First time I've ever had a pedicure where they didn't put lotion and massage my feet. This was after she cut into my skin several times and then proceeded to tell me she couldn't paint my nails with my flip flops on, the same ones I wear every time mind you. I'm somewhat indifferent to this nail shops. I like it because it's close to my house; however, I've had better service. So I did go on a busy Saturday, the 4th of July weekend. I did not not make an appointment, which I was told was best. I waited about 15 minutes before my technician, which I didn't think was bad. However, I was not too impressed with the tech. She seemed like a nice lady, but had an attitude. I'm going to say the attitude was attributed to how busy they were. I asked for dip nails. When she started taking off my old color, I asked her not to put the drill up so high because my nails are sensitive; however, it stayed high with and she nipped my skin one time. I was going to leave, but she had already gotten so far, so it just didn't make sense. Now we're a the did part of the appointment, she is pulling my hands and literally hitting my fingers to get the access off. Now I would not have a problem with this if I was not aware of the process for dip, but I felt slightly abused. I asked for my nails to be squared, so she did them square, but their raggedy. All in all my nails were done, I'm not sure if I would go back, but if I did, I would go to another tech. I just say go at your own risk. read more

The person who did my pedicure was the actual worst servicer I've ever had. He literally pretended to clip my cuticles and didn't bother even pretending to remove my callouses. My tonails look like tallons cuz he didn't even bother clipping them down. When I asked "isn't colous removal included?" He said yes knowing he hadn't done it. Then this man put towels on and left to go get on his phone till they were so cold that I removed them myself. He then proceed to give me a 10 second message to half my lower leg and left the moisturizer gooped on my legs and didn't touch my feet at all. These where my prom nails and they did my left hand square shape then my right hand coffin. Then the lady was getting ticked off that i asked her to make it the same shape. I called this establishment before coming to set an appointment for two people. After getting there we notified them of what we wanted and they told us to choose. After making the selection they put someone who could not communicate with you when you dislike the color after the first toe. You ask to change the color and then then they change you from gel to what they want after bringing the gel selection. They sit us off to the side when two chairs were open. I ask again when will they do the manicure and then he state you have to wait. Other customers of of other nationalities come in and they place every one before us as if we didn't have an appointment. They took one of us but didn't take me but yet sat another client. I asked what is the problem. He told me I have to wait 20 minutes. Now if my sister wasn't here, I would walk out because I can't stand a fascist establishment. I go here typically to get my nails done to which they do an okay job, but I Just went to get lashes done for Christmas and I asked for a natural and the lady put black glue all on my lid and they are lopsided. i went to get my wedding acrylic nails soaked off (they were done at a different salon) I requested a soak off and a no chip application. the woman instead of soaking off my nails as requested pried them off with a metal instrument. this cause bruising on my nail beds and damage to the nail. to hide the damage she Dremel ed the rough surface down causing my nails to be super thin. My nails are so thin they bend backwards when slight pressure is used.( like scratching a mosquito bite causes them to bend backwards) i would never recommend you go there. the lady who did my nails was rude to me i thought it was just a language barrier until another woman came in and she was very sweet and patient to her. read more

