We consider each of the caregivers our forever friends. Arbi, the owner of Divinity, is a very hands on caring owner. He takes on each patient with attention to detail and takes the time to know them and provide caregivers with the skills to meet their individual needs. My mom would light up when they came in and would always work hard to know their names and talk with them. I cannot recommend Divinity Hospice enough. We spoke to a palative care representive at the hospital and Hoffman Hospice was coontacted and in Hoffman contacted us at the hospital and arrangements were made and supplies and medical equipment were at the house even before we were released from the hospital. Hoffman Hospice to the lead in my wifes care and handled everything and explained and showed me what to do in the absence of the Hoffman team. Hoffman staff worked with me especially as she approached the final stages of her disease and kept her comfortable. At each stage of the progression the Hoffman staff spent more necessary time with Debbie and myself and also explained what was happening. I am very appreciative of the care they supplied with the medical help and mental preparations they helped me through.

Our new nurse Leslie is a great communicator and really really seems to be on top of it. One family member here went back from Palliative Care to Hospice and is in decline and all we wanted was the best we could do for him. Dr.Lin and Laurie were not NOT NOT the team for that. I have not met the new doctor, but I am satisfied that we have a nurse who comes in regularly and communicates really well. I did get a very empty reply from Optimal following the previous post and frankly it just sounded like they did not care at their office... idk if the replay came from Bakersfield or their Utah office.

However, if specialized care is required, I encourage you to choose another agency. My wife has dementia and is essentially non-verbal. Communication with our healthcare team is vital, but BCHH abruptly discharged my wife without providing advance notice(same day discharge), claiming she had "plateaued". This despite my diligent reporting to her nurse over the previous 3 weeks that she was physically weakened by a recent illness which resulted in several falls. I notified her nurse, requesting PT & OT, as well as a Hoyer lift. They abruptly discharged her instead. When I called their office, I was treated disrespectfully by their manager Theresa and office personnel Miranda. They both (separate calls) interrupted me repeatedly, refused to listen to my concerns regarding my wife's recent decline, and dismissively pronounced that my wife's condition didn't qualify for care unless she had an open wound. She previously received hospice care from this agency, but after two months in a nursing facility last summer, was inexplicably placed on home health rather than hospice upon discharge. I'm still scratching my head about that determination. Her condition is chronic, btw. Bakersfield Community Home Health is not the agency to use if you're looking for a partner in healthcare! I'm pleased to say she's now receiving services from Purpose Driven Home Health.

My complaints are extremely expensive to live there then the CEO wants to ask the residents to pay for the employees bonus and for candy, etc for Easter, Halloween events. I am sorry but for $5100 a month, you pull that money from your bonus instead of asking residents to cover it. The kitchen lady who is manager is absolutely rude and needs to smile. We paid an extra $841 a month for meds to be given to my Nana but most the time her meds would get lost or she would be given them late. Again, $5100 a month that shouldn't be happening. We had to move my Nana out last week because there was a rent increase and we no longer could afford her living there.
