I brought my dress to A Perfect Fit Alterations, and while they managed to shorten and take it in, they forgot one key component: making sure the zipper would actually zip. Apparently, the zipper was a "little tricky" but promised it would work. Spoiler alert: it didn't. Cue my wedding day - me, several friends, my mom, and a handful of safety pins doing emergency dress repairs. When we emailed afterward, they responded that we "should have called." I had no idea there was an elite zipper squad on standby. Recommendation? Should've read the other reviews. 1 star.

I had a very disappointing and stressful experience with this wedding gown cleaner and would not…read morerecommend them to any bride. I dropped off my wedding gown prior to my destination wedding in Mexico for a cleaning and press. My dress was a sample gown purchased off the rack, and the bridal boutique provided a certificate for a free cleaning. Since the boutique recommended this business and they advertise themselves as "wedding gown specialists," I didn't hesitate to trust them with my dress. The cleaning and pressing took two weeks, and I picked up my gown a week before leaving for Mexico. At pickup, the clerk unzipped the garment bag, asked me if it was my dress, and then zipped it back up. I was not asked to inspect it--only to identify it. I went directly to my seamstress for a final alteration, and that's when the issues became apparent. The beading on the straps now had loose threads hanging, and my seamstress immediately expressed concern. She stated the straps had been perfect before going to the cleaners, but now gemstones were loose and missing. She also said the dress appeared to have been tumbled, as there were new snags that had not been there previously. When I got home and inspected my gown more closely, I was devastated. Parts of the straps were clearly melted, gems were missing or loose, and my once-perfect dress was damaged. I immediately called the cleaners on Saturday morning (three days before leaving for Mexico) and was told to bring the dress in. I drove from Byron Center to Holland again to show them the damage. During that visit, the sales representative confirmed that dresses are placed in garment bags and tumbled as part of their cleaning process. She also acknowledged that the straps felt melted compared to my original fabric swatch and suggested it may have been caused by heat from the iron. On Monday morning, I received a text from the owner stating they were not responsible for the damage because I had "inspected" the dress before leaving the store--which is simply not true. I was never asked to inspect it. Why would I think to closely examine delicate straps if the dress was only supposed to be cleaned and pressed? The owner offered to replace the straps, but the materials available on such short notice were clearly inferior to the original. With less than 24 hours before flying to Mexico, this was not an acceptable solution. I ultimately asked for a refund of the $90 pressing fee, especially since the damage cost me well over $200 in additional fabric, seamstress work, and travel expenses. That request was refused. The stress, time, and emotional toll this caused right before my wedding were overwhelming. I strongly advise brides to go elsewhere for wedding dress services. This experience was not worth the "free" cleaning that came with my gown.

Stephanie and Jessie walked the perfect balance of offering help and suggestions while giving me plenty of space and time to peruse dresses and try them on. I felt so at ease, no pressure, no stress - they said I could take as much time as I wanted. My mom, sister, and niece all went, and they even were totally fine with my niece trying on dresses . We made memories to last a lifetime... oh, and walked out with the most perfect dress. On a practical note, their selection was incredible - a wide variety for brides of every size. The first visit my daughter tried on multiple dresses and she decided on a couple. The 2nd visit she finalized her decision where she was measured for her dress to be ordered. The measurements of my daughter would dictate the size to be ordered. Unfortunately I was unable to attend and upon returning to pick up her dress she was unable to zip up due to 'gaining .5 inches' and according to the salon a manufacturer defect on the zipper. The stylist continued to force the zipper which caused the dress to be stuck on my daughter before the stylist cut the zipper off to remove the dress. The final visit was to pick up the dress after the zipper was fixed where she was told she had gained 1.5 inches (over a month's time frame). The staff was not helpful and not willing to accept a mistake was made and work something out. The end result is this has become 'my daughter's problem' according to the owner of the salon. I would not recommend anyone to this salon for any type of dress due to the lack of professionalism.

She was exceptionally patient, attentive, knowledgeable and thoughtful during our multi-hour session, and represented a 5-star customer service experience. They had my favorites from Mori Lee, Maggie Sottero, and Allure. I contacted them several months early to reserve my appointment and they still had all of those samples by the time of my appointment, whereas other stores had sold all of them before I arrived. They ended up being out of power due to a totally random storm, but were apologetic and squeezed me in the day they opened back up and never made me feel rushed. My consultant was professional, would help me get in and out of dresses quickly, and wasn't pushy. They even had all the dresses I'd inquired about ready to go in my dressing room by the time I arrived! They did a good job with the clips, and though I'm not a tiny size, they made me look good in every dress I tried on. They were knowledgeable about potential alterations and even found the perfect veil for the dress I chose. I'm glad that they provide alterations on site. When I was deciding between 2 different dresses, multiple staff members voiced their opinion in a very helpful manner, discussing the style/theme/appropriateness for the venue.

The prices on the dresses were very reasonable and there was a large selection of wedding dresses, formal dresses and quinceanera dresses as well. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
