The views here are amazing!! We dined outside at Mammoth restaurant there. Everything was delicious. We ordered their cheese curds and wings as an appetizer, both were so tasty & the sauces were great. I had the mammoth chicken sandwich for dinner which was a large portion size and so flavorful. Our service was okay, it was a little busy so understandable that it was slower. They also started a fire in their fire pit which added a nice touch to sitting outside as the sun set. We will be back to check out Craig's porch - however, we found it confusing all weekend trying to figure out when it is available to the public. Spoke to multiple staff members throughout the weekend and each time they had different answers on when the public could go up there for drinks.

My buddies and I just visited for our first golf trip to Sand Valley. 36/day, 3-days, Sand Valley in the morning, lunch, Mammoth Dunes in the afternoon. What an incredible experience for anyone who loves the game of golf. Every single shot challenges you, tough but fair, course design is my favorite I've played, so challenging but you respect the way the course design pushes you to play each hole. Such a tough course, so although my scores ranged from 83 to 96, I did hit my first Hole in One on Sand Valley Hole 8. What an experience, they give you a framed picture of the hole you hit it on. They thought of everything. Lodging, food, & staff were all incredible. The best hospitality! Given the times we're in with heightened COVID safety protocol, the staff took every measure possible to create a safe experience for the guests.

Yes I'm a fan of this course even though it beat the crap out of me! There are two courses here one 18 hole and one par 3 17 hole, not a typo it's 17 holes of the hardest par 3 course you'll ever play in you're life guaranteed. The greens are HUGE and roll like putting on concrete. Now I know how the pros feel and what they have to deal with. The longest hole is 150 and a few are in the 100 yard range. Long putts here are the norm on both courses. The fairways on the 18 hole course are so wide it's nearly impossible to miss a fairway. Placement here is a must espically around the green where some of the bunkers are Scotland deep! Caddies are available. There are no carts, its walking only and it gets hilly so be prepared. Oh, and its expensive too. Great driving range is a short bus ride away. The 19th hole is very nice with a nice selection of beers and a variety of apps and lunch/dinner items. Outdoor seating as well. Service is excellent.

Sand Valley is absolutely gorgeous and a MUST SEE if you are in the Nekoosa/Wisconsin Rapids area. They have a nicer restaurant (Aldo's - priciest), a more *upscale* bar (Mammoth Bar), and then Craig's porch, which is the cheapest but unfortunately is only open to golfers right now Everything Sand Valley does is surrounded by sustainability. They have their own garden where a lot of the vegetables/herbs grow, which is amazing! They try and also source local ingredients as much as possible. Besides sustainability (which truly is one of my favorite things about them) is that their food is DELICIOUS. No matter what you get, I promise you won't be disappointed. Their specialty drinks are pretty awesome too Not looking to eat? Just go for the views! Sit down, have a drink (or soda/water) and just relax and take in the breathtaking views. Sometimes when I'm there, I truly forget I'm in Wisconsin. Plus, Mark Wahlburg and Aaron Rodgers have been spotted golfing there, so who knows who you might run into!

Sunset at Sand Valley Golf Resort. Incredible.

Fantastic golf venue. You are in the middle of Wisconsin but it feels like another world! This is the Mecca of golf.

What truly impressed me was the impeccable maintenance of the greens. They were like putting on velvet - smooth, consistent, and a true test of my putting skills. The fairways were impressive. We had a wonderful dinner there on a Friday night. It was super busy, so we sat at the bar to wait for a table and ended up eating right there. They don't have Biron tap, but they do have a decent selection of beer in the bottle, which is what my companion ordered. Fridays are fish night and there was a wide selection of different fish that you could order, prepared in a variety of manner. I was super excited that they had a lake perch on the menu, because I so rarely see that. I probably didn't need an entire half pound, but it was really delicious. My companion ordered fish fryand enjoyed that as well. We didn't sample the rest of the menu, but they were plenty of good options. The number of people dining there tells me that the food must be good. So glad we went. Hope to go again when I am in Rapids.
