Today after treatment at the cancer center I decided to go into Hobby Lobby in Greenwood, Indiana. I went in to get a small bottle of paint to paint a pumpkin. I found a good color and found myself next looking at clearance. I found some fun finds. A plate with a chip i may be able to fix, a plastic pumpkin plate with a side broken, a mirrored terrarium like candle holder. The top was broke off and kind of hanging , one of the sides had a crack in the glass. I wondered if more may be taken off as it was marked 1/2 off. I looked at the same one in the candle aisle with nothing wrong and 50% off. My husband does glass work and it would be a project. The cashier was kind and helpful. She called for a manager. Ron appeared after cashier paged twice. When I asked for a discount he said it is discounted. I said with the shape it was in I thought maybe it could be like an additional discount. I expected a yes, or no answer. That was not the response. Ron spoke to me in a belittling tone. He asked why I was asking when the price was marked. I would have accepted and preferred a simple no. I do not understand his response or tone. I am a regular customer. I have prior to this encounter always had good service. read more

Hobby lobby is sometimes overwhelming since they have so much stuff and you just want to buy everything. This is not a store to just browse in because you will be broke when you leave. My brother always shops here for birthdays and Christmas because it's a pretty good bet that you'll find something that someone you know will like. They usually have pretty good sales and 40% off coupons on their website. I was shopping for storage boxes for my office and they had a pretty good selection to choose from. My only complaint is that the lines are usually really long even when they have a lot of different registers open. Be prepared to wait. read more

Good customer service goes a long way. Unfortunately, that is not what I received at this Hobby Lobby. I went in specifically looking for football decor, that had friend told me was present at this store. Hobby Lobby has a large selection which is great, but it can be hard to locate items. None of the employees greeted guest. Once I found an employee to ask for help, she was extremely short with me. Afterwards I attempted to find it myself. I decided to give it another try and ask another employee. She acted as though I was bothering her and in fact walked away mid conversation to help another employee and did not return. Since I was in there so long, I couldn't our empty handed. The lines were terribly long and had few cashiers. Will I return again? Probably not. Will I recommend this location? Hobby Lobby carries the same merchandise from store to store. I still prefer the Avon location over Greenwood due to size and arrangement. Prices are affordable and coupons are online. I particularly enjoy the 50% off every other week on many categories throughout the store. I've taken advantage of the 50% off on many items, especially the florals, vases and candlesticks, and it's been a tremendous savings. During the half-off sale is the perfect opportunity to purchase seasonal decor and picture framing. Usually if it's not on sale wait one week and check again if you have the luxury of waiting. If you've never been to Hobby Lobby and you enjoy crafts, hobbies, sewing, home decor, seasonal decorations, small furniture such as chairs or chests, picture framing and floral arranging then pop in. In the middle, you can find baskets, knick knacks, small furniture pieces, and plenty of other things for your home. The stuff isn't of the high end quality, but they do have some neat items that you don't see elsewhere. And if you are trying to decorate on a budget, then it may be your favorite place to start. Hobby Lobby is a huge store with plenty of decor and craft items at reasonable prices. If I'm looking for certain items I will have to go to Hobby Lobby. The store is well organized. The staff is friendly for the most part. It can get busy and their line system is a little odd. Wish they carried Halloween items but with their corporate beliefs- they are unable to do so. They are closed on Sundays but their hours are pretty good for the other days they are open. read more

