Just left Brite Dental spa after an exam, cleaning and whitening. I must say, Dr Garemani and her staff are super nice and professional! Highly recommend due to several factors... I am a bit OCD on cleanness so the 1st thing I look at is how clean the place is and this place is by far the cleanest I've ever seen... As for them being on time, I've gone to destiny before where they make you sit for 30 mins to an hour to be seen but here I was on the chair a minute after I checked in with the front desk. My cleaning, whitening and exam was done in a very timely manner and could not be happier with the service I received. Thank you Dr Garemani and the team :)

Charges I have no clue about

SCAM ALERT: STAY AWAYYYYY!!! Beware: Brite Dental will write comments to discredit my review just like what they did with other bad reviews but I have evidence on what I'm going to say here. I was so busy lately and would have forgotten to write a review if they didn't keep sending me an additional charge with absolutely NO hint on what the charge is for (image 1) given that my last visit was almost a year ago and I never cancelled an appointment (don't pull that cancel fee trick!). I asked them via email and phone calls and got no explanation. I already paid for everything stated in the receipt (after confirmation from my insurance) of my last visit and have no clue what else is left! My experience at Brite Dental was horrible - where to start!? They tried to SCAM me anyhow they could after learning that I didn't visit a dentist for quite a while and had some cavities. They suggested that I get porcelain crowns on two molar teeth (#2 and #4) and use temporary/provisional crowns (provided by Brite Dental) on these teeth while waiting for the real ones to be done. A quick google search would show you what temporary crowns look like -- they are made from cheap materials but look no different from porcelain crowns. Here comes Brite Dental's trick: They just filled my teeth with some unknown material (that would have costed only $20-50 after insurance) and charged me for temporary crowns ($200 each - image 2+3)! I went to another dentist to confirm and got the same answer: I only got tooth fillings, not to mention that Dr. Garemani was careless enough to leave a hole on one of the fillings and make the teeth stick together so I couldn't floss them at all (image 2+4) - just look at the pics yourself! After I asked for a full refund they insisted that I had got a provisional filling material called Luxatemp before getting actual provisional crowns in the next visit, accidentally admitting that they previously tricked me into thinking I got provisional crowns (image 5). If they really wanted to give me provisional crowns in the next visit, why would they charge these before that visit and not tell me anything until I pointed out? Later they made a partial refund but added new charges on stuff not listed in my appointment receipt to make sure I couldn't get all my money back and never acknowledged any wrongdoings. Apart from the obvious scam above, they did a poor job examining/cleaning my mouth and still tried to rip me off for this. On the day of my last visit, I had a bad tooth abscess that's swollen right between my two upper front teeth. Dr. Garemani completely ignored it when giving me a deep cleaning (upper quarters) and after I specifically asked about the abscess through an assistant, she just said I might need root canal on the front teeth without taking a proper look. It's swollen so bad that I had to seek treatment from another dental office but completely gone after a good deep cleaning there. My new dentist said I had a lot of calculus left when I arrived, which kept me thinking what kind of "periodontal evaluation" and "deep cleaning" Brite Dental actually gave me just days ago. When I asked for a record/report on my comprehensive oral evaluation and periodontal evaluation (charged separately), they couldn't provide any. Should I report this to NY Dental Board and Consumer Protection?

But Giselle didn't seem to want to work with mine, so I'm not sure why Brite Dental Spa says they accept it.

I am writing this review out of genuine disappointment and concern regarding the business practices…read moreat Central West Dentistry, as I paid for services that were not delivered as described. I returned to this practice in August 2025 specifically because of my past positive experience with Dr. Martin, who had always been sensitive to my severe dental anxiety. For my August appointment, booked for a cleaning, exam, and X-rays, I confirmed in advance that I required nitrous for the entire visit along with Valium. Instead, I was met with repeated pressure from a hygienist I had never met before about "concerns" with my teeth and gums, even though Dr. Martin had already examined me and said everything "looked good." The hygienist left mid-appointment to discuss insurance coverage with the office manager, leaving me waiting. When I asked to proceed with the cleaning I originally booked, she turned the nitrous off, switched to oxygen and I ultimately left without the full service. Because I care deeply about my dental health, I later scheduled Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing for today, the deep cleaning their hygienist recommended. I was told it would take two hours to complete all four quadrants and cost roughly $350 per quadrant. I prepaid nearly $2,000 and confirmed, in writing, that I required nitrous for the entire appointment and did not want any upsells mid appointment. Despite receiving multiple confirmations (two emails, three calls, and a text), the experience again fell far short. I flew into NYC specifically for this appointment and timed my anxiety medication with the appointment time to ensure treatment would go smoothly. When I arrived early at their request, the hygienist attempted to rush me into treatment before the nitrous had taken effect, contradicting their claim of understanding dental anxiety care. Then I was told I would receive injections to numb my entire mouth, something never mentioned during the booking process, not listed online in the procedure description, and not disclosed in any of our prior conversations. I declined and requested standard numbing gel. The "two-hour" Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing began at 4:02 pm and ended at 4:32 pm, 30 minutes total. Literally. I was then told the reason was simply, "Your teeth are in such good shape." This is especially concerning given that four months earlier, I was told (during a basic cleaning) that my gums were in such poor condition they needed to stop mid-appointment to verify insurance approval for a deep cleaning. Yet now, after paying cash upfront, all four quadrants were completed in just half an hour. It feels inconsistent at best, and at worst, like a bait-and-switch situation. I also paid $215 for nitrous oxide. Based on the photo I took, the machine displayed 60% nitrous / 30% oxygen. At no point did I feel the typical physical effects one would expect--especially when combined with a prescribed sedative. It raises the question of whether the nitrous tank was empty or improperly administered. I've had nitrous EVERY dental appointment for 20 years - i know how I'm supposed to feel, I repeatedly said nothing was coming and I was fully alert, yet another scam. To summarize, I paid nearly $2,000 for: * A two-hour Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing that lasted only 30 minutes * Four quadrants of scaling, when realistically only one or two may have been addressed * Nitrous oxide that did not appear to be delivered as represented * An exam I was told was required, yet I never saw the dentist at all. Oh and on my statement, it stated I received an Ibero scan - never happened and the receptionist said, well you weren't charged for it. LOL. I am requesting reimbursement for the nitrous charge, two of the four quadrants, and the exam fee. Patients have choices in dental care. If a practice advertises expertise in treating dental anxiety, the staff should be trained to actually deliver on that promise. Unfortunately, my experience demonstrated the opposite.
