Thankfully I called the day before my appointment to confirm again because I was told my appointment was never officially scheduled and the time was no longer available! The office also told me they take my insurance but later backtracked and said they don't and that I'd need to talk to my insurance because Sonus didn't understand my referral...I talked to my insurance and they were confused what the issue was! I kept calling Sonus and was on hold and had to get call backs all day and they finally admitted it was their mistake and there was no issue after all! Because of all of this, and my urgent need for a hearing test, I had to drive 2 hours away somewhere else. Sonus Irvine absolutely wasted a full day for me and forced me to drive so far away. Absolutely never trust this office for an appointment! It is mind blowing that they did not know how insurance or referrals work and it took them so long to finally admit everything was in order on my end.

My 86-year-old father with Alzheimer's and my mother had an appointment with Amy Lopez at 09:30 AM. We were running 8 minutes late -- life happens when you're caring for elderly parents -- but I even called 5 minutes before to let them know we were on our way. When we arrived, instead of compassion or understanding, the receptionist was laughing and chatting on the phone while I waited. Then, after making me wait another 5 minutes, we were told that Amy Lopez would NOT see my mother because we were late. Do you know what it takes to get two elderly people, one with Alzheimer's, ready and transported to a medical appointment? The effort? The stress? And to be turned away over 8 minutes -- after we called ahead -- was cruel. And to make matters worse, the office was filthy. The floors were disgusting, and the testing room where my mom was supposed to be seen was unsanitary and uncomfortable. As someone who works in healthcare, I was horrified. Compassion and dignity are the foundation of patient care -- and this place has neither. If you care about your loved ones, do NOT bring them here. Especially not to Amy Lopez. Patients deserve better. Elderly patients deserve much better.

We…read morecalled Advanced Eat Care and they got us in in a couple of days (would've been even sooner had my schedule not been as crazy). We asked how much a cleaning would be for her and they informed us it would be around $65. This would include cleaning her ears as well as as the hearing aids. We thought that was fair, given we are in California lol After taking her hearing aids out and checking both her ears and the aids, they discovered neither one really needed to be cleaned. The gentleman who is helping us explain to my mom one area that she could brush free of some dust, and after learning that she didn't have a brush... He went and got her a couple for free. They didn't even let us pay. I thought this was so generous as they could've still charged us for the appointment and the time they took to sit with my mom. Great location, great service. She asked about our situation and instead of trying to sell her services or the ear plugs she offers, she generously gave me tons of insights and tips for helping my father-in-law and our family cope and heal from this tragic event that has shaken our world. Unfortunately we don't live in Irvine and cannot work with Dr. Wilson directly as a speech pathologist. Sarah Nunns administered the test and it was evident that my hearing would be significantly helped with aids. Dr Donna Cody discussed several options and I decided to try a pair of Oticon hearing aids. She had a trial pair available and I was fitted, tutored on the mobile app, and sent off to try them for a while. Over the next few weeks I returned for consultation with Dr Cody and minor adjustments to the aids. Dr Cody wanted to make sure I was completely satisfied and that the hearing aids were tuned to my specific needs. I was very satisfied and ordered a pair of Oticon Real aids. Dr Cody and her staff are exceptional. The atmosphere in the office is friendly, helpful, and caring. I never felt rushed and it was evident that patient care was a top priority. I highly recommend Coast Hearing and Balance Center for anyone experiencing hearing loss.