This store is closest to me. I usually find what I need there. They have a varied selection of most things. Their sales can be decent. I did hear recently that they are discontinuing their main big discount coupon deal. I had a frustrating issue with trying to return an item that was damaged. It had something to do with purchasing it online. I didn't really understand what the true problem was. They were reluctant to do the return and insisted I call the corporate number to deal with the transaction. I was to return it via the mail and then I was to pay for the shipping? No shipping label option was offered. I also wondered if they would charge me a restocking fee as well. It was very disorganized and not customer friendly at all. I even agreed to do an even exchange at the store. It's just ridiculous, disappointing and odd to me that they wouldn't honor or guarantee their items purchased online. I don't know how anyone would go somewhere else to get their craft or decor needs. Their prices are remarkable and are topnotch compared to other craft stores! They always have coupons too. I get discounts everytime I go. Even some of their products with regular prices are always marked down on a daily bases. (Example: frames have a daily marked down price) I've been going to Hobby Lobby for years. My mom would take my sister and I as kids on a trip JUST to go to Hobby Lobby. But enough reminiscing. Hobby Lobby has everything you could need, want, and items you didn't know you needed or want. Their products are divided in sections. Being a crafty type of woman, it's hard to organize everything I personally own. They do their best organizing fine art, decor, kids crafts, modeling, jewelry, woodwork and DIY in their own section. I have a tendency to back track though because sometimes I think products that should be next to each other are not together. Their return policy, golden! Especially if you buy items you think you will end up using but do not use at all. If you think you will never get around to them, they are happy to take your items back no questions asked. I've only returned items I didn't end up using. If you think however (for example) floral arrangements do not end up looking good together, or if an item is banged up, they'll take them back too. I personally have never came across newer item that were banged up while shopping. They have a great clearance section for items like this, or out of season items. They even have decorative items for those who are "less crafty". You can buy floral arrangements, vases, candle holders, precut blankets, scrapbook kits, posters and wall art..the list goes on for the premade activities and decor. I purchased a Christmas tree on 10/31/20,tried to return on 11/16/20 because the tree lights were not working. The store assistant manager, Angela refused to accept my return and stated I needed to contact the manufacturer. I contacted the store's corporate office and Sharon in customer service rectified the situation. She contacted the store manager and educated them regarding the 90 day return policy. I returned the defective tree and was credited a refund. Unfortunate that I had to call corporate, but Sharon was excellent to deal with. Great job Sharon!! read more

So I've been in a crafty kinda mood since I changed jobs. I have more time! So over the course of the last 5 years I have been collecting menus to decorate my kitchen with....and found myself here with the urge to buy frames for said menus. I had to get a few custom mats made....by Matt. Who was quick, efficient and listend thouroughly to what I wanted and was so helpful! I did find that a lot of the frames seemed banged up and battered and had to be picked through. Poor handling upon the store or other customers....makes for bad choices. But after some searching and digging I found what I needed. Upon check out with my frames...9 total. I asked the check out person (name forgotten) if they did price adjustments if the product went on sale. She said yes, but I'd need to bring the frame in...which really, is ridiculous if you ask me. I said I am going to have these hanging on my walls so I have to take them down and bring them in. She called a manager over (Alisha) who compromised with if I brought the fake family insert and the sticker they'd price adjust.-Score. I got my purchase home and set forth in framing away....until i found on the inside cracked glass on a few frames. Scratch this plan. I decided I'd take them back....and went back on Sunday....they were closed. Which I think is great. So I popped into their neighbor. Back again on Monday-return and price adjust. Where the manager on duty said do you have the frames we are price adjusting. I referred to the above conversation and she just said ok....with an eye roll. I do really like the store. You can get great craft ideas and deals to do said crafts with. They have cool decor and overall the staff is helpful and the prices are decent. The hassle of even bringing back frames is ridiculous to me Also in just checking, I had a price adjustment done on Monday and it still hasn't posted to my account..........calling the store now.. read more

In general, I like going to Hobby Lobby over Michaels due to fact that there are actually people that work there, even during non-weekend days. They also have good sales going on, and if you don't get a flyer about the sales, all you have to do is access Hobby Lobby on your phone to the find the latest coupon. This Hobby Lobby was neat, well stocked, and had a person up by the cash registers to monitor the flow of customers so that they could open another line. As a customer, I appreciate that. read more

I generally like this store and they have a great selection. I was in two weeks before thanksgiving, found what I wanted and went to check out. There were two cashiers one was doing returns and checking out new customers the other was fairly new and not well trained. The lines were at least 8 people deep per line and after moving very slowly, I set my stuff down at left. I didn't not have another 15 min to wait in line. read more

