Super clean and comfy rooms. The Casino floor is clean and welcoming. Staff is friendly and accommadating. The food courts is decent, pizza, mexican, or asian cuisine. The bar makes good, stiff drinks. The pool is meh, but the hot tubs are huge and jets are strong. They also have a sauna but I didn't test it so I have no opinion to offer, sorry folks. read more

First the hotel - clean rooms, easy check in, but no blankets! Just sheets on the bed with no other bedding in the room! Breakfast was disappointing. A $5 Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich at the lobby coffee bar was either expired or overcooked. (See pic) The cream cheese danish looked great, but was hard as a rock!!! The service, however was great! The casino was fun - no luck winning but we had a nice time! Staff was a little slow to respond but were very helpful when they did! read more

We had planned a girls' getaway. Just a few minutes after arriving to the casino, the power went out. We sat for about one hour without power. No explanation as to what was going on. Power was not out in surrounding area according to people in nearby areas. After power came on there was a slow startup with machines. Some didn't work. We stayed the night at the hotel. In the morning, power was on and off again. Again, no explanation or apology for inconvenience. I had a ticket to cash in at casino and when I went to cash it, the casino was shut down due to complications from power outage. Had to wait an hour to get in to cash ticket. We had hoped for some kind of compensation for the inconveniences, but instead was told they had no control over this . We are now considering not doing our bi-yearly girls' getaway with this establishment anymore. read more

Overall, a nice casino. Set up nicely where you have space and do not have to sit directly next to someone. One note, bathrooms are not plentiful, could use more. Hotel is nice, suggest a grab bar in showers, gets slippery. Cooper Oaks is ok, heavy on garlic in mashed potatoes, very good soup and cheesecake. Won a little, lost a lot, but it is a casino. read more

I had never been to this casino, so My Husband and I thought we'd give it a try. We found that the slots are very tight. I played over 60 of their machines and very infrequently got a bonus and then when I did get a bonus, it was way less than what I was betting. I will, however say on two machines I finally got a decent bonus and got just a little bit of the money back once again speaking with the locals they said the machines are very tight and if you look around, everybody's pretty much plan low pennies it's a beautiful casino, but the calibration of their machines are very tight We also stayed the night in the hotel. The room is beautiful. They have the extra large tub the deep toilet the big sinks. The beds are comfortable and we had a balcony so on that and My Husband and Myself was very pleased. I don't see us coming back to this casino nor will we be referring any of our friends and family and followers to this Casino thanks everyone have a great day. read more

The room was old and not very clean. We were unable to use the porch because there was so much bird poop on it. The screen to the porch was ripped and the wallpaper was starting to fall off. There were no towels in the pool the morning we left. I talked with the manager on duty, she said' "thank you, I'll let housekeeping know" That was it! There was no offer like "what can we do to make it right" or something similar. I emailed twice with pictures but have not received a response. I had to give1 star in order to leave a review, if it wasn't for that, I would have left no stars! read more

Tightest slots you will ever play as slot techs stand and watch you lose. I can't recommend this place to anyone for any reason

Won a Bingo at their Casino for $400 they came over and looked at my receipt told me it was invalid due to me not signing. Talk to Manage very rude and professional. I asked for a refund so I could just leave and they told me No house rules for everything. Very poor management read more

Upon arrival at the Casino, I asked three different security guys where the hotel lobby/check-in was and I could not get correct directions. Then the security guy in the suv was outside blowing my husband all kinds of crap because he was parked(mind you not in the way of any traffic, telling him he could not stay there.) He was very rude/crappy for a nicer word. To top things off, we ate at the Chinese restaurant. My husband's food was brought to him very timely. I had to ask twice where my food was....I got it 30-40minutes later. When I went to pay, I did the no tip on the machine which the cashier changed and put a tip on my receipt. She played dumb that she did not understand what I meant. Most of the people were rude there. read more

It sucks that they closed the poker room 5-6 years ago. I was a regular there, and I see so many former players at Potawatomi in MKE that travel a couple of hours to play poker there. I'll never understand there reasoning for closing the room. Not only that, I can't understand why they don't bring live poker back, considering that there's only two places to play in WI...either in Green Bay or MKE. read more

