I would avoid doing business with UE. I recently purchased custom IEMs from 64 Audio and Alclair. I first tried to contact 64 Audio, Alclair, and UE. I wanted to speak to an agent about specific issues with my IEMs. I connect with 64 Audio and Alclair. Both companies responded and answered my questions. I would recommend 64 Audio and Alclair. You get to talk with someone and it doesn't take you 4 freaking days (and still no response) BTW: I did spend over $2,000 on my custom fits. Too bad, UE. read more

They mold to fit your ears, a couple hundred bucks, I get it, but the quality is about $49.95 what's the other thousand bucks for??????? Plus they don't even stay together so you have to worry about losing the buds as they fall off!!!! Only to get a response from the maker saying I have to be careful with them. Fantastic in-ears and fantastic service! This company really knows how to do it. My left ear is a little abnormally shaped. This odd shape makes it difficult to fit in-ears for. While other companies said they could not make custom monitors for me UE didn't hesitate. The result being one of the finest sets of headphones I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Everything about my UE Live is spectacular. The fit, the look, even the out-of-the-box experience was splendid. I had asked for some custom art that I provided to be used. I am a music fanatic. I must have over 5000 songs on my iPod, covering everything from Mozart to Metallica and everything in between. When I first bought the iPod, I knew right away I couldn't stand those LOUSY white earbuds. Those things don't fit in my ear, so I had to buy some other headsets. The first one was those $149 Bose headphones, and they did alright for a while, but with the cord being so long, it got hung up on my leg, gradually pulling at the cord that connects to the headset itself. Time passes, and eventually, the cord is ripped from the headset. That's it. I'm done. NO music, as the cord that just happens to get ripped out is to my only good ear ... my left. So there I am, on BART, with no music. Normally, the music drowns out the other voices in my head. But now they are taking over ... "BUY ULTIMATE EARS ..... BUY ULTIMATE EARS." Now I am not one to ignore these voices. So what do I do? I do what the voice tells me. I buy them. I did a bit of research and found these are some of the top rated music accoutrement's out there. My triple.fi are tiny ... so tiny that people might ask me things as I'm walking around, and they wonder why I am ignoring them. It's not that the sound is too loud ... it's because these do a great job at canceling the noise. I can ride on BART, and can be completely oblivious as to what's around me. This type of headphone requires a bit more care than your average earbuds and need some cleaning now and then to get the gunk out. The best thing to use is an interdental brush. Keep them clean, and they will last a long time. They might require getting used to, as these enter your ear canal. And you need to tinker with them a bit to get a proper fit. Ordering online is painless and easy. A few other styles are available, but I chose the triple.fi. Sure, they cost more than my iPod itself at $399, but the sound is incredible. They can even do a custom mold of your ear to make earbuds that fit to YOUR ear. Those will set you back a grand. YES ... $1000 for a pair of earbuds. NOT including the cost to have the mold done at an "authorized audiologist." I'm going to start saving for those. I wonder if they have gift cards. I purchase a pair of custom in-ear headphones from Ultimate Ear over 6 years ago. They've been indestructible tanks. I dropped by the UE office a few weeks ago and asked that they be check out, cleaned... generally refurbished. I picked them up today.Their better than new. Life is as should be! I do not recommend. Horrible service for the price. Nice sound but not worth the money. The wires that they charge over 100usd for is flimsy and will break fast with daily use. Service is horrible. It's been over a month since I've sent in my iems for repair after the plastic cracked. Tracking number says its been delivered over a month ago and yet there's no updates with ue. Everytime I ask about it they just say wait. I've "had" these earphones for several months now and more than half of those months ivdidnt actually have earphones they just have my money. read more

They even went beyond the call of duty and service and cleaned my ears thoroughly (inside and out) (yes it was gross but that's the kind of top scale service they provide), in order to get a perfect mold of my ears. First and foremost, I want to thank John at UE for making my experience superb from start to finish, and everywhere in between. His approach and demeanor throughout the ordering process, support process, and my million questions was outstanding. All of the staff that we interacted were super friendly as well, including Sudwyn and Jeanette (who scanned my GF's ears for a future purchase). Being that these earphones aren't cheap, I had a ton of things to ask, from stupid questions to technical questions and John really went above and beyond to make sure I had all of the answers I required before deciding on going with a set of their IEMs. I did have a small fitment issue upon picking up the IEMs, and on a quick trip to the office, the UE technician Jake was able to revise the fit making it absolutely perfect in just about the blink of an eye. I couldn't ask for better service than what I received. The option for a local pickup is also a big plus for me as UE is close enough to be convenient while saving a few bucks on shipping costs. The entire experience with UE was great, I can't recommend them enough! read more

Outstanding from top to bottom. incredible craftsmanship, customer service and technology. Their custom ears are amazing - great sound. The fit is different for each person - I would say for me the fit is good - they aren't the most comfortable things in the entire world to stick in your ear - they aren't cotton balls or anything, but they are far from UNCOMFORTABLE. They just take a little getting used to. I highly recommend them for musicians and audiophiles - probably aren't the right solution for the average music listener though. read more

This review is based mostly on customer service. I bought a pair of headphones from Ultimate Ears. My transaction with UE was amazing to start. Great service, except that they didn't inform me that I could send the earphones back for a refit if they weren't comfortable (they are customs designed to fit me). I contacted them a couple years later complaining of pain in my ears every time I've worn them since they were new. UE was absolutely unwilling to cover this adjustment under their fit guarantee even though I had been dealing with pain for years and was unaware of the guarantee or the ability to adjust them without getting a new pair. These things were so expensive that they should come with an all inclusive guarantee for life when it comes to fit and workmanship. I politely told my story to the customer rep, and she was not even willing to understand where I was coming from. All she cared about was charging me $50 bucks for the fit adjustment so that I wouldn't have to be in pain anymore when I wear them. UE/Logitech - that's a great way to treat someone that has bought your top of the line IEM custom earphones, a Transporter, a Squeezebox Duet, and a Squeezebox Boom. Probably over $3,000 worth of your products. Thanks a lot for not giving a crap about a great customer. If you're a potential customer, use one of their competitors. There are 10's of other in ear headphone manufacturers that make world class products. All of these companies care about their customers, even if you're not a rock star. I'll be selling my Logitech/UE stuff as soon as I can afford to buy new stuff from a company that has good customer service. For what it's worth, my brother has had terrible customer service from them as well with a set of earphones that I bought for him. They failed a month outside of warrantee and they weren't willing to do anything for him other than sell him a new expensive pair. read more

I bought an UE 18 pro about 6 months ago, and they were great until the IEM broke after 2 months, so I contacted them by phone and leaved a voicemail but did not get a call back, but because i also wrote them an email while i was calling them, so i got an email reply telling me i need to return them, so of course i returned them( i paid the shipping), after a few weeks i got them back( they paid the shipping), and it is STILL NOT WORKING, so i wrote them a very serious email telling them that i have no time send these IEM back and forth as i am busy and i need them for work,the morning i got an email from them and basically telling me to send them back BUT THIS TIME THEY PAID THE SHIPPING FEE, 2 weeks later I got my IEM back and i tested them thoroughly, now they work very good! i think they throw away the old ones and made me a new one for the right side( the side that was having problem), although this time the size fit a bit smaller than what i want it to feel (just a tiny bit smaller), but yea i am just happy that they fix the problem within a timely manner. But if you ask me if i will buy IEMs from them again, my answer is maybe. read more
