While I prefer Michael's, they don't have fabric. And now without JoAnn, I'm relegated to patronizing Hobby Lobby. Today I went in at opening and was absolutely blown away by the needle craft section. I walked out with an Amigurumi kit, a cross stitch kit, an embroidery kit, a felt needle case, and four fat quarters for under $25. The Amigurumi was only $5.99! The same size, but a Wooble kit, was in the $30s at JoAnn and Michael's. I'm interested to try this and see how it works out. I guess, I'll happily and begrudgingly be back. Oh the mixed emotions. One of my favorite stores to visit when Im back from Japan. I can literally spend hours in here looking at all the fun things to do or supplies to buy. Makes me want to have my own studio. I so with there was a store in Japan. read more

I spend a lot of money here each year as I do many arts and crafts shows throughout the year. You would think that most of the most of the employees recognize me by now and would actually say hi or something cordial. Should you do a return, and if you order online and receive damaged goods, you cannot return them in the store. I'm constantly asked why I buy so much of the same items and even after explaining, the cashiers give you the stink eye as if little ole me is cleaning out their inventory. I have 2 Hobby Lobby stores near me and get the same treatment. I smile, am courteous, and cheerful. Nothing will break their unfriendliness. I've starting shopping at Michaels more and ordering supplies online now. I've called the corporate office and still nothing changes. And btw, 90% of their merchandise comes from China. read more

Rockford, IL location. No wheelchair available for someone with lower spine deterioration who can't walk very far at all without a good deal of pain. No restroom available for seniors with urgency issues. (I did ask one worker, she went off (loudly and in front of shoppers and other employees) on me over the issue. Ranting about people making messes. Hobby Lobby, are you too cheap to have enough employees to do a bit of janitor effort? Or to care for the limitations of elder shoppers? Does that support your religious claims? Okay, you have many fine items, a great variety and so on. Good store for that. But I challenge you to care more for other people, as the good book says. If you talk the talk, then walk the walk. read more

Pros: Clean, decent inventory. Sales are fun. An artist, crafter, or decor for home dream. Cons: The one wheelchair they have is broken (only need for big stores). Young employee I'd asked to help find items on a list ,did. Partway through just left without a word. I'd been polite, and very few customers in the store so was confused by this. read more

Went In real quick to look at a sale at about 5 minutes to close @ 8. I asked for help so I could be in and out. The manager stood over my shoulder and rudely escorted me out, "we are closed and I'm shutting down the register". Literally walked me to the door even though I said her proximity was making me uncomfortable. It was 8:02. read more

Came in here desperately needing a mat cut for a photography project, they were able to cut it for me within minutes with no objections. Very nice people, excellent customer service. Wide selections of everything, great material section, cute picture frames etc... Just remember, they aren't open on Sundays for good reason. read more

A huge warehouse store packed with arts and crafts supplies. Unlike Michael's, they have a cloth section. An extensive fake plant and home decor section. They also have reasonable prices for blank t-shirts for printing (located at the back of the store). Boo for putting out Christmas and Halloween decorations in July... read more

I went to the Rockford hobby lobby on 3/19/2016 I chose a few items and went to the register the cashier was un sure of the price on a few of the items as they were from the clearance section. (1 of them was a 4-inch wooden letter it was cracked down the middle and part of the back completely broken off, then a small mirror in a wooden frame that was cracked and separating and a picture with black smudge marks fingerprints and damaged corner and a small baby book that had three large holes on the front cover). She called up a CSM to find out if these items were on sale, we waited over five minutes for her to come up and she apparently went to check on the prices as she just away without a word. We waited another five minutes and she came back to see the baby look and said no that can't be right (it was marked 90¢ and it had 3 holes in the cover) and she walked away again. We waited for a few more minutes and then I finally asked her to please call the manager who took another 2-3 minutes to come up front and he looked at the items, we spoke about the damages and he walked away. After waiting again, I asked her to call and find out What was going on he said he picture was still a stock item and not on clearance, (It was damaged! the letter at 20¢ was basically garbage and the mirror frame cracked and splitting). Spent loads of money at this store every spare dime, and now every time I go back they have eliminated all the projects supplies and tools I need for them. Got rid of Winsor Fixative for pastels and, pastels panels, all of them, Scratch Boards, all of them and all of the tools that go with them and, Hi Gloss De Co Page coating. WOW what a disappointment. Not to mention standing in line for 45 minutes when you only open one register on the holidays. That is a BIG BOOOO in my book HOBBY LOBBY. YOU OWE ME.