This place looked tempting and I wanted to see what it was all about. I sure was hoping for the best. My significant other and I walked inside. We stopped at the Rewards Club. I signed up and they gave me a cool card with $5.00 free play on it. I stopped at a pepsi machine and got a complimentary pepsi with ice. It was refreshing. The first thing I played was Single Hand Blackjack on a machine. The Min Table Bet: $2.00 on this one and I chose that denomination for most of my bets. I played quite a few hands with different bet amounts and even added the Lucky Lucky side bet on some of them. Unfortunately, the dealer got Blackjack and not me. I got up $9.00 for my short session, so that was good. After that, I decided to play at the Wolf Run machine. This one was 1¢ for the minimum. I put in $1 and then used my $5.00 free play. I started off by betting 1 Line Play 1 Per Line to learn the machine. I ended up betting each denomination all the way up until 20 Lines Play 5 Per Line. It also had a Repeat The Bet button, which came in handy to use multiple times. After a good amount of bets, I was up $5.00, so it was time to press the Cash Out button. The Cashier was in a convenient spot and it was fast each time I stopped there to claim each Cashout Voucher. The service throughout here was great. I didn't have any issues. Overall, I enjoyed my time here. I won't hesitate to come back. Date of visit: Aug 22, 2024 read more

Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells - Casinos Near Me - Baraboo, Wisconsin

First the hotel: I had an accessible room on the first floor that had a sliding back door. It was nice that the "do not disturb" or "housekeeping" were each a magnet to put on your doorframe instead of a paper card to place and close inside your door. There are some insignificant dings in the walls of the rooms where the doors hit the walls. The bathroom had a large shower with zero entry. There was a drain in the middle of the bathroom floor itself. A sturdy seat folded down inside the shower to hold at least up to 500lbs. There is a bench across from the bathroom with a deep drawer underneath. Next to this is a closed closet. There are loose hangers, an iron, an extra blanket. There was a side table next to a soft chair. This was the first hotel on my 11 night trip that still provided pens and pads with their name on them. There is a microwave and refrigerator near the TV. Second the casino: Smaller than most. Smoke free is a definite plus! Masks are optional but completely accepted by security as long as they can get a clear view of your eyes. I just got my players card here for the first time. The employee was fun to talk to. He provided me with all the information that I needed. I played only about $.75 - $1 per pull on slot machines. My best result was a hit that was over $36. But I left it behind before I left. Lol! I felt safe, was well rested, could use the bathroom and shower and had a great time here. It was everything I needed! But a bit more maintenance and/or preventative maintenance type of products for the rooms would definitely be in order! read more

I was very unhappy with our stay.  We almost didn't stay and couldn't wait to leave. The casino was dirty and smelled of old smoke.  The nicest restaurant looked like a food court cafeteria from the 80s.  There was a used bandaid, bloody side up, near the elevators after we checked in around 5pm on Friday.  It was still there when we left at 8am on Saturday.  The bed didn't even have a blanket on it, just sheets.  The staff was kinda nice but needed training. The nicest thing was the trees outside and the waterfall indoors.  This was our Anniversary trip and sadly the worst hotel or casino we've stayed at.  Stay away. read more

While it's not as flashy and grand as some of the newer casinos in the midwest (even after remodelling), I do enjoy spending a casual afternoon at Ho-Chunk Casino. There is definitely a large selection of games available and the atmosphere is fairly laid-back. Mixed in with free soda and generous spacing between different sections and it's easy to spend some time gambling either by yourself or with friends. There is also plenty of parking available. On the other hand, there is nothing to really make the casino stand out from other large ones in the Midwest either. But the decor and design do lend itself well to fitting in with the resort concept of the Dells. read more

I've been coming up to the Baraboo-Wisconsin Dells Ho-Chunk location with my family since I was 8 or so. When I was a kid, I enjoyed their jungle-gym type play place and their kids' games along with the beautiful pool and sauna. I could ride up and down the escalators and ponder the Indigenous murals for hours. When I became old enough to gamble, it was pretty fun and straightforward on the machines. I've had brunch here in the past that was great. I very much enjoy patronizing the Ho Chunk nation, and I even want to take my cousin here when he's finally 21. Pinigigi! read more

Have only one bar in entire casino. Not enough seats around the bar. Plenty of slots and table games, but need a bar in the back section

