Last week I purchased a Christmas ornament, a small ballerina for my grand-daughter. I got home and then noticed one hand was chipped and one arm was broken off at the elbow. Today, I went back to exchange the ornament. They only had one left, which had a broken leg and a broken arm. I brought this broken one to the cashier at Register 1 where you make returns. I asked her for a refund, showing her the broken one I had purchased and then showed her the only one left in the store, saying I brought this one to you so you can throw it away, as it is also broken. She acted offended that I had brought the other one to the counter and replied "that wasn't necessary, we will hang the broken one back up, as someone may still want to buy it". She did not thank me for bringing the broken one to her attention, nor did she apologize that they sold me a broken one and I had to be inconvenienced by driving back to their store and standing in a long line to return it. What a terrible policy they have to just put the broken one back (so someone else like me can get home and then notice it is broken). Very disappointed in their customer service. read more

The selection is good and the store is always neat. The local Joannes just closed but it was dark there and it was hard to find things; the aisles were cramped and messy. The two stars are for the actual store because they had good deals. Unfortunately I went in today and forgot my phone in my car and was going to go out to get it and when I tried to go to the exit door an employee was very rude shouting that door was locked with a very bad attitude. After I picked a couple of items and headed to the front to check out. Once I got to the front ready to pay I pulled out my phone to pay with Apple Pay and the employee ringing me up rudely said we don't do Apple Pay. I obviously realize I shouldn't have assumed they had it but most stores do but it was more the fact in the way she said it. Over all disappointed in the customer service. I was also waiting in a very long line with one person ringing and two other employees just standing there talking. Poor service and the employees seem to hate to work there. read more

Great sales & selection, would want to buy everything in the store, especially the Christian decor/etc., I got all my purchase 50% off from the sales promotion and my total came out to only $3.46 for everything I needed! I was helped by an employee named Miqa, she was so enthusiastic and helpful, she went out of her way to help me find what I needed and then rung me up at the register with the same great attitude. 10/10 recommend! read more

I have been going to Hobby Lobby primarily because their prices are competitive, and I have frequently used their "custom framing" services over a fairly long period of time with hit and miss results. I have only kept going back because of competitive pricing and at times they have employed qualified staff. Unfortunately, they are not a qualified full service custom framing department and staff has a high turnover with often inexperienced staff producing glaring errors. The only draw to this section of Hobby Lobby is their low pricing but you end up getting what you pay for. Complaints to corporate for poor service and poor results are sent back to the store via the district manager who has no response. While shopping in Redding is limited, there are other options for picture framing services and many other products sold at Hobby Lobby. The failure of Hobby Lobby to rectify an egregious error on an expensive "custom framing" item is unacceptable and for that reason I have no plan to return to Hobby Lobby. I will add one further note: their practice of having an employee walk with you from the back of the store to the cashier to pay for your custom framing piece is utterly absurd and is because they have no cash register at the framing section in the back of the store which is standard in any store I have ever visited. read more

Fantastic selection of seasonal decorations, especially for Autumn/Fall. Friendly people. Framing shop did a great job of preserving and framing a couple of chalk caricature prints of my two kids that were done by a street artist on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco that we had in storage for over 30 years. We needed a quick turnaround on a canvas to be framed for an event, and he gave us great solutions and went over and above, both my husband and I walked out of there talking about him and how wonderful he was. Came in to get some crafts and it turned into this whole big ordeal we bought something they said they reviewed the camera footage and we went out with it we searched our car up and down never found it. This place is a scam there receipts don't show what you bought so you don't even know what you got or didn't they only have numbers some of the sale items didn't ring up on sale even though they were marked on sale we than tried to repurchase the item and they wouldn't let me repurchase the item the lady than told me to leave and threatened to call the police even though another customer was rude and cussed at us first but I didn't see that customer get kicked out just us! read more

