2 piece cod with loaded mashed potatoes
    Mark S.

The 2 piece beer battered fish fry is an enormous portion. For $20, this includes a nice salad bar, soup (NE Clam), and an assortment of cheeses and sausages. Also a choice of side dish and 3 asparagus spears. I choose the loaded mashed potatoes and my wife had the loaded scalloped potatoes as her side. Both sides were very rich, really too much cheese - yes, it's possible to have too much cheese. Almost as much cheese as potato. They also provide pretzel rolls to the table, but no butter in sight, checked the salad bar too. I could have asked our server, but with the richness of the food, I decided to forgo it. The tartar sauce is better than the typical stuff you get everywhere. The restaurant is situated in a large open room. I imagine wedding receptions taking place here. The drive up to the restaurant has little or no signage, so just use your GPS and it should get you to the right place.

Breaded Haddock, loaded baked potato, and asparagus. It was excellent

This place is excellent great Friday fish fry soup and salad bar !!! Bar service was bad and the bar was empty, restaurant waitress was just as bad and their was only four table full but the salad bar made up for it.

We decided to go to Trappers Turn for Christmas dinner. That was a mistake. Right off the bat, the server was rude. His name Daribor or something like that and he was rude and inattentive. We found ourselves bothering a very nice lady waiting on a nearby table to get refills on our water and coffee. One member of our party never got her coffee. The food was fair. The green bean casserole and candied yams were watery and runny, there were two types of beef and both were tough. The prime rib was doled out very cautiously. Finally we flagged down our server to get our checks. He dropped them off and I noticed that our 12 year old daughter was billed as an adult. The website stated ages 4-12 were $14.99 & 13 & up were $44.99. After ten minutes or so we were able to flag down our server again and I explained the discrepancy to him and gave him my credit card. Our party was split into two groups, 2 adults and the child on my check and three adults on my brothers check. After some time the server returned and admonished me that it was ten and under for the kids rate and that he gave us the kids rate anyway, but wouldn't in the future. He gave us the tickets for our signatures and left before we noticed that he ran my brother's ticket on my card (3 adults) and vice versa. We waited a while and he was nowhere to be seen. I was mad as a wet hen, so we just signed the tickets and headed for the door. I stopped by the hostess station and asked for the manager. An elderly lady was introduced to me as the manager and I explained that after enduring the rude waiter who neglected our table, he screwed up the check. She was apparently in a mood to argue and I wasn't in a mood to back down. She insisted that the kids rate was for 10 & under and didn't care what the website said. I told her we would never return and I left. A few minutes later my wife came outside. She had stopped by the rest room and passed by the hostess station as the elderly woman told the others that she didn't care if we came back or not. So, if you want mediocre food, poor service, rude managers and at a price of $44.99 a head, this is the place for you! Otherwise stay home and order a pizza from Moose Jaw!

    Smoked salmon... Fantastic.

Mother's Day buffet was great the biggest variety I've ever had at any place. I recommend it to anybody.

Although the service was horrible the food and atmosphere was excellent a great brunch. Just don't expect to much on the service end

Beautiful property and we loved the experience! We golfed the 12 north course which was a par 3 with 12 holes. Very fun!

Decent golf course but the food and drink prices were egregious. $10 hot dogs on a gas station style warmer is obviously unacceptable.

We had the ceremony outside along with pictures and music going while being able to see our guests so there was no fear of missing out. Plenty of room for a band and dancing too If you're looking into a venue, I'd highly recommend this place. Not one thing went wrong and it was nothing but amazing. We can't wait for our photos/video. First of all, it's like pulling teeth to find things out, you pay them, and they are not straight forward about what they will be doing for you. They have an on line brochure, but it leaves out a lot of information. We got there the morning of the wedding and there was all kinds of crap to be picked up outside before we could decorate, random chairs sitting in the front. When we asked them to get rid of the chairs and help clean up, they were clearly annoyed. They were not friendly at all! The food was okay, very expensive. Of course. I know that, but $60.00 for 2.5 gallons of ice tea, come on. It was a very warm day, we were inside before the wedding and the owner turns off the air! Omg! And one more thing, they kept our left over cake!! I was not happy at all. My advice, keep looking and save this extravagant price towards a house down-payment.

Bartender was super friendly, I wish I could remember his name. We told him how we were looking for things to do and he was more than happy to write down some recommendations for us. I thought that was super nice because I feel like sometimes, at least in the Dells area, it seems like they get tired of us tourists and aren't always as friendly as I feel they should be considering they know they're working in a tourist area. We happened to be sitting next to the lady that does the tours so we thought, awesome, we love seeing old buildings and hearing the history so we signed up! It's $20 per person and about 50-60 mins. It was super cool to see, informative, the lady was friendly, and answered any questions we had. It was pretty amazing to hear that people actually live on the 4th floor, I wasn't expecting that for some reason. After the tour was over she played the large organ for us which was great. We sat down for another beer, listened to the awesome music the bartender was playing and set up our next tour at the Driftless Glen distillery. This was on our list plus it was one of the recommendations from the bartender. If your in the area and looking for something different to do, I highly recommend checking this place out!

We just got back from a fantastic family trip to Kalahari, and it truly is a "park once and forget…read moreyour car" kind of place. If you're looking for convenience, this is it. There is a massive selection of water slides both inside and outside. Even in the middle of winter, the indoor waterpark is kept at a very comfortable 84 degrees, so you never feel that "shiver" when you get out of the water. They do provide towels at the park, but it's a "check-out" system. If you are staying at the resort, it's free using your wristband, but you must return them before you leave the waterpark area for the day or you will be charged. The RFID wristbands are a game changer. They serve as your room key, your park pass, and your wallet. It's incredibly convenient to be cash-free--you can just tap to pay for lunch, drinks, or arcade games. A word of caution: definitely keep an eye on your tab! Because everything is a simple "tap" away, the spending can add up incredibly fast. It's easy to lose track of the total until checkout. Yikes! You honestly don't even need to leave the resort. We loved that everything is connected internally--no walking outside in the Wisconsin weather required. * Tom Foolerys & Movies: There's a direct hallway that leads you right to the indoor theme park and the cinema. * Dining: There are several restaurants right there in that same connected area. They are definitely on the pricey side, but the convenience makes up for the price. Even though you don't need to leave, the resort is in a perfect spot right off the interstate. There's a gas station immediately nearby, which is super handy for a quick pit stop on your way out of town. Overall, a 5-star experience for family fun and pure convenience. Just watch those wristband swipes!
