Visited this amazing bookstore when I was in Omaha and so impressed with the range of books they carry. They put a lot of thought, time and effort into their book displays. The majesty of the bookstore. It's a fading style of business, and one I'm fond of visiting. It's easy to locate. The parking is good. Much around it. Good location. Best part? They can find books easier and more readily than a simple web search. If you need a title, they go out of their way to find it. Their service has always been excellent. They host book clubs and author visits. I've attended an author visit that happens to occur while I was shopping, and that sold me two new books. I was most pleased. Cost was what I consider to be normal for book prices. Same seemed true for cards and stationery. They've also supplied cards and stationery. A definite bonus. Well worth attending! Such a cute little place to go to for a book! They had a decent collection and had some really cool items for your home, bookshelf, or even some self care. I loved how they had a calendar that displays different events you can go to for all ages. This event in particular was the romance bookstore day event. It was a blast! I love a good bookstore, and prefer to shop local, of course. The Bookworm is such an inviting and spacious shop, and they usually have the book I am looking for. On the rare occasions when they haven't had a particular title in store, they've always been happy to special order the item with no extra charge. They have a shelf of staff recommended titles, which is dangerous for those of us prone to impulse buying books. They also carry a nice selection of gifts, seasonal items, candy, stationery, and puzzles. One of my favorite things to shop for at the Bookworm, other than the obvious, is their selection of greeting cards, napkins and gift wrap, they have so many classy options. Caspari, anyone? Love. There is a separate area for children's books in the back, like a hidden little extra store. Their prices are perfectly reasonable. These are not the deep deep discounts of a certain evil online retailer, but I don't mind paying what a book costs from a cozy and friendly local place. I take every opportunity to stop in at the Bookworm, telling myself it's just to look. It's never just to look. read more

The Bookworm is a great independent bookstore at 90th & Center. I have used their website to look for and order books many times. I've also gone to the store to browse or pick up a specific item. The employees are very knowledgeable and can quickly locate what you are looking for. Today when I went to pick up a book, I couldn't find it, but the clerk took me to the exact spot.The children's area is small but mighty. There are classics, new books, fiction, nonfiction and even games and toys. The bookclub wall in the main section has books that various book clubs are reading as well as staff picks. At this time of year there are a lot of seasonal items and gifts of various types. The store is also pet friendly with treats for dogs. Once I was there with my exuberant lab who knocked down a display. The staff was very gracious about it, but I won't be bringing my dog again, just me. After all, I'm the reader, not him! read more

Independent book stores come in two varieties. One is a cluttered mess with dusty secondhand books stuffed on shelves, stacked on floors, and shoved anywhere else the staff can find. The other is clean and well-organized with a focus on new books and releases. While both types of stores are great, The Bookworm definitely falls into the latter. I had a few minutes to spare before an event at a nearby business, so I popped in to check out The Bookworm's newish digs. The store is really nice. There were laid-back English-major types working. The selection spanned from new pop culture releases to lit classics to throwaway fiction paperbacks. Even a few comics in the humor section. You'll also find greeting cards and other small gifts as well as a couple spots where you can pull up a seat and read. All-in-all a great book store. Staff are always super helpful during visits. I've also ordered online multiple times for specialty/niche titles and the helpfulness and customer service of staff has been outstanding. Really appreciate their 2020 modifications to keep staff and customers as safe as possible. read more

I've always liked the Bookworm but I really like the new location at 90th & Center. It is well lit, spacious and all one floor. The children's section has a great selection is a lot of fun to browse. I also appreciate the Book Club section. They also have unique, quality cards, calendars, and other book related items. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. I think it's cool that they allow dogs and also work with rescue groups to help adopt dogs. That's not even to mention all the authors, book signings and other events they host. The Bookworm is a nice, medium-sized bookstore with an extensive card and stationery section. Downstairs is a great children's and young-adult department. The staff is friendly without being overbearing and the books are well-organized. It is a welcoming shop--there are always cookies or some snacky food near the main entrance and, besides an active roster of book groups, lots of authors stop in for readings and signings. They won't have everything you are looking for, but, for the size of the store, their stock is great. read more

