WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. i had gone in with my family and as soon as we entered we realized we were the only POC there , we didn't really mind it so we went looking for what we came for , once we passed a few aisles my sister informs me that there was an employee following us since we came in , we weren't sure if she was or not so we went to a few random aisles just to see if she was or not and when we realized she was following we spotted a second employee following us as well. it wasn't just ONE employee but TWO , we stood in an aisle for a bit and we kept seeing those two employees pass by peeking in the aisle a couple times and that's when we decided to leave , once we left we saw almost every cashier eyeing us , we decided to talk to the manager before we left and she completely paid no attention to what we were saying and got defensive on what we were telling her , she had an attitude and was contradicting us. Took tag to register handed it over. cashier calls Manager who I thought was getting the tree no...... Manager sees me writing check and tells me "before you write your check (which I had already written so I won't hold up the line) I will need for you to either call your bank directly OR open up your bank app to see if you have funds to cover this purchase" . I said WHAT??? She repeated herself and added "you can pay with cash" EXCUSE ME?? I shop at Hobby Lobby all the time and I have never had to do this! I ask her when did this become effective? She replied I don't make the rules Hobby Lobby does. I told her I need a Manager she proceeds to tell me she is a manager. I felt my blood pressure rising by the second! I told her do you hear yourself? You are asking to see my personal information! You are wanting to know how much $$$ I have in my checking account to cover the purchase! I don't think so! I only go here if Michael's is closed or if I'm in a hurry and don't have enough time to go to Michael's. This location is about 2 min from my house. I'd rather drive about 8-10 min to go to Michael's for multiple reasons. Hobby Lobby is bigger than Michael's, but Michael's has much better deals. You can always find a 40% off one regular priced item coupon at Hobby Lobby. The coupon does have restrictions but Hobby Lobby puts their prices a little higher and then has most things on "sale" so it's not easy to use that coupon. Michael's has much better coupons. They have 40% off an item, 50% off an item, and consistently have other coupons that are for your total basket, including sale items. Additionally, Michael's offers a 15% off total purchases to teachers when you show your badge. Hobby Lobby does not have any of this. I can also use multiple coupons at Michael's. So for example, I can use the 50% off one item and then use the 15% off total sales. It's really a great deal at Michael's. Michael's has a rewards program, which has an app and I can scan an item with my phone to find a price and at Hobby Lobby you can't do that. At Hobby Lobby it's hard to find an employee to help you. When I was looking for something in the frame section, I asked an employee and he said they do not sell that item. I showed him on my phone that on Hobby Lobby's website it showed it was in stock and available at that location. Instead of actually looking for it, he told me sometimes the website is incorrect. I needed the item so I kept looking and what do you know? I found it....without help. When I got to the register at Hobby Lobby, the cashiers hand type the stuff in, which caused an issue because the frame I was buying was not on sale (Yay! I get to use my 40% off coupon!) but the cashier type it in as it was on sale, which meant I couldn't use my coupon. I told her that it was not on sale for the item I picked. She said that brand was on sale and I told her that it excluded that size. I then showed her that if I was purchasing it online at Hobby Lobby that it was in fact NOT ON SALE!!! She said that she had to follow policy. I'm all for employees following policy, so let's get a manager over here to decide. It took the manager showing the employee the fine print in the sales ad that it excluded that size. Meanwhile, think about the line that is getting longer behind me. Hobby Lobby, why don't you have a better system where the employees can scan the items so that we are charged correctly. If I wasn't competent in math then I wouldn't have known to argue for the non-sale price. So it's rare to find me at Hobby Lobby, even though it's much more convenient for me. The 2 stars are because it always smells really good when you walk in, the store is always clean, and the store is really big. Looking for s lantern for a project, found one online and they don't have on the website if it's in the store or where it's located. Located in home goods is 40% of the store to me. After looking for 40 mins for that and a few other items I ask for help. The girls where very nice but walked around looking as lost as I was. They looked in the same location as I and said I could order it and still get the 50% off. I also needed artificial flowers and a few sticks. They have a huge selection of nice flowers but they are not cheap. I could buy real flowers for what they want and I'll be doing so. 19.99 for some sticks is also insane I'll get some out of a tree and paint them myself. I was minding my own business in an aisle when the MANAGER thought it would be a great