A hobby store with toys and art and random storage supplies. A bit of a mess in some areas and many of the items are priced with the expectations of a discount, I think! Still, similar to a Michaels but somewhat less organized. Staffers at the front are not efficient with checkout... and didn't ask if I had their membership or anything to credit the account. Hm. I went to go get fabric so i could make a blanket. When i got there i found what I needed and went to go get the fabric cut. A woman named Sue was the one who cut my fabric. Once i made it home. I laid it out and the cuts were completely uneven, not the right size, and not the same size as the other piece of fabric I got. I am very upset because i now have to recut the fabric myself, because the one job that needs to be done was not done right. I am extremely frustrated and dissatisfied with my experience. read more

First time at this location today. I needed fabrics by the yard today and went and picked up a bunch and went to get them cut. They have a bell to ring since they don't always have a team member there to cut fabric. I rang the bell, and a team member approached saying " you don't need to ring it that many times once would of been just fine" This took me by surprise, if you ever ring a bell there are sensitive, they ding that's what bells do. Not a "hi, hello, how are you" Instead I was greeted rudely. I asked for a manager right away and she starts to yell her managers name "LIZ" I try to explain how rude this team member is and customer service goes a long way, and the team member start to interrupt me say "oh my god" I say "oh my god" that's how you treat people here. The manager was a young girl who didn't have anything to say but "sorry" she seemed afraid of this Team member. Won't be coming back here and will be sharing my experience as much as I can't. A lady maybe a front end supervisor (shaggy hair /short -older looking with glasses) called me out while I opened a candy in the store for my daughter (yelled across the floor) "DID TOU OAY FOR THAT? My response was "I sure did". But I was humiliated in front of customers and my daughter. As a brown skinned woman, I definitely felt discriminated against. I had to explain to my daughter that we did not steal and it was paid for. The lady at the register whom I paid the money to said maybe she didn't see. And I said "that's no excuse". She could of kindly walked to me and asked. But she didn't. So before I left I let her know that she embarrassed me and also told her how she could of handled it. She apologized. I'm not satisfied. Had it been a "non-brown" person it's likely she wouldn't of approached in that manner. Im super humiliated and embarrassed. I Gm truly hope she never does that again. Her arrogance can cost her job or something worst. I'm not in the business of hurting or causing people to lose their job but she needs to change her approach on how she handles these kind of situations. Disgraceful. read more

I've been shopping at Hobby Lobby for 5+ yrs, the prices are reasonable and I love the items. When you walk in the store you hear uplifting christian music playing in the background which is the opposite of the rude cashiers that greet you during check out! For this store to be christian owned the customer service is lacking!! I've never had an issue while shopping at the Totowa, NJ location but since I recently moved nearer to the Springfield NJ I've been shopping at this location and have gotten nothing but subpar customer service and bad attitudes from the workers. The managerlooks like she's still in High School, and the elderly lady cashier was mouthing off at me when trying to return an item without a receipt. I have spent close to a thousand dollars$$$ at this locations since Christmas 2023 and was treated unfairly when I attempted to return 1 picture frame out of the 6 I purchased. The Springfield NJ Rt 22 location needs an immediate overhaul or employee training on the benefits of customer loyalty and how to earn it!!! read more

Come here to expect so many people that don't say thank you and act stupid. The workers mislabel everything and I thought majority of my stuff was 50% I go to checkout and she tells me otherwise. This place SUCKS. The cashier clearly can't do her job, next time do not put things in the sale section when it's not on sale according to the cashier. It's beautiful and even though a tad high price I find it worth it in the end. someone had a somewhat critical opinion of the store bri g closed on Sunday... well, don't move south as most stores are closed on Sunday for " family day. Staff following the safety protocol regarding COVID-19. Great selection of products. Clearance section could be organized more and definitely more staff on the weekends to cover for the register. 1 cashier with a long line angers some customer's (feedback from a customer in line), I was patient in line. Definitely needs some uplifting music, always boring music playing making me more sleepy to while I shop instead of being energetic and shopping. I am reviewing the quality of customer service, not the products themselves. I went to hobby lobby on 9/13 around 3pm. Worst cashiers I've ever had. There were only two cashiers just talking at the "returns and exchanges" line. The store is pretty much empty. I was standing at a cash register (which I had put all my stuff on... that they watched me to go) and did not tell me I was standing on a closed line until I asked. Keep in mind - barely anyone in the store. When I finally got serviced, the girl who helped me was nasty and acted like I was inconveniencing her. So disappointed. read more

I've been wanting a crafts store in my area for so long, and I was so happy when they opened this Hobby Lobby last summer. The closest craft store from here is Michaels down RT 22 W, which is still a good 10-20 minutes away from this location. I found the prices to be similar to Michaels in most things. The employees were super polite and helpful. The only thing that I don't like is the fact that they aren't open on Sundays. Something to keep in mind for last minute projects. This is a nice store but watch out with your change when you check out. Three times I have been shorted money upon checkout at this store. I have caught it each time when given the money back. Now I don't know if it's just me and the dark cloud or incompetent or dishonest workers but keep your eye out.
