Over the years I have collected good looking table items and found exotic gifts for people. Yesterday I bought two stupendous greeting cards just because I liked them. All of this would be enough but the business model is fair trade items to benefit areas and peoples of the world which traditionally are not paid a fair wage for their labor. As a result the prices are fairly high. I like the idea of paying people a wage they deserve and getting quality, hand crafted merchandise that are more one of a kind. If that happens, it would be nice to be notified of that rather than returning home to find one of the ornaments you wanted is not there. This year, there was a major problem with pricing. I didn't catch this during the purchase, but the store charged me $66 more than the price listed in the catalog for the 10 or so ornaments I purchased. No one from the store alerted me to the fact during my purchase. I had to find out when I returned home. I asked the store a question through their Contact Us feature on their website two weeks ago, no reply yet. Online I am seeing the price increase was due to tariffs. I don't know if that is true, but whatever the reason, it seems to be very poor customer service to sell something for higher than the advertised price.

It is inconsistent, but you can also find some pretty cool things. Prices are not bad and they often have deals if you buy multiple items. I would say that they are better for movies than anything else; it is a pretty vast selection. It can be crowded and a bit messy. It seems like the employees are most of the problem here. The shelves can be really out of order and I have seen many times when the same item was listed at multiple different prices or had gunk and other stickers all over it. If you are patient and do not mind doing all the work yourself you can find decent deals; just be prepared to wait ages for anyone to help with things you cannot reach yourself.

Wow, what a breath of fresh air to shop in a Ross with so many women's sizes and such a varied…read morecollection of clothes! I have visited this Ross twice in the past 3 days and have happily walked away with 3 new shirts, a skirt, some pajama pants, and several other items. This location of Ross is also much neater than most other locations with clothes hung in the correct sizing section, for the most part. The only confusing area was the shoes where the sizes seemed to overlap one another & not be located in the correct area between sizes 9-10. With the prices at Ross, combined with the vast selection of items, it's most likely that I will return to this location the next time I'm in Illinois.