idea to start turning off the lights in the building to rush shoppers out of the store as soon as the hour struck for closing. Then multiple employees stalked me and other customers to hurry up because the store was closing. On top of all of that, the hours have been changed to close an hour early than stated online. They are closed on Sundays so families can share time together or go to church. This location never seems to changes displays around, so it's easy to find things when you come in time and again. Every time I come here, the cashiers are always super nice and sweet. Also the floor workers are super helpful. They have usually what other Hobby Lobby's have but at times it seems like they have less things in some departments. I love going to Hobby Lobby more than Michaels to be honest. Their quality in things are definitely better than Michaels. It just seems to me that Hobby Lobby prices are cheaper because of the constant 50% off in certain departments every other week that they have. (A lot of what they have is mostly decorative junk meant to sit around and gather dust, rather than actual supplies for making things.) I love Hobby Lobby! I know a few of the employees there and they are very helpful, as well as friendly. Whenever Candice is there, she always shows me the new duck tape they have (I usually end up buying 3 or 4). Ms. Paula and Stephen in framing are always so nice. Ms. Idelta in fabrics is helpful and friendly, and Becki is my favorite cashier. I've never come across someone who wasn't nice or helpful. I have never had a hard time finding anything and I LOVE the stamp selection. I feel that they have more than what you can find at Michael's. I like that they are closed on Sunday so the employees can have time for family and worship even though it seems that I always think of something I need on a Sunday lol. My friend and I went shopping for paint and as we went down a aisle we realize that we were being watched .The manager who refused to give us his name And was somewhat of a bully calling me names like smartelec just for asking for his name and this is not the first time he has followed me through the store. Usually very friendly people. Until we asked for help. We were looking for the letters in my son's name for his room. We didn't know that they only order half the alphabet on every set. Some letters are just not bought enough they said. Anyways we asked if we could get them anywhere else or if they could check the back since at every single location we were told different!! One location said the letters change with every order and to wait for the next order. Others asked us to go to different locations. Only lady was asked to look in the back and rolled her eyes at EVERYTHING. Answered our questions as if we were annoying and stupid. We had one of these at every location that day. I used to only shop at this Hobby Lobby for all my jewelry making supplies. Lately I have been going to Michaels. I never realized before that they have to know all the sales items when they ring you up. I knew they didn't have a scanner but I thought the correct price came up when they entered the item code. WRONG. They had to get a price for a piece of candy I was buying and it went downhill from there. I bought Vintaj Parawire and when they entered the full price I told them no it was on sale. The manager said no it wasn't. She said only the Vintaj jewelry supplies. I told her no, look it up online. She did and said I was correct. Then I see when I get home that the Jewelry Shoppe findings I bought were charged to me at full price as well that she rang up while I was disagreeing with the manager. When I called I was told I can come for a refund but they don't have scanners and everything is entered manually and so if they don't remember all the sales, they enter full price. Sales start on Monday so there is a good chance they won't know. That is crazy. I guess I buy online or go to Michaels from now on. Nice and clean store and beautiful items, but if you aren't going to get your sale items at sale price, it defeats the purpose of shopping for sales. read more

I went with my son to pick up Homecoming supplies to make his first Garter. It was the worst experience I ever had. The staff, and I asked several was unhelpful. they had limited amount of supplies and when I asked if they had any in another I was told and i quote well we have over 800 stores so we do not know when they will ship any out to us. I could not get anyone to help me or direct me to the aisles when I asked were something was they would just tell me its's by the sowing aisle, which I wouldn't know because I had never been there before. When I got to the cash register the Cashier was extremely rude and unknowable of were anything was. I asked her for Balloon ribbon and she was like what's that? Then I asked another worker where it was so my husband could grab it and she had the Audacity to ask me why tell him to hurry when I said for him to run. which is a small joke between my husband and I. He knew I wasn't being rude. What she did realize is that I have a high risk pregnancy and cannot run. After that she continued to get an attitude with me. I will never go back to this store again, and I will be returning all the products that i purchased form them. Turns out I was able to get a complete full garter made in thirty minutes at Kroger, for 40 dollars less that I spent at this store. read more
