple way. Luckily I had only minimal hearing loss, but I plan on going in for periodic checkups with her. Just completed my initial visit for a hearing aid test/evaluation and my experience couldn't have been more different, in a positive way, than my trip to the Sonus Hearing Center located just two blocks away. Dr. Hoffmann was professional and personable and was very well-versed on the technology embedded in the hearing aids. She discussed all applicable options, displaying an appropriate degree of sensitivity to the cost involved. She carries all the major brands at the lowest prices I could locate. I'll be trying (without cost) the pair I favored most for a week. Even on the phone, she was patient and shared some initial thoughts on how she would initiate testing. Dr Hoffman did a good job and gave me three hearing aids to demo and try out. After the demos, one was noticeably better than my personal first choice. The initial fitting was good and needed just one adjustment. Several months later, I used the phone programming feature to see if there was anything I wanted to change or adjust.
