There are very few times that I can say that I enjoy visiting the dentist, however this was a good experience all around. Jamie at the front desk said hello and called me by name the moment I walked in the door. I was shocked because this was my first visit to HMC Dental and Vision. Maria took my pics and Dr. Reagan got right down to business after a sincere hello and welcome. I was surprised that Dr. Reagan actually did my cleaning and polishing but I think it is so he can really get a chance to know his patients, their teeth and any concerns they may have. If HMC dental accepts your insurance plan, this is a great place to go. Dr. Reagan is kind, professional, and very gentle with your teeth (which is really the most important part). The whole staff there is nice and happy to help. It was a breeze setting up my appointment and getting all the payment done through my dental insurer (Dr. Reagan's office handled everything). If you request it, his office with email you digital copies of your xray. So cool, I can now have my dental records with me anywhere (I think it's vital you can control and access your own records when you need them). The entire atmosphere in the office is super nice. On your first visit you'll likely have your xrays done digitally and Dr. Reagan goes through them with you on the handy-dandy tv screen while you sit in the dental chair. Dr. Reagan is the best dentist I have ever been to. I know that sounds like hyperbole, but he is the best. He has done crowns, fills and cleanings for me over the years since he moved into the space on 43rd. He is calming, very gentle and such a lovely person that I actually look forward to going to the dentist these days. It was never that way before. I have had some rough goes with my dental practitioners. Not enough pain medication, keeping my mouth open too far for too long so much so that my lips would dry out and crack, and really bad help with insurance. - hmcDENTAL and Dr. Reagan are the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of those bad experiences. I can't recommend him and his team highly enough. And if you have dentist terrors, you should really see him. I moved to NYC two years ago, but kept my dentist in upstate New York because I was dreading the process of finding a new dentist in the city. After searching, I came across hmcDENTAL. I have never made a better decision or had a better experience. I called a week before my appointment and they were able to get me in almost immediately (they offered me an appointment the next day), and they were in touch with me to fill out my paperwork online before my appointment in order to be time efficient. The hygienist (unfortunately I can't remember her name, but will find out) was absolutely amazing. She was attentive and informative beyond any other hygienist that has worked on me in the past. She addressed my TMJ immediately and throughout the cleaning let me know when I could close my mouth more so that I wasn't sore afterwards. She seemed very concerned and made sure that I was consistently comfortable. She also made the effort to explain to me what she was doing and to show me how to properly clean my teeth. Dr. Reagan was also very nice. He was quick, efficient, and accommodating. All in all, I had a wonderful experience, and cannot stress enough how wonderful this office is. read more

I've been seeing the great team at hmcDENTAL for the last 3 years. I've hated dentists my whole life and this place is the exception. Everyone who works here is kind, genuine and compassionate. They take time to explain everything- whether it's a dental question or insurance-related. Dr. Reagan and all of the hygienists have great bedside manners and exude calm. Dr. Reagan and his team are awesome, which is why I've been with this office during my entire time in NYC (3-4 years). They are very professional yet friendly. The office is clean, conveniently located (43rd and 8th), and never overcrowded. My painpoints with other experiences have been overbooking or longer waits, but I'm never waiting more than 1 minute before being brought into the nice massage chair (great feature) for my routine check-up. The hygienist there (a young lady) is also great. She's delicate when she cleans your teeth. I also had crowns done with Dr. Reagan. He first gave me a great referral to do a root canal before seeing him for the actual crown fitting/procedure. It was a fast, efficient process. My teeth look great. Dr. R made sure I was comfortable and that I was getting what I wanted. Jamie will likely be your point of contact via email or phone. She's super responsive, helpful, and nice. Every time I send an email, I get a response very quickly. It's also super convenient to schedule, reschedule, ask questions, etc. over email with her and the team. Note: no one asked me to write this review. I went in yesterday for a cleaning and realized it would be my last since I'm moving out of NYC soon, so I had to share! I have been a patient of Dr. Reagan's for 15 years and have nothing but praise for HMC Dental. Dr. Reagan is personable, patient, explains things clearly and professionally, and keeps up to date on dental education and practices. The hygienists have always done a thorough and painless job with the cleanings. And the front desk has always been helpful in answering insurance questions and has the right balance of giving appointment reminders without going overboard. The office is clean and orderly (and has beautiful views of the Manhattan skyline from the dental chair to boot). We just moved to NYC about a month ago and I'm sure you all know it takes time to find the right doctors. Well, on Monday, one of my crowns came off....while chewing gum. I immediately started the search to find a dentist that was close to where we live and up popped hmcDental. There were only 7 reviews, but it figured I was in a pinch and needed something fast. I called their office and they were able to get me in the next day and they accept my insurance!! The office is very nice on the top floor of an older building. I had completed all my paperwork online, so when I arrived a few minutes early, they took me right back. Dr. Reagan and his hygienist (sorry I can't remember her name) were both just super nice. They are very personable and professional. They fixed me up in a very short amount of time and I have had NO discomfort!! I have already scheduled my cleaning in a couple of months. I was referred to Dr. Reagan by my friend, Steve Bizzell, many years ago when Dr. Reagan was in another practice. I hadn't experienced such a gentle, caring touch and wonderful service from a dentist since I moved from my birth city. I was absolutely thrilled to see Dr. Reagan and Dr. Bizzell enter a practice together, especially in time to fix a fractured tooth. They did an amazing job of educating me on the process, working with my fluctuating schedule and making me feel fully taken care of. Even if (like me) you don't have insurance, you should take Troy B.'s advice and go here for your dental care. As Chad W. said, "I never thought I'd look forward to going to the dentist!"
