Worst service. Spent over $300 on an Arrma RC car, and by day two, the motor stopped working. Only got one full battery run (about 20-25 minutes) before it failed. HobbyTown offers no warranty--absolutely disappointing. read more

This is a very large store that has an amazing selection of almost everything you could want in not just RC hobbies but also just small models, science educational toys etc. I live in the area and always know I can depend on them having what I will need. Very knowledgeable people working that have always been able to help me. read more

Wall 2 wall and floor to ceiling my bet is you will be peeling off the Benjamin's and I have to go farther than this you'll be doing it with huge grins and you won't realize how much you really care about those benjies!! We have four young boys, and they loved this store. From the myriad RC's they have in stock (airplanes, boats, trucks) to Gundam models and other cool toys they carry, our boys did not want to leave during our very first visit this last Black Friday. Although they have a lot of stuff that youngsters would be interested in, this is a more serious hobby shop. They have parts for building and repairing your own RC's and it can be somewhat intimidating to go through the store. We primarily stayed in the right side of the store where more kid oriented stuff is located. Yes, I agree with the previous reviewers that some of the staff can be a bit put off-ish, but there most of the staff did ask us if we needed assistance or asked what we were looking for. Overall, I think it was a cool store with decent/competitive pricing. We are definitely going again. read more

I have been shopping at different Hobby Town stores for many years and was always very pleased with the service I received. That was until I went to this store in Omaha. The people that work there are very very rude. I bought a Blade helicopter from them. Flew it for 5 minutes and the tail rotor quit. I took it back to this store and all they did is accuse me of crashing it. It only flew for 5 minutes. So far they have done nothing. For $150 it should last more than 5 minutes. This Hobby Town store is the worst store I have ever been in. I will never shop at Hobby Town again. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewher. read more

I bought an RC boat that said on the package "self righting" meaning it wouldn't flip over and then be unable to get back to shore. This was really important to me for obvious reasons. I used it for 5 minutes and it flipped upside down and wouldn't move. After about 15 minutes it sunk lower in the water and finally turned over slightly so I could power it back to shore. I found the inside cavity full of water with the motor and battery impacted. I didn't trust that it wasn't permanently damaged so I took it back to get a full return. The manager at the LA Vista Nebraska store said they don't return because they'd be out of business if they allowed returns and I'd have to contact the manufacturer. I emailed the manufacturer and they said they'd take back the boat from Hobbytown if Hobbytown would return to me. I took it back and showed the manager the email and they still wouldn't take it back even though they'd be made whole themselves if they did refund me. They obviously only care about keeping the profit at all cost even if that means unsatisfied customers. Why would anyone buy from them if they can buy same or similar product from somewhere else like Amazon and get a full return if needed? read more

This place is InSaNe! I love it! They had more bodys than any store I have ever been to. They have 2 KILLER indoor tracks. One Carpet and one dirt with jumps. Super pro tracks with old body's hanging on the wall from 30+ years ago!! Sooo cool. The carpet race track looks like its designed for tearing it up with slicks but I bet drifting would be really fun here too. I will be back, with cars. read more

My son is new to RC and went into the store. On the advice of the employee, he purchased parts for his car. Once home, we found out that the parts were incorrect for his car. We attempted to return the parts just to find out that they do not accept returns and did not have the correct parts. They offered store credit but don't have anything that will work for his car. This is a classic bait and switch. I always attempt to do business locally, but I will never go back to this store. If you are a novice, I would avoid this place completely. Not because of the people but because of the management and policies. You can find everything online for the same price if not cheaper. read more

I went to this place to buy a few things, replacement parts and possibly a new toy. The entire time I was in store not one person bothered to help me. One guy was too busy on, what seemed to be, his cell phone and another guy was looking through a magazine. Both guys were beside one another and maybe in a contest of who could do the least amount of work. I don't know what was going on with them, but I do know they didn't help me. There were a few things behind things the counters I needed to get and I really wanted to buy a beginner quad copter, yet no one helped me. This place lacks any customer service in my opinion. I was in the store more than ten minutes, for what it's worth. I hope others have a better experience than I did!! read more

I have been in more lately and I seem to get helped right away; first couple times after a long hiatus it took a bit to get a hand as most of the parts I needed were behind the counter for obvious reasons. All in all I usually talk to a couple of the guys there and I may start doing some racing again. After being gone from the RC hobby for about 15-17 years though man has it changed. read more

First off, don't be scared off by the bad reviews. I started out coming to the Hobbytown Hobbyplex, as somewhat of a backyard basher/rc noob. I've asked every single annoying question under the sun, and not once was a staff member rude. I've spent upwards of 3 hours browsing the store and looking at every single part imaginable, and guess what, every time I needed help these guys were there to help me. Every time I walk in they are all friendly, helpful, and just cool in general. In fact they've been so helpful that I've taken the plunge into RC racing now. And it's not just them, but the people who hang out and race there as well! They've got almost every part you would need in stock, so if you break something, they are always there to help on that as well, and their technician is quite good and affordable. Personally, I think these guys are passionate about what they do, and serious about growing the interest in these same hobbies that they are also into. Some of them are even pro level racers, and they are always willing to help a noob like me get good. Also, if you aren't into RC cars, their RC plane guy knows his stuff as well. They even have an RC plane simulator, controlled with an actual controller/transmitter like you would fly a plane with. Of course that isn't for me as I found out, smacking the ground with the nose of my plane time and time again...lol. If the RC stuff isn't your thing, they have literally everything, Gundams, Rockets, toys. If I'm correct, my girlfriend has even gotten a lot of her puzzles from Hobbytown, and every time she has nothing but nice things to say about the staff there. My 13 old nephew got a very expensive RC car which engine blew out from an upgraded battery they sold him. Came in to see what policy was since warranty said contact your local Hobby Town. No help! Just some pointing fingers, threati ng words about lawyers and alot of nerve trying to sell more stuff. 4 different sales assoicates, no help what so ever. I asked if it was their own kids would they want somebody to act this way towards them and the giy said no but still acted arrogant and rude, belittling the customers! People, this kind of store is not worth it at least the store in Omaha. They need a serious lessen in manners. Go to another store or order online. This store is nice at selling but horrible if you come back needing help. Fightening to kids !!! Very very very disappointing!!!! read more

If you need to get something fixed save your money, they promised me that my drone would be fixed in a week, but they kept putting it off for over a month and it was very poorly built and they even broke a vital piece on it NEVER go here for a fix read more

I visited Hobby Town for the first time yesterday. I am a teacher and needed a certain size wood for a model bridge competition our students are competing in. I immediately asked for help, seeing as how the competition is strick on the type and size of the wood. The guy at the counter refused to help me, saying that "the wood is over there." He was also knawing on his cheese and pretzles our entire conversation. When I helped myself to the wood section, many of the peices were in the wrong section. Some of the smaller peices of wood were not even labelled, I had to guess if it was the right size or not. I approached another gentleman seeing as how the first employee easily dismissed me. I told him that the wood was in the wrong sections and asked if he could check the size dimensions for me one his computer (the wood all had barcodes on them that he could easily check.) He checked one of the 27 peices for me and rudily told me that I should have looked at the labels when I plucked the peices. I told him that I did, however, most of the peices were in the wrong section. He didn't seemed too enthralled with looking up the other 27 for me so I decided to buy them all anyways and take my chances. I was entirely turned off by the lack of customer service. I found out when I got to school today that there was two peices that were not the same size as the other 25. (I pulled them all from the same section.) SO I lost out on money and time by having to sort through them myself. I will not be returning there due soley to the poor customer service. read more