I recently met a friend for capuccino at the adjoining coffee shop and she introduced me to the owner and staff of the Bookworm. It's a wonderful bookstore with a good selection of quality books, including children's lit. They even keep track of what the different grades' bookclubs are reading, plus they have bookclub selections for adults. I asked for a recommendation on Omaha history and received an excellent and very fun book , A Dirty, Wicked Town by David Bristow. My husband and I are enjoying it immensely (Time to make the donuts!). I think this place will become a favorite of mine. It is located in Country Side Village, which also has a good cake bakery, a gourmet grocery, art galleries, a knit shop and a needlepoint shop. read more

This is by far my favorite book store, hands down! I have lived in Nebraska, Alaska, Arizona, Texas, and Louisiana in the last decade and I do my best to purchase as many of my books as possible from here. They have an amazing selection of best sellers and not as commonly known books as well. They are neat, clean, well organized, and have excellent service. If you aren't looking for books, but gifts or stationary, they also have a fantastic selection of both. Even better? They are pet friendly! You never know who you might see while perusing the shelves. That they are a small, independent book store is just the icing on the cake. Can't recommend high enough! read more

After hearing from friends that the new Bookworm is not what it used to be, I went to check it out. The new store is big, bright and cheery, if a little industrial feeling. The cement floors give a cold big box vibe. However, they customer service was over the top. We were helped to the right section of the store by one employee, and helped to directly to the book we were looking for by another. The staff also made several suggestions of other books we might enjoy based on our selection. Hopefully, the decor will warm up as they settle into the new space, possibly adding area rugs and comfy chairs or couches to give it a more cozy feel? I hope they don't lose business, and it only gets better for them in their new location. We'll be back, because we would rather shop local no matter what. read more

I stopped by to check out their new location. It's small and doesn't have all their inventory on their shelves up, but they answer Any questions you may have. I was looking for a particular book. I was told, their new customer base are asking for things , they hadn't carried before, but wil try to get those books in. They have an area only for kids, which I found inviting. Personnel is helpful, not many places to sit, and you won't find any coffee here. Books are not catagorized as in other bookstores, finding books somewhat difficult, but their still new and settling in, so I'll need to check back read more

This is a great independent bookstore! Not a huge selection but they will order anything in print for you. They have a frequent buyer program, a newsletter, great support for local reading groups, good reading suggestion, nice cozy nooks for browsing, and a coffee shop attached. What elase could you ask for in a bookstore!? Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Driving by the shopping center, I spotted this bookstore from my window. I convinced my husband to drive in there so we can stop at the bookstore! I was so excited! I was just talking about needing to get books and my favorite bookstore, which had everything, closed down. So, like I said, I was really excited to stumble upon this one! I love to support small businesses and this bookstore is definitely small and independently run. It's actually really amazing! They let you bring in you dogs on leashes, they have a coffee shop that you can walk in straight from the bookstore, and many different genres of books! They have suggested reading they the staff members display up by the cash registers that, if they never put them up there, I don't think I would have ever noticed! They are so on it! The only think that's not so good about this bookstore is that it is not very ADA friendly. I have a broken leg and can't really go up and down stairs too easily, but if you want to look at their children's books, you need to go downstairs. Also, their bookshelves are kind of close together, so I can say I took up most of the space! When I am not on crutches, I can say I will be back to this bookstore. It is truly a gem. read more

Beautiful bookstore with vast, well-curated selection of merchandise. Extremely helpful staff. I needed guest book suitable for a funeral. Was amazed to find so many perfect choices in stock. Asked staff if okay to purchase several with intention of returning all but one the next day after the widow had made her choice. To my astonishment, staff offered instead that I simply take all of the books on loan without any upfront payment. I was asked to provide only my name & phone number with the verbal understanding that I (a virtual stranger) would return the unwanted books & pay for one the next day.
