Stoffer home is at the top of my list for interior design and home decor store in grand Rapids. When I went in over the weekend, they were switching the store up for more spring stuff and I can't wait to see it all fully out. The vibes are perfect and I could spend the whole day wandering around in there. It is on the higher end side in terms of price but so is their quality and I think you get what you pay for with them in terms of value! I was enthralled by the beauty of Jean Stoffer designs. Especially after seeing her work on The Magnolia Network. I reached out regarding the cabinet designs Stoffer designs offered and I was digitally met by two wonderful designers. They were true professionals and very knowledgeable. However, I did not realize they only accepted cash. After going through discussions about the design I wanted for my kitchen, I was told to make a deposit and I was sent a link. It allowed me to pay via credit. Sadly, when it was time to proceed with the actual cabinet order, I was told it was cash only. When I expressed that I had no idea that was the only option, ultimately, I was told my deposit of $4500 was non refundable. I was left with no cabinets and $4500 short. Cliqstudios has the same exact cabinets and I proceeded to go with them. Especially knowing that Jean Stoffer uses MDF for the face fronts of her cabinets just like all the other companies do. Cliq Studios offers the same cabinets for half the price and they offer no interest payment options. In addition, the shipping cost is free with Cliqstudios whereas with Stoffer designs, they charge. Finally, Cliq Studios provides the design package for free. Even the design itself looks better from Cliq Studios. You can easily visualize what your kitchen will look like. Stoffer's renderings are antiquated. Save your money and go to Cliqstudios. If I can save one person from over spending and going through what I have, then my job is done. I am not one that likes leaving negative comments, but this one is necessary. It seems Stoffer designs is more interested in a quick buck than caring for the customer. Buyer beware. I've included the renderings of each company in the review. Stoffer's design did not start my renderings from scratch. I provided renderings I previously had. This is my wives favorite place. Whenever we go to Grand Rapids. We stop at here. The customer service is always top notch and the building is old but with a lot of character. As for their price ... they are a bit more expensive that big box stores. But we don't mind shopping and supporting the local shops. They specialize in home decor and quality is good. read more

Buyer beware. No returns. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with Stoffer Homes online store. I ordered a large set of kitchen cabinet hardware. I thought it would be great but when it arrived it was much more beefy than the photos depicted. I tried to send it back immediately but they do not take returns on cabinet hardware! (it was not a sale item either). It seems their supplier doesn't take things back so they wont accept returns. Customer service said it stated that online, but it must be written very, very small because I never saw that policy. Of course most people wouldn't expect to purchase something at an expensive home goods site and think they don't take returns! Terrible business model for high-end online store. I wonder if Jean knows she lent her name to such an outfit? We are remodeling a large 125 year old farmhouse. Lots of purchases to be made! But, no more orders from us. Never again. read more

Stoffer Home has horrible customer service. They care more about making money short term than keeping customers. I ordered 2 dining benches and Stoffer Home did not put the apartment number I provided on the shipping order. I did not receive a confirmation order stating the incorrect address. Due all the issues, FedEx delivered the benches back to Stoffer stating Stoffer needed to fix the address. I reached out to customer service and they refuse to help me and are stating despite my purchase for $1200, I need to pay for shipping if I want them. This is ridiculous and crazy to me they would rather lose a lifelong customer than resolve this incredibly stressful issue. PLEASE don't buy from them if you are not willing to gamble that you'll receive your order! read more

After discovering Stoffer Home from the show series, I was excited to order and really wanted to love the tea cups and matchstick holders. Unfortunately, the matchstick holders wouldn't light the matches (which is why I purchased them for always-ready striker) and the cups were smaller than I liked. Ordered these despite shipping fees for delivery and returns. And the products didn't qualify for returns, I guess it's considered "furniture". Slightly disappointed. read more

We traveled specifically to this store with high hopes due to the program online. We were dressed very nicely and entered to shop to get coffee and enjoy shopping. We were in the store for over 20 minutes surrounded by employees chatting and hanging pictures. We were completely ignored, never greeted and had to avoid certain areas as the employees were opening drawers and hanging pictures. We felt invisible! Needless to say, we left very sad without any coffee or any of the gifts we had planned to buy! I was unaware that I could not exchange a pillow cover for a different cover. If there is a no exchange policy it should be more clearly stated. If you can't return a pillow cover there should be a better color description and better photographs that more helpful when choosing a color. The photographs have a dreamy atmosphere so it is hard to tell. There is absolutely no customer service. They do not answer inquires or emails before or after a purchase. Buyer beware!! Do not purchase your rugs from this distributor. I googled the rug that I was looking for. This business pays google to be listed in the results. In the advertisement listed in the google results, it said 30 day free returns. I went through the ordering process with NO WARNINGS OF NO RETURNS/EXCHANGES. When I spoke with customer service (Luwi) they would not budge or make an exception, even with all the proof I had that they were misleading the customer. Now I am stuck with a rug I can't use which can and should be easily exchanged. Use another distributor for your rugs!!!! read more

Oh, no! I overpaid $180 more for a rug here. It's terrible to not be able to trust Stoffer Home to be honest and fair with their dealings. It's ok to pay a little extra for something, especially if it is curated for you, but $180?! It's a higher markup than a drop shipper, and that's just not right. I will never buy or support anything that has to do with Stoffer Home ever again and I will be advising my friends likewise. I'm a school teacher and I feel like I've been taken advantage of. The SAME exact rug, the SAME exact size is $180 cheaper elsewhere. I wish I would have done a simple internet search instead of trusting Stoffer Home. I submitted an inquiry form to get an estimate for a kitchen remodel through Stoffer. The quote I received back was over $20,000 what I listed was our maximum budget for the kitchen cabinet remodel. I'm not sure what the purpose of asking for a kitchen budget is in the inquiry form if the company is unable to work within that window. When I asked if there was a way to work with the budget we had (which is substantial enough for kitchen cabinets) I received radio silence. Poor customer service for a potential repeat customer and future recommendations. read more

Most times the rugs are shipped incorrectly and the packaging is ripped, the rug is a return, or it has been photoshopped so much that it looks completely different in real life. I purchased 2 pendant lights from Stoffer and paid over $1,300 expecting they would be great quality. I had my electrician try to install the lights and BOTH pendants had broken/ bent screws and quick links. They were so bad the electrician told us hanging these would be a safety issue. I waited over a week to get an answer from Stoffer and the vendor for them to only offer to send replacement screws. The screws are bent at a 90 degree angle I cant even take them out to replace them. Save your money and DON'T buy from this place. They overcharge for subpar quality products.
