This is my go to crafting store! I can find literally anything here! I curate gifts for friends, find baking supplies, and even some cool unique home finds you can't get at other places. Items are generally priced the same as other business but in comparison to size of the store and availability of products I love coming here. It's well organized, layout makes it easy to find what you need and everyone is welcoming. I think the overall service is good. Checkout can be a challenge with one or two lanes open. read more

Working in the event industry, I'm constantly on the hunt for more items/props. Not just for myself but for customers as well. Hobby lobby is stocked full, & there is always some crazy deal going on. The store is in a convenient location, it's clean, and it's organized. Hobby Lobby is a fun place with a huge selection, which is the 3 stars. Why I didn't give 5 stars is because every single time I go to this Hobby Lobby, the customer service is absolutely terrible. I've been in check out where the cashiers are chit chatting instead of interacting with the customers. Every time I go, I see many employees on the floor and none of them greet you or ask if you need help (usually do need help!). Usually avoid you or act irritated if you ask for help. Today I asked a lady in the flower department where something may be. She acted like it was a problem I asked. Slowly turned around with an annoyed look and told me in an annoyed tone. Sorry for asking :/ I won't have them do their jobs anymore, because I'm done going there. I've decided to go to Michael's from now on. Service has always been great and they've always had what I've needed. Would rather give my money to people who are nice back to me. read more

Hobby lobby has a great selection of items, and it definitely has what I need for my small business. My biggest problem is the inconsistency with employees knowing what's on sale. I understand that the sales change every week, but I always see the "cheat sheets" at the registers. The past 3 times I've been in the store, I've had to let them know an item is on sale when they don't correct the price. And a few times I've been met with attitude, telling me an item isn't on sale when it in fact is and it states so on the sheet in front of them. read more

Why only 1 cashier during lunch hour? Not everyone has that kind of leisure time. Tried to make a quick stop and walked right back out after seeing 7 people in line! Greetings Everyone! I was in my hometown, Grand Rapids, Michigan celebrating my 20th Year High School Class Reunion this past weekend. I wanted to purchase a new shirt for the formal dinner later that night (July 23, 2016). As I approached Rivertown Crossings Mall I saw HOBBY LOBBY in a strip mall very close to the main mall. I decided to stop in. We have HOBBY LOBBY stores in the Detroit Metro Area, but the locations are very far from where I live (Royal Oak, MI). I was VERY impressed by the wide variety of merchandise in the store and the affordable price points. This was my FIRST TIME ever entering HOBBY LOBBY. As I browsed through the watercolor section of the art supplies, my cell phone began to ring. I silenced my phone and placed the phone back into the side pocket of my khaki cargo pants. I do not like to talk on the phone while shopping. Seconds later an older female FLOOR ASSOCIATE approached me and asked me if I needed help. I said, "No, I'm just browsing the watercolor supplies." Then she said, "Well, what did you put in your pocket?" For a split second I laughed because there is no need for me to steal anything and I had my wallet in my hand the entire time I was in the store? I then told this FLOOR ASSOCIATE, "Oh, that's my cell phone. I silenced it and put it back into my pocket." I then pulled my phone from my side pocket to show her. In my opinion, I should not have even taken that step to prove that I was innocent and clarify the situation. Then I said, "There's no need, there's no need..." Implying that there's no need for me to STEAL anything from this store. The FLOOR ASSOCIATE replied, "Just checking." I was very insulted by this experience and I really wanted to maintain my composure. I did not want this situation to escalate. I continued to shop and finally made my way to the checkout line. The cashier was kind and completed my transaction quickly and professionally. I asked the cashier if she would alert the Store Manager, Scott Murphree, because I wanted to share my FIRST experience at Hobby Lobby with him. Shortly after Scott Murphree was called, he came to the checkout lane and I recounted my experience with him. He heard my story and apologized for the unpleasant experience. Scott mentioned that he would address my issue. I did not obtain the FLOOR ASSOCIATE'S name, but she had A LOT OF NERVE asking me what did I put in my pocket? I am 100% confident that she heard my LOUD iPHONE 6 ring and then was silenced. I was not talking on the phone and I had to put my phone somewhere? Anyway, I was very impressed by the wide selection of merchandise at Hobby Lobby and I plan to visit the store again. Hopefully this experience was an isolated event. Thank you Mr. Murphree for having a professional demeanor and listening to my experience. Like I mentioned, I did not get the FLOOR ASSOCIATE'S name, but she was really doing too much! I am confident that when she approached me that response was not in line with Hobby Lobby's protocol. I will remember this experience each time I wear Cargo Pants. That's sad. I am an Advertising/Marketing Professional (with over 15 years of Professional Experience) located in the Detroit Metro Area and I consider myself an amateur mixed media artist. I am a Michigan State Graduate and I consider myself a well rounded individual. For that FLOOR ASSOCIATE to approach me and accuse me of stealing VERY INEXPENSIVE merchandise was a MAJOR insult. I hope she finds comfort in her weekend job at HOBBY LOBBY. Although this experience was negative, I won't let it change my positive outlook on the overall experience at HOBBY LOBBY. I love the selection of home decor and crafts at this Hobby Lobby, but DONT go here for fabric! The selection is tiny (one small corner in the back), and the customer service at the fabric counter is dismal. I waited 20 minutes to get one yard of fabric cut, while the employee, Melissa (brown hair) moved extremely slowly to complete another customer's large order (over 35 bolts of fabric that all needed to be cut). While this customer was shopping in another area of the store, Melissa refused to complete my order, and took 20 minutes to call another employee the take care of the other customers waiting in line. I would hope that management would train their employees to make more efficient and appropriate decisions. read more

Bathroom alert! Please clean your women's bathroom! Not sure when it was cleaned last as I was there for Black Friday morning and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Dumping the waste basket is not cleaning. Toilets, sinks and floors also need to be cleaned and disinfected! Just saying.....gross! read more