I stopped in to buy a matte for a drawing but they didn't have the size I needed in stock. The manager (I don't remember her name, short, blonde, curly hair) happened to ask me if I needed any help and she said they could cut a matte to size right then and there. Perfect. Matt ended up helping me and was extremely helpful and courteous. The only problem I had was with the cost of the cut matte, they charge $13! The entire board was priced at $6.99 so they charge $6 for the cut and they keep the rest of the matte board! So now they can charge at least 1 or 2 more people for the board that was already purchased. Ridiculous! I will continue to shop here but I certainly will not be purchasing any more custom mattes! read more

Dropped off a print for custom framing at the Greenwood, IN store on July 5th and it was to be picked up on July 17th. I made a special trip to Greenwood to pick it up only to learn that they hadn't started on the project. I was told it would be ready sometime later in the day depending on foot traffic and they couldn't provide an estimate. On my way out, I asked a cashier if they would offer a discount since I would have to make two trips (20 - 30 minutes each time) and she called a manager. He asked if anyone had called me to tell me it wouldn't be ready and I told him they had not, but he wanted to check the log. When he returned from the custom framing area, he told me that the clerk said she had told me it would be ready at noon. That was not true. He went on to say that he couldn't do anything because, "technically, it is still the 17th." I guess that means you should arrive ten minutes before closing time to pick up your orders. Not pleased that no work had been done, I was lied to, and the manger was rude. This is my last trip to this store as Michael's is next door, and they have custom framing as well. I expected more for a $149.25 order. read more

I am planning a baby shower for a dear friend so you are going to see a lot of posts from me about party planning places and craft places...etc over the next month or so...not to mention the baby places I go to...if I can find them. We seem to be lacking in that department here in Indy...at least from my prospective. Anyways...Hobby Lobby. Great place, great prices...they always seem to have something 50%...not just individual prices mind you...but whole DEPARTMENT....like right now I think the whole bridal department is one sale...crazy! Great place to go to for Christmas decor...it is August right and they are already preparing their Christmas department...that is how HUGE it is. Shelves and shelves of ornaments, gift bags, decor, stockings...everything imaginable and then some! I really like their interior decor section...not just for christmas but for everyday decor. Will not be visiting this location ever again. All my business goes to Michaels from now on. I went in today in search of little foam beads (the kind to make the floam slime with) and this store is huge, my issue isn't with the store itself at all. I love the selection of so many items and all it has to offer. The cashier I got today however, was horrible. I think her name was Deb(?) but I'm not too sure. All I was doing was asking her simple questions about things and mind you, I had my phone out and was on their website looking these things up. She was lying to my face about EVERYTHING and had the worst attitude. Even after I showed her what I had pulled up she continues to deny me and tell me I was wrong, because I guess it's just too hard for someone to press 2 extra buttons on their register. A good thing I found was a 40% off coupon for any one item and she straight up told me I could choose which item to get the discount on. I was already getting an item that was 30% off so I figured to use the coupon on the item that wasn't already on sale and was a bit more pricey than my other item. She gave me the discount on the item that was already on sale. She was just full of lies, attitude, and laziness. read more

This is not so much a review of Hobby Lobby as it is for UCPservices who handles the warranties on some of their Christmas trees. I purchased a pre-lit tree in Dec. of 2015. I had it up for 2 weeks. In 2016 when I put it together the middle lights would not come on. I called HL and they give me info for UCP services... that is when the trouble started. In the month since this started....I have spoke to ten....yes ten different people at UCP. Each time I was asked for a different set of info. The call I made to day only added to my frustration. When I gave them the claim number that was sent to me by UCP in an email on more than one occasion, I was told that was incorrect and they could not help. I called back and talked to a second person who was able to pull up the claim using that number. They told me someone would call me back. I know they won't, because I have been told by every person I spoke with they would call back....I have not received one call. I even asked the guy that I spoke with today if anything was going to be done with this claim. His response was he did not have access to that info. The people at HL have been very helpful...but it seems their hands are tied. So, I guess my advice would be not to buy anything that requires a warranty from them. The warranty is worthless. This was a $400 tree that I bought for 50 percent off. I feel it should have been good for more than 2 weeks. read more