I had a horrible experience truly horrible. Went for a soak off, manicure, & pedicure. My feet were fine my nails awful. As the new nail tech did my nails with the neon color I chose the seasoned nail tech noticed that she was not using the white undercoat to make the nail polish look neat & solid and also another patron from looking at my nails said the same thing. I complained & asked for a discount, they said that because I had the gel soaked off my nails was the reason for my nails looking like this (a lie) once nails are buffed/smoothed they shouldn't come out looking uneven toned and totally jacked some even feel like they don't have a thick clear coat, they tried to lie and act as if missing the white undercoat was no big deal (lie) they didn't want to repair. They said only one nail was messed up & literally was going to let the same girl play with my nails again. (WTH!!!) I said no, they charged me $73 no discount, no experienced tech offering repair nothing. If I could give zero or negative I absolutely would. Went here because it was close to my work and went on my lunch. Called and made an appointment and was quickly taken care of which was the one and only good thing. Was just doing a "quick" no chip and it took well over and hour. I asked her 4 times to trim my nails down and she completely ignored me and did not. My nails are thin so I like them short so they don't break which doesn't matter in this case because the polish all started chipping away the next day anyways. I was bleeding from 7 different spots on my fingers by the time I was done. No joke, I literally have little scabs around my finger nails. The polish was so goopy and wavy looking like it was just gobbed on there. It was all over my fingers so then she'd get a q-tip with remover to get it off which burned because of all the little cuts. She kept jammin my hands in the dryer when my fingers were already touching the end inside. She did that until I finally told her firmly to please stop, my fingers are already as far in as they can go in and she's gonna make the polish smudge and she said, "that's ok". She didn't go all the way to my cuticle so when she was done it looked like I needed a fill. A woman came in and said she was in yesterday and a nail came off already and wanted to get it repaired. A man asked her if she made an appointment then began YELLING at her that she won't be helped without an appointment. She started to explain she was in the day before and she was in the area and he quickly and loudly began yelling at her. So ridiculous! My normal nail place would have had someone fix her nail real quick and apologized. Not this place, he was yelling very angrily at anyone that walked in without an appointment. I was mortified by this place and they did a terrible job. I can't believe that anyone goes here regularly. Trapped in Hobart by a deep fear and abiding hatred of rush hour traffic on a Thursday afternoon, I was wondering what to do with myself in the two hours before I could reasonably get on I-94 and head back for Chicago. Find a park? Nope, I had a fresh pie and my laptop to keep safe. Hang out at a coffeehouse? None in Hobart than I knew. Eat? Not after a nice late lunch in downtown Hobart. Pulling out on Lake Park Avenue/a.k.a. Route 51 in Hobart, a fortuitous surge in traffic meant I had to sit and stare off into space for a few minutes. And, lo and behold, my eyes fell on Hobart Nails & Spa, in the strip mall on the north side of Route 51 - I could get a pedicure! Gentle Reader, you must know that this would not be my #1 way to kill time. Indeed, the last pedicure I had was maybe 15 years ago - it wasn't so great, my feet hurt afterward, and I felt no desire to repeat the experience. My hands are steady enough to apply polish to my toenails, so there was no need to pay someone else for the privilege. But, stranded in Hobart, strange impulses arise. I entered, asked for a pedicure, and was told there'd be a 10-minute wall. I was instructed to pick a color of polish from a large display in the front room. Being old and boring, I passed by all the sparkles, neons, and chose a deep red. There are six nail stations in the back room. The only man working there turned out to be my technician. He told me to put my feet in the bowl and gave me a list of pedicure choices - hot wax, extra smelly stuff, whatever. I went with the basic $25 service. He was very businesslike, which was fine with me. The only laugh I got from him was when I said, you'll have to tell me what to do here. I haven't had a pedicure in at least 15 years. For some reason, everyone within hearing range thought that was hysterical. He worked quickly but confidently. My toenails were clipped, my cuticles were smoothed, my toes were buffed, the soles of my feet were efficiently and comfortably smoothed and scraped (fyi, I work on my feet almost every day myself, so there were already in decent shape), and my lower legs were scrubbed with a scented salt scrub up to my knees. He applied the polish quickly and evenly, and led me out to the drying station, telling me to give it a good 15 minutes under the dryer, since I was wearing shoes, not open-toed sandals. Then he said, "you want to pay me now?" Yep, guess so. I showed off my feet at work today, and they were universally admired by women who think getting a pedicure is as necessary as bathing - and that's a lot. I don't work with dirty or smelly people. For me, the pedicure process was just fine, but I'm still not sold on it. It was okay. I got what I paid for. I really don't see the great appeal that other women seem to feel. Hobart Nails & Spa could improve the customer service a little bit by saying hello, smiling, and offering a cup of water. When I got taken over to the drying station, my throat was parched. I asked the man, could I get a drink of water? He seemed surprised. Isn't it a normal courtesy to offer water? He returned with a small bottle of water, which I sucked down fast. The lack of warmth and small courtesies bring my rating from 5 stars to 4 stars. If I'm stuck in Hobart again, I would consider getting another pedicure. But I'm in no big hurry to get the procedure again. It was okay. As inexperienced as I am with pedicures, maybe my lack of a "wow factor" means I didn't get the best pedicure ever. Oops - almost forget. The chair you sit in during the pedicure is an automated massage chair. Your back and butt get pummeled by a machine for the whole time. It felt very weird to me. It kept my ass from falling asleep, but that's about the only benefit. I'd had a 90-minute full body massage the day before, and believe you me, the chair wasn't very pleasant. I'll take a real, professional massage by a human being any day of the week. So it's a "meh" for me on the chair. read more

I had the worst no chip manicure ever today. The nail tech kept forgetting things and was way too rough even when I mentioned it and flinched. My nails and cuticles are sore, she left nail polish on my skin, and was visibly irritated when I asked her to reshape two nails so all were the same. She started to do a gel nail until I stopped her and forgot we had chosen a color and started to apply hand cream before I reminded her of the color (at which point she said I told her natural). Wasn't able to schedule an appointment with my regular nail tech before Easter & needed somewhere to get a quick fill. I know how scary it can be to go to a new place not knowing what the outcome may be. This particular shop is very aestheticly pleasing. I was seen quickly. The quality of work was average. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. I kept it basic for fear they might mess up my nails. The fill & clean up were good but she didn't shape the nail as much as I would like also she did cut me, it was very small, with one of their nail instruments. So, overall I don't know if I would get a full set here and maintain a long term relationship but as a last resort for a quick fill and gel polish they're adequate. read more

I used to LOVE this Nail Salon and visited 2x a month spending easily $100 & recommended it to many others. Service has diminished considerably & sorry, it's not due to pandemic. I once requested Dip Powder Nails as a first timer to that service & since I didn't know what the process was for it I wasn't aware that was not the service they were giving me and they gave me a Gel Set because powder they had was old, but didn't advise me. Another time with an appointment for Mani/Pedi, I arrived when they opened & They asked me to come back in 20 minutes & I was back in 15 & sat & waited over an hour while many women were seated & serviced. Just recently, I did not have an appointment, neither did the two ladies after me, & I advised I needed to take off my nails and a simple manicure and the technician attempted to flip off the gel overlay that were on my nails and was irritated each time I had to pull my hand back in pain and rolled her eyes when I asked her if I can simply soak the gel overlay off. She then shifted me off to someone else who very rudely told me that I should have made an appointment And may need to return to finish my simple manicure. I raised my eyebrows and replied "Oh I'm sorry you no longer take Walk ins? Because I've seen at least three women after me that you are servicing And I assure you if I leave I will never come back and I will pull every recommendation I've ever given your salon" And on top of that asked me if I was giving a tip with my payment?