Road trip to Baraboo. We chose here because we got a king sized bed for $79. The bed is okay; but the room smells like citrus and not in a good way. The room is kind of cold, there is no blanket on the bed. We cannot find anyone to get us one. The remote for the TV doesn't work. Nice enough room. It's clean. Wish I could open the patio door to air the room out; but it's barred shut and would only make the room colder. The room has a microwave, a minifridge and a coffee maker. There's a safe in the closet. Incredibly rude and condescending girl at the front desk. So far I'm not impressed, it's sufficient, but nothing outstanding about it. read more

No problems here. From the security guard to the food employees, everyone was really nice. The chef salad was huge and actually tasted good. Machines worked well and were spaced out nicely. No smoking except in a designated area. Free fountain drinks! read more

We stayed at ho chunk casino and hotel in the dells. Gaming was fun. The hotel room could have been cleaner. And I was awakened at 2:30 AM.By the fire alarm And a man's voice saying emergency. Please leave the building now. I left my room walked down to the exit where a bunch of other guests were standing around. No one knew what was happening and no staff ever arrived to let us know what was going on. It was a very frightening experience. Finally, one of the guests Told us it was a false alarm. If it hadn't been such a long drive I would have left for home. Would NOT recommend seeing a show at this disorganized casino. When you first enter the casino, there is no signage telling you where your show will be held. Asked a very unprofessional looking security guard and he was clueless! We finally figured it out on our own. We made our way to the second floor to only stand in a 45 minute line to just get to our seats. The line was so backed up because they had only 1 security guard screening hundreds of people with a wand. ONE! The venue was nothing but a stale smelling banquet room. Our seats were banquet chairs lined up in front of a make shift small stage. The banquet chairs were crammed next to one another and if you tried to move, you end up elbowing either the person on your left or right!!! This experience is based on seeing the Commodores on Feb. 17, 2024. To add insult to injury, the Commodores only played ONE HOUR!!!! It was a positively horrible experience and a big waste of money! I would avoid this casino! read more

A friend and I go to bingo almost every saturday night. At the same table everytime there are 2 guys and 1 lady that win 2-3 times every time we go. It looks fishy to us. Also the workers one at a time will sit and talk with them while the game is playing. As soon as they walk away one of those people will win. Can the workers talk to only them while the game is playing and why do those same people ALWAYS WIN? Is there some knid of gadget under their table? They do a great job of security and such at the doors and have lots of sanitizing stations throughout the place. For tables, they have plexiglass and proper spacing. You were supposed to wipe down the slots with a sanitizer wipe after you were done, but from how many I have to wipe done BEFORE playing, I may have been the only one doing so. They also changed around the layout to accommodate distancing, but there were still a LOT of people in there. I do love that they enforce mask wearing and give their guests complimentary drinks. read more

They have nice showers. This is the only good thing I have to say about this place. Good luck trying to find your room because signage is either non-existent or worthless. And "service" is clearly not a thing here. From every person I encountered throughout the casino, restaurant, bar, banquet staff, everyone. Both times I've been here. Food is nothing more than edible. The smoke is so thick in the casino floor, we had to leave. Never been to the one in Madison but praying that's better. read more

Staying at the hotel for work. This is the second time in the last few months I've stayed here. The first time I noted the hotel room was unkempt. It had dust in areas that should be normally wiped down. Carpets are worn down, etc. this time...this time it's BAD!!! I went to put water in the fridge that I brought. The fridge is filthy. There is spilled juice and other stuff in there. I saw something in the microwave and when I opened it there was a styrofoam container with moldy food in it. Now I'm paranoid at how clean this room even is. No washcloth in the room. Just simple lack of general housekeeping standards. I will not be back here! Housekeeping came at 9:30pm to wipe down the microwave and fridge. They also threw away my leftovers from a $70 steak. I was not happy. The staff don't know how to handle situations like this and have no type of offer or resolution for such an inconvenience. I also called to see what time the gym opened and two staff had no idea. Very odd for employees to have zero insight into their jobs. read more

We stayed here for our anniversary weekend. We had a really, really good time. My hubby called and set up for the room to be decorated, so when we arrived there were rose petals on the floor, the bed, banners, balloons, a bottle of wine.... It was really nice. The room was clean, everyone we encountered was nice & helpful. And even though we lost money gambling - we had a fun time. I can't wait to come back again soon! read more