I am very fond of hobby lobby. I find when I go there that I am relaxed by the music, the store layout and I enjoy looking at all the different things that are displayed. I usually end up spending way more than I expected to spend but always feel like I got a good deal. Today, however, I left very quickly. I encountered two sales people that were just rude enough to make me feel like it was not a pleasant experience. I am a former art and craft teacher, and, in two instances, when I saw that the salesperson was unable to help a costumer, I offered some ideas. On both times, I was rebuffed. The second time it was regarding elastic for a mask. Now, I have asthma, but try to wear my mask when I am around crowds. When I heard the sales lady unable to direct the customer to elastic, standing 8 feet away, I took off my mask to show them the two way stretch fabric I use. The customer then asked me why I wasn't wearing my mask. The sales lady chimed in too, loudly, tell me I must wear the mask in the store. I was too embarrassed to respond, and did not believe I needed to tell them about my medical condition, so I checked out before I had what I needed. I do have to say that Noah at the register it was very pleasant and I enjoyed the check out time. But I left feeling like I was some thing that the cat dragged in. I probably won't go to the Redding hobby lobby again. If it's not fun, why do it? read more

I shop at Hobby Lobby often and if I could find the things I wanted somewhere else I would. The managers are rude and do not know anything about customer service. The worst one is Melissa. She talks to customers like they are stupid. I went in there looking for a table cloth and she was too busy to be bothered by my questions. This isn't the first time I have had interactions with Melissa where she was rude. I don't know how she still works there. I've heard from other people that she is rude to everyone including the people who work there. She has no business working in customer service since she lacks any customer service skills at all. I do continue to shop there because I do like the things they sell. I hope the higher-ups catch on and staff the store with better managers. read more

Just be aware that if you purchase a Christmas tree and the lights do not work, you can NOT return it even with your receipt. Once the box is opened it is unreturnable. My question is how do you know if the lights work if you don't open the box? The cashier was unaware of that policy and was going to exchange it or take it back. Floor manager was not so understanding and was quite flippant about the whole situation. Her suggestion was to get a replacement from the manufacturers. Of course, we wouldn't receive it by Christmas. Therefore, we are out a good chunk of money. My advice to anyone purchasing anything that plugs in you should check it out before you leave/purchase it. We will probably not be patronizing this business anytime in the future. Worst customer service EVER! After 20 minutes of searching for the item I was looking for and trying to come across an employee in the store I finally went to the checkout and asked the two employees where glass etching was. One checker replied stating it's back in the left corner in the craft section. My response was could you give me an idea where. " Well, we don't really have aisle numbers so back there in the craft section". The other girl working up near the registers said "near the wood crafts". The original checker sad" no I think it's near the Stained glass". I only I said I've been looking for it for quite a while could someone show me where to find it. Both employees refused! And neither offered to find someone who could help me! After another 10 minutes of searching I finally found what I was looking for! Absolutely Ridiculous! I love the cute home Decour items you have and you're extensive inventory of crafting goods, but I think I will take my money elsewhere! I should note this is not the first time I've experienced poor service in the store. A couple of months ago I brought in some items to return that I had purchased online. The manager was called up to help with the return and she told me how unfair it was to the store that I was returning my online to purchase there. I purchased a tray table that had items on it. I went on shopping and they had the table at the front of the store for me, and someone helped me to the car with it. When I got home there were several scratches on the table due to things being on it. I wrote to see if I can get a discount and they said you have to take it up with the store manager, so I did and she said they probably wont give me a discount because almost every piece has a scratch or dent in it. I wanted to keep the piece and get some money back to paint it, but now.....I'm returning it!!! read more

Ordered a custom frame from Hobby Lobby and was told by the assistant that when I picked up I could use a 40% discount coupon which was available on line. Went to pick up and told coupon did not apply to frames. Spoke to the Manager Amber who told me she would not honor the coupon and the assistant who had waited on me was new and inexperienced. Amber was rude and had zero customer skills. Had this been made clear from the outset, I would not have placed the order and so cancelled the whole thing. I moved to the area to help take care of my ailing mother. I needed some supplies to help my dad organize her things. I drove 35 miles to get the supplies at hobby lobby and when I got there at 9:10 in the morning I was told that the store is only open to those 60 and over until 10 AM. I was very upset by this, and I did not know that this was their policy as it was not on their website. I will never shop at hobby lobby again because of this. read more

