It was close to Christmas so I decided if I found something it would be great for a gift. I barely got noticed in the store and when I finally chose something I went to checkout. The woman was pregnant she made no acknowledgment of me, she put the merch in a box not giving me a bag and shoved the box toward me no thank you, come back and see us nothing. I walked out thought about how rude she was to and wish that I had declined the merchandise. I could tell I was not welcome there and every time I see the commercial I have a bad feeling. I love specialty shops but that one shop I will never shop in again. I felt discriminated against and it didn't matter whether I could afford it or not. I have experienced such negativity from a merchant in some time.

I was there last night, 4 days before Christmas. Crowded with people shopping, and multiple sales people on hand who asked me if they could assist, all cheerful. One young sales girl suggested Alex & Ani bracelets and I bought 3 for gifts. (THANK YOU!) My only complaint is she would not sell me the ones that she was wearing on her wrist. (Ha!) She was very helpful in spite of not having her own shopping done because she was working every day. One of the ladies at the counter who explained to me what each pendant on the bracelet meant looked incredibly sad. I wanted to give her a hug and tell her whatever it is, this too shall pass, but she was putting on a very stoic front to be professional, and I did not want to embarrass her. We don't know everyone's struggles so I will pray that she will work through this difficult time with what she is dealing with, and will ultimately find peace. Although I have never used the florist services, based on my total experience in the rest of the store, I am surprised at some of the bad reviews. I can only say I have not been disappointed here, but I also understand that sometimes a person can have a bad day, and one time does not make a trend; I would not give a bad a review as a result. Just want to end my review that the highlight of this store is the awesome wrapping. It is fast, beautiful and professional.....and is included with your purchase, and not just at Christmas time.

If you are thinking that you will be checking out lots of vintage items or updated vintage items, that isn't the case. There is some of this, but mostly new items. Several years later I was informed that the replacement lights were no longer available which left me with the decision of having my tree restrung with new lights or buy a whole new tree. I was not happy with the attitude and service from where I bought the tree so I went to Ambrose. The restrung my tree with many more lights then it originally came with and it looks amazing. Best of all, after three years I have had to replace only two lights-that's two lights total after three years compared to replacing dozen(s) of lights each year from the garden center.
