Borgman Appliance was recommended to me for a washing machine repair. The owner came within a few…read moredays of my call, quickly diagnosed the issue and said he had to order a part. This was on a Thursday in July. He said the part would arrive early the next week. I didn't hear from him for three weeks and he didn't return my messages. On the last day of August he finally called me back and said the part would be in the following week. He came to my house in mid-September to install the part and left me a phone message saying he would be on vacation for "a week or two" and to call him if there were any issues. Whatever part he replaced DID NOT fix the issue, so I called him back to let him know 8 days after his visit to my house. It has now been three weeks since I left Jerry Borgman a message saying my washing machine still doesn't work and he has not called me back. I am completely disgusted by this 3-month ordeal. You don't run a business by ignoring your customers. I am not normally one to leave reviews but I wanted to spread the word so others don't use Borgman Appliance Repair and have the same awful experience I did.

After a quick 20 minute look, the technician concluded, "Yeah, you need a new motor..." As an engineer, I found the assessment incomplete; there was no access to the motor, no terminal isolation, no resistance checks on the windings, and no inspection of the blower wheel. I mentioned I was getting the E65 error code, which manufacturer documentation links to a high limit thermostat trip, yet there was no check for restricted airflow, clogged venting, a faulty heating element, or a blown thermal fuse. Just a blanket statement that the motor needed replacement. Providing additional information to the techs is just irrelevant, I guess. I hired a professional because I don't have time to do the diagnostics myself. After paying $110 for the visit, I was quoted nearly $1,000 to replace the motor--and contrary to what their website states, the $110 was not applied toward a possible repair. Very disappointing.

The guy came out, looked at the machine and told me that I needed to get a new one. He then proceeded to charge me 80 bucks for a house call, which I put on my card so as to have a record. I then called a different company who replaced the belt for 30 dollars. This happened several years back and I still have the machine which works great now that the belt was replaced. I keep this company's magnetic business card on my fridge underneath a big red circle with a line through it so my family knows to never call this place again.