Waiting in long line only two checker, two people just left they baskets and walked out there is no excuse for this either hire more checker or get a better way to move the people along instead of manualing typing in the scu number maybe spend some money and get the scanners. No where on your web page does it state 9am to 10am is for senior shoppers. Myself and 8 other shoppers were turned away. While zero seniors in a 25 minute time span showed up. You must be making a very large profit during these times. Unfortunately you are the only local store that sells what I need. Looks like I'll order online from a different place if you're willing to turn away shoppers wanting to spend money while waiting for others to appear. I visit the Redding Hobby lobby quite a bit. I have never had a problem ever here. The staff is always friendly and ready to help. Check out is normal for a big store but the staff is always nice. The fun thing about this store is they have a little of everything there. I purchase a lot of air brush supply here. And when I was looking for a special item that I saw online they helped me find it. It was not the brand I saw but it still worked the same. I don't understand some of the negative comments the staff there has always been pleasant. Can't wait for them to open their doors in Chico... So excited.... read more

Today I went into Hobby Lobby with my fiancé and our two children, ages 5 & 7. I have to admit, I was not looking my best, being that I am in nursing school and was writing papers all day long until about 3 pm, when we arrived at the store (last minute decision so we could make a "leprechaun trap" for our kindergartener). So I was in sweats with no make up on, hair up, with some tennies. All four of us passed the manager, assistant manager and the "security guard" as we entered the store. We exchanged smiles and no less than 30 seconds go by when the guard awkwardly approaches me and asks if the diaries my children have in their hands were theirs. I was taken back, because they WATCHED US WALK IN, with the books I might add, and I kindly said, "No, they were purchased at a book fair today at my children's school." He quickly said okay and rushed off to find my fiancé and my two children where he questioned them also! The managers clearly told him to follow us. I get that he was trying to do his job, but he was a little intense and made me very uncomfortable. He continued to follow us around the store for the 30 or so minutes we were there. I also tried to find any diaries that looked remotely similar to the diaries that my children got that day and found none. I also get that this is Redding, and there is more than a fair share of whack jobs here but this was profiling at its finest. Deciding if I should take this up to corporate because I can't stop thinking about it! On a lighter note, my daughters leprechaun trap turned out cute as heck.... Those employees get called away in the middle of things on a regular basis and to criticize them because it's a Christian owned business and every Christian is supposed to be perfect and never make mistakes and never had a bad day... I can definitely say that this store has a lot of great product, but as for the customer service and the so called "security guard", well I can just say that I have never felt more violated or profiled in my life. Their security guard picked up a piece of trash off the ground and told me he saw it fall out of my pocket and when I proceeded to tell him it did not he insinuated that I was stealing something. For being such a "Christian" store I definitely felt like they labeled me as if I wasn't good enough to purchase anything in that store . The only saving grace for this store is they have the largest selection of Tim Holtz brand items in town. I cringe every time I go in because their staff is generally untrained and check out is soooo slow. I've always been a huge fan of HL!! The closest location is 3hrs south of me in the city, yet I've still visited HL on several occasions. When HL had recently opened in my home town I was beyond ecstatic! Since the new store opening in Redding CA 96003 I have shopped 3 times spending upwards of $150+ each trip. The selection is great & it's a clean store however this last visit has me wanting to take my business elsewhere!! The manager Amber is completely going against what HL is trying to promote. I've encountered an issue with a return on my most recent visit & was highly mistreated. Bottom line she was very rude. Being a store manager myself at a large grocery chain I understand the basics of handling day to day operations & was floored by her overall attitude. The customer is her paycheck & im not sure Amber understands the meaning of service. Unbelievable. Wow! Having a bad day? Dont visit Reddings Hobby Lobby!! I was soo excited to hear we were getting one.The store is huge and full of plenty of fun supplies. However! God forbid you need any help! Not only was the lady in the back rude but so was the MANAGER! Ive never been here before and some other craft stores in town carry other things. I needed to know where the stuff i needed may be. And she answered my question but when i asked about another item the grimace and rediculous expression she gave me made me want to call her out! And the manager was the same way! Some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Cut counter staff was extremely rude and unhelpful and we had to wait probably about ten minutes for someone to finally show up. When we reached the cashier the poor thing had a customer that had an item without a tag and called for someone to get one with a tag. The customer waited so long she went to retrieve the item herself and while she was gone who I'm assuming was a manager showed up. The cashier told her the customer went to look and the staff that walked up replied, very nastily "Next time cancel me so I don't have to walk all the way up." Very poorly organized, everyone looks like they hate working there and it sounds like it's because of horrible management. read more