I been coming to this casino for many years. I always had a great experience the sunset grill food was delicious. When the buffet was located on the 2nd floor it was pretty good as well. My family and I stood at the hotel twice this summer and just this weekend. We had to drive to the Dells area to get food because the ho chuck grill closes early and the Mexican restaurant near the casino floor is high priced and small portions. What happened to the grill being opened 24hrs Luke it was yrs ago? We were up late playing slots and the only choice we had for food was the vending cookies, chips etc. It is not family oriented kids quest and the game room no longer exists. The swimming pool area is filled with dust and the hot tub floor has black sandy dirt. The pool water looks cloudy its a shame the lack of up keep. All that remodeling for a new registration area and a snack shop that also closes early. It should of stood the way it was they had food options that were reasonably priced and teasted good. The pool area was also cleaned. The slots were hitting more my husband and I both played over the weekend and no matter the bet the payout was very low. Most slots did not payout at all. That being said I can now understand why the casino is not opened 24 hrs every day. People are sick of wasting money in the casino. They need to bring back sunrise Cafe and have affordable food prices People are spending money in the casino at least make better food options. Also what happened to the weekend entertainment I remember when live bands would perform it made the experience more enjoyable. Who ever ran the casino and hotel at that time needs to come back. I miss the way this casino use to be. I don't think we will be visiting this casino anytime soon. read more

For someone like me who is not serious about gambling at all, Ho-Chunk is not the worst. If you just want to kill some time and play penny machines for fun you'll have a decent time as long as it's not super crowded (or if smoke doesn't bother you). I am allergic to smoke and when it's busy, it's unbearable despite the ventilation. My last visit was actually pretty pleasant, though - I had minor issues and the smoke-free area was actually living up to its name for once. It was a Monday night, though, so the casino on the whole was pretty dead. Things that most people aren't going to like: limited machine options (lots of repetition), very few non-slot games, drinks aren't free, the bar doesn't list any prices if you do want a drink, the more "fun" machines like Wizard of Oz/Anchorman/etc. don't accept rewards play, the rewards money is hidden in the game menu and you still have to put in real money to activate it, and food options are limited. Things that are good: the Rewards program has gotten me some decent perks despite being among the lowest of low rollers, including a free hotel stay and $25 in house money, the woodsy interior display is pretty, during Halloween they had a really extensive display of creepy props, bathrooms were spotless, and it's easy to access from the highway. Ho-Chunk isn't a top-tier casino, but for a little fun in the Dells area that's not overrun by children you could do worse. read more

We went to waste some time. We didn't stay at the hotel, or have any interaction with any employees. All I can say is that the machines were very modern with a lot of choices. My wife put a total of $50 in 4 different machines. We ended up walking out with $125. So I'd say we had a good night. read more

Very disappointed, we specifically reserved a room near the elevator for my terminally ill Mother and paid extra for it - when we arrived we were told that there were no rooms near the elevators. The PREMIUM LUXURY room that we had was a joke! The bed linens looked like they had been sitting in a dryer for a week - totally a wrinkled mess (I know that is petty but it was icing on the cake). The beds were hard as a rock with cheap thin pillows on the bed. The entertainment center was missing doors and they maybe had 4 working cable stations. The "ample" tub is just a regular tub. I travel frequently and have stayed at MUCH nicer for far less. Don't waste your money! read more

Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells - Our not so "premium" room! - Casinos Near Me - Baraboo, Wisconsin

It is a shame that I have to write this. I evidently inserted my ticket over another patron's and "took" the money. I was unaware that I did it, but they surrounded me with security in a show of force on the casino floor. They told me it was $90. I gave them $100 even though, as I assume I did it even though I wasn't shown it. I left the casino upset that I was surrounded when I surely would have repaired the mistake in a much less public situation. I then requested the proof and a refund of my overpayment. When ignored I asked again in order to keep it private. They have declined to contact me. So now that they have taken my money it doesn't appear to be as important. Mine was a mistake when I played an unattended machine. Theirs is known, on camera, documented and owed. They lost a customer and don't seem to care. Beware. read more

I have experienced several casinos in the last year in WI and MN. This one just didnt impress me. First off their players card program was horrible...no free play until you earn 10 points, and 1 point is $10 in play...we showed up at like 10 and usually play penny slots so there wasnt any hope at us getting there... Now we both put in $20, he walked away with $70 and i walked away with $27, so you would think that since we both came out on top it would be better rated, but we just werent impressed with this place. read more
